Advantages: detangles hair, fairly cheap
Disadvantages: hard to see if it's doing any long-term good
I bought Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance back when I was using a Timotei conditioner that I recently reviewed. The conditioner wasn't very good, and didn't detangle my hair as well as I had hoped, so I decided a leave in conditioner could be the answer to my problems.
My hair, just to give you a brief idea, is quite long, very thick, coloured and straightened with extremely hot GHD's quite regularly, therefore unfortunately it is quite damaged from all that abuse! When looking for a leave-in spray, I chose the Aussie brand as I have been using their intensive conditioner for a while now, and not long before purchasing this, I had read a positive review of it on here.
The conditioner comes in a white spray bottle with a purple label giving the product name and a bit of info about what it does.
The product contains Australian Jojoba oil which they say will detangle it and protect the hair from everyday wear and tear.
On spraying the conditioner onto the hair, I noticed that it has a quite fresh natural smell, which I would assume must be the jojoba, although I'll admit I don't know what jojoba smells like!
I find only a few sprays of the hair insurance are required to be enough to detangle my hair. Each time you press the spray pump down, quite a lot of the product comes out and it almost soaks the hair if you get too close, so I find it best to spray at a bit of a distance whilst hair is still damp.
Other than its detangling capabilities, I cannot say that I have noticed a huge difference to the condition of my hair, although my hairdresser did recently comment that my hair was looking in good condition for its length, so perhaps it is doing some good, and I just have not noticed. I do think its hard to tell what effects this is having on your hair - I've been using it for around a month now, but I cannot tell if it is any less damaged than it was before I started to use it. There is certainly no noticeable difference.
A 250ml bottle of this costs £3.44 from Boots.
Overall, I found this good as a leave in conditioner, in that it detangled my hair when the conditioner I had been using didn't. I have continued to use it, in the hope it is doing my hair some good, but like I mentioned, it's pretty difficult to tell what sort of impact it is having.
