Advantages: Offers protection from heat damage

Disadvantages: Can't see how much is used, can make your hair feel greasy

I must confess that for a number of years when it comes to blow drying and straightening my hair, I have neglected the protection side of things a little bit... i.e I've not bothered at all. This all changed a couple of months ago when I was buying some new shampoo and conditioner in Boots, I wanted some from the Aussie range which at the time happened to be on a 3 for 2 offer. I ummed and arred about what freebie to choose and ending up with the Heat Protection spray.

The spray comes in a white bottle which has a purple label, it has a pump spray rather than an aerosol type spray which is also purple and the lid is made from clear plastic. With it being a pump it isn't quite as powerful so you have to do a few squirts to cover where you need to.

To use you should dry your hair as much as possible with a towel and then spray through your hair before blow drying. The instructions tell you to spray liberally which I did the first couple of times I used it but I found that my hair felt greasier than usual so after this I applied less which solved the problem.

When it was dry I straightened as I normally would.

I have been using the spray every time I have blow dried my hair since I bought it, and there has been a definite improvement in the condition of my hair. I have had less breakages and it looks less fly away than it did before, it looks more shiny too. To touch it feels soft. It must be doing something as a few people have commented on my hair recently, especially about it being shiny.

This also has a nice smell to it, which I guess is the Australian jojoba seed oil used in it. It isn't one of those smells which will over power you and make putting a perfume on pointless, but I do get a waft of it when I "swish" my hair about it.

If I was to change something about this product it would be the bottle, I would make it out of a clear plastic so I could see how much of it was left. I've been using it for almost two months now (every other day) and it feels like there is about half of it left but I can't say for sure.

My only other criticism is how greasy it made my hair feel when I used it as instructed, but as this was only a problem until I used a bit less it's not a huge one.

The bottle contains 150ml of spray and currently costs £4.49 in Boots. At the time of writing it is in a a 2 for £6 offer.

Thanks for reading.

It is annoying when you can't see how much stuff you have used.
