Advantages: Works very well, not very expensive

Disadvantages: Wish it were all natural and organic but you can't have everything

My hair is a little past my shoulders, it's dry and quite fine and I do use hair straighteners on it, plus I colour it, so as you can probably imagine it does sometime need some extra help in looking healthy. I have been using Aussie 3 Minute Miracle for years on and off, and have just done so tonight after noticing my hair needed a bit of a boost. I'm quite a fan of this product, although I have to admit it does fall somewhat short of miraculous.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle comes in a white plastic bottle with a somewhat unusual design - the product comes out of the bottom of the bottle rather than the top! I'm still not exactly sure how this works but it does work and the stuff doesn't all come out on its own, but sits in the bottle until you shake some out onto your hands. Maybe this is the miracle referred to in the name of the product?

So to apply this you first wash your hair, then squeeze/shake out a bit of this cream. The amount you will want to use will depend on the length and thickness of your hair but I use an amount about the size of a 10p piece, to give you some idea. The instructions on the bottle tell you to use a "splodge"! This is one of the things I like about this product - it doesn't take itself too seriously. It also recommends that you use it in the bath with music playing and candles lit! This brought a smile to my face.

You are meant to leave this on for 1 to 3 minutes depending on how much of a "treat" your hair needs. I always go the full 3 minutes, and sometimes if my hair is in a really bad state I take the time to give it a special treatment. What I do is apply this, then get out of the bath/shower and put a shower cap on (the kind they used to give out for free in hotel rooms). Then I dry myself off and put on my dressing gown and then use my blowdryer to warm up this cream on my hair through the shower cap. Hopefully that description makes sense! The heat helps the cream soak into my hair. I do this for 3-4 minutes and then go read a book for half an hour or so while the cream really sinks in. Then I wash it all off and hey, presto, my hair is in excellent condition again!

I do have to say that this isn't my absolute number one favourite deep conditioning treatment. That honour has to go to Matrix Systeme Biolage which is absolutely amazing, but with a price tag to match! This Aussie stuff is a very acceptable substitute, though. It smells nice, works well, and best of all it's cheap! In fact it's on special at Tesco for 2 for £5 at the moment, so it's a good time to snap some up!

Summary: Not exactly miraculous but close
