My friend introduced me to Aussie shampoos about a year or so ago and although I've found them good and nice they have been nothing special and not worked wonders with my hair either. One day whilst in Savers though I spotted an intruder on the Aussie products shelf - a tall 500ml bright PURPLE bottle - it was lush! Most aussie products seem to come in the quite plain cream bottles, are pretty pricey and boring to look at in my opinion. This was different though, that bright purple stood out a mile it was real eyecatching and prominent and the price was even better - just £1.99 for this large 500ml bottle. I hadn't used it before but I just had to get it and give it a try!

The bottle still has the usual bergundy design at top saying Aussie with that white Kangaroo above it. The writing underneath however is a bit more funky with bright fruity orange and glowing minty green. The bottle is quite busy with information for all of us keen shoppers and provides us with exactly what we need to know. This shampoo has the longest name I've ever seen - Aussie Dual Personality Root Cleanser Plus Tip Mender Shampoo - Don't let the unappealing extra long title put you off though. The title says it all though really - this shampoo is specifically designed for your roots and your tips of your hair. A combination shampoo ? I've heard of shampoo and conditioners in one which don't really do it for me but as for shampoos I've only ever seen them designed for one hair problem so can this shampoo really do two jobs in one and fix my greasy manky roots as well as tame my frizzy unruly ends.

My hair isn't in rotten condition but it isn't in the greatest either and now and then a bit of control needs to be thrown into it as it can become a little wild. My roots end up greasy and the ends of my hair are flyaway and messy. I put my hair through alot though, what with blowdrying, brushing and straightening on top of that so I'm always looking for that miracle shampoo that will put back into my hair the oomph and energy it deserves.

It was time to get down to business - I pushed down on the lid - the lid is one that you just apply a little pressure on with your thumb and a small gap rises for you to gently squeeze the shampoo out, press it back down again and your shampoo can't escape - saves alot of mess. The shampoo has a stunning fruity fragrance, very similar to other aussie products I think but it has that added zing to it. It is creamy and an extravagant pearl colour and not too thick either. Massaging into my hair and scalp it began lathering up tremendously it was heaven really working it through my hair the fruity and sweet fresh fragrance was intense and my whole head was beginning to feel revitalised and almost new. Although quite a creamy shampoo I had no trouble in rinsing it back off my hair either it rinsed off thoroughly and the scent lingered which was just a dream.

I didn't use any conditioner with the shampoo and I did have a few loose tangles nothing unmanageable and painful though like usual so I was extremely impressed. My hair felt soft and healthy whilst wet so I was hoping for the same when it was dry too. I blowdryed and styled my hair the way I usually do and as the blowdryer blew I kept getting strong wafts of scented air flowing up my nose, I love the smell it is so sweet, clean and fruity it's stunning. After styling my hair and even straightening it too I smoothed my fingers from the roots of my hair right down to the ends inspecting every strand near enough. My hair was far from greasy at the roots and even had a little lift and bounce to it too, gliding my fingers through my hair the softness was sumptuous it felt like I had new hair it felt healthy and untouched so innocently clean and pure as if straighteners and hairdye had never even looked at it.

I have used a conditioner with this shampoo but only once a week maybe as I havn't needed too use it I've just wanted too as now and then I enjoy a deep conditioning treatment to my hair and scalp to help nourish it although I feel the shampoo alone was nourishing my hair enough and leaving it looking radiant and healthy.

A little of this shampoo really does go along way and I have found it has kept my hair looking and feeling luscious. I can't reccomend it enough, especially for the price and for how long it lasts - I have had my bottle now for at least 4 months and there is still some left for a good few washes yet. It is an absolutely gorgeous shampoo that makes washing my hair a real pleasure rather than a chore.
