Advantages: GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT

Disadvantages: THE GOOD RESULTS DIDN'T LAST

I have had long hair for most of my adult life, with it reaching to just beyond my shoulder at its shortest length. For just over a year I have been getting my hair dyed at my local hairdressers every six weeks or so. Whilst I find the dye that the hairdresser uses is not as harsh as some home-dying kits I have used in the past, I still feel that my hair suffers as a result of the chemicals that are used, by becoming rather dry and frizzy at times.

With this in mind, I have been looking for an appropriate treatment or remedy for this problem for a number of years now. I have tried just about every lotion and potion, conditioner and serum, sometimes spending over ten pounds on one product, which is rather a lot when you consider that I am unable to work due to disability and have a very tight budget at times.

It was my limited budget that led me to recently try "Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Luscious Long Deep Treatment", as my local chemist was doing a range of the 'Aussie' products at a discounted price. After investigating several of the conditioners, and reading their assorted claims and the like, I opted to purchase the "3 Minute Miracle" treatment, as I particularly liked the eye-catching sub-heading on the front of the bottle; "For long hair begging for a treat..." My locks most definitely fit into this category at this point in time, and with my decision made, I took my bottle of 'deep treatment' to the cash desk and headed home.

I have been using the product ever since, and would say that overall I am quite pleased with the results.

* Packaging *

The bottle is reasonably attractive, if a little plain. The impression I get from reading the label and the 'blurb' on the rear of the bottle is that it is quite a natural product, containing natural ingredients, and there are several references to Eucalyptus and Avocado on the label, which I think help to give this impression. On reading the label, it is easy to understand both the claims made by the product and the instructions that should be carried out when using it. The bottle is average-sized in terms of similar products on the market, the contents being 250ml.

The bottle has a clever design in that it stands upright by itself and doesn't have a separate lid to be removed before using; in place of this, it has a sort of 'plug' which is made of some sort of rubbery plastic, through which the product can be dispensed. This means that it is quite easy to dispense the correct amount of product, and it also makes it very difficult for the product to leak out of the bottle when not in use. The 'plug' design therefore, cuts down on the amount of waste you may have when using the treatment.

* The Claims *

The product, simply put, claims to turn your long locks into 'silky swathes' in 3 minutes. The use of Avocado oil, we are told, helps to nourish each hair shaft from root to tip. This immediately gives me the impression of shiny luscious locks flowing about in a similar fashion to those that can be seen regularly on those irritating TV commercials. (Green eyed monster talking here!) >:-o

So, are those claims reasonable?

Well, I have to be honest here and say that the first couple of times that I used the treatment, I was quite impressed with the way my hair looked after use. I felt that on the whole, it was shinier and rather more healthy-looking than normal. I also felt that it was fairly silky to touch, and very soft. That said though, most conditioners make my hair feel soft to the touch.

I have just finished the bottle of the 3 Minute Miracle treatment, after using it continuously for the past couple of months, and can honestly say that those initial first signs of improvement have vanished somewhat. Yes, my hair is still nice and soft and rather silky, but the split ends have slowly started to creep back, even though I got my hair trimmed around 3 weeks ago, and the ends of my hair definitely look drier than the top part. In addition, I feel that the overall look of my hair is not as shiny and healthy-looking as it was when I first started using the product.

I have found this to be the case with other 'hair masks' and treatments that I have used in the past; it is as if my hair somehow gets used to the product and stops responding! In particular, I have found this to be the case when switching shampoos or conditioners that I have been using for a few months to a different brand. Then, if I were to switch back to the original one I had been using, I can almost guarantee that my hair would be rather luscious looking for the first couple of uses! I'd be interested to know if other ladies suffer this problem with hair products or if my hair is just weird!

* The Cost *

The bottle of 3 minute Miracle Treatment would have normally cost me over £4 from my local pharmacy. At the time of me purchasing it, it was only £1.99. This is very reasonable as it has lasted me around three months and I'd probably still think it offered good value for money if I had purchased it at full price.

* Would I recommend it? *

In a word, yes. Whilst the good results obtained from using it have diminished somewhat, I find that this is the case with most similar hair treatments I have used. Also, I didn't find that this product was particularly harsh on my coloured hair and it didn't strip the colour out, which is a huge bonus!

Overall, I liked the product and found the results to be better than most other conditioning treatments I have used. I would recommend it, but can't honestly say that I would RAVE about it, as the impressive results obtained from the first few washes didn't last.

Four stars from me! :-D Thank you for reading.

Summary: IT WORKED WONDERS......... AT FIRST!
