Just before my summer holiday I spotted the Aussie range of shampoos and conditioners on offer in my local Tesco. If you bought 2 Aussie products the cost would be just £5. I choose a bottle of colourmate shampoo (already reviewed) and a bottle of 3 minute miracle reconstructor. The 3 minute usually sells for around the £4 mark for a 250ml bottle.. The blurb on the back of the bottle promised that this conditioner would transform my unruly dry hair into something that was sleek and shiny. I could hardly wait to try it!

The bottle is a plastic cylinder with grooves at each side, presumably to help you grip the bottle with wet hands. To open the bottle you need to peel away the paper label and squeeze out the shampoo. There is no way of resealing the bottle. I was a bit worried that the conditioner would escape into my shower but it hasn't!

The conditioner is a lovely apricot colour and quite thick. The scent is sweet and quite pleasant although it doesn't last long once your hair has been dried. To use you first need to shampoo your hair and remove excess water. Then put a splodge of the conditioner into your hand, rub into your hair and leave for 2-3 minutes. I tend to use this in the bath so I can have a soak and listen to some music at the same time. Once the time is up you rinse with warm water and that's it!

Before I tell you my thoughts on this conditioner let me tell you a bit about the product. On reading the back of the bottle I see that this conditioner is enriched with Australian balm mint .I did a bit of research and found that the Australian balm mint is indeed a native of Australia, Victoria to be precise! It is a hardwood shrub and is said to have anti-bacterial and antifungal properties. There is no mention of it having any properties that would help moisturize. I was also disappointed to discover that the Aussie brand is nothing to do with Australia but is owned by the giant Proctor and Gamble, although there is no mention of this on the bottle! Somehow this makes the brand less appealing for me!

Anyway that aside, how does it perform? I really like the Aussie colourmate shampoo I bought and will be buying it again. I have used this conditioner several times now and each time have left in on for more than 3 minutes. It does leave my hair feeling soft and with less frizz. However it hasn't really performed any better than other conditioners I have used. My hair is still suffering form dry ends after being exposed to the lovely French sunshine and a lot of swimming in chlorinated pools. Maybe it really will take a miracle to put it right! Overall this is not a bad product but I don't think I will be buying it again.

Summary: conditioner from proctor and Gamble!

This stuff is okay, but never quite lives up to the price! Glad to hear that you don't think it's a miracle either :-) x
