Advantages: Application wise it was easy to use (its a spray) and it did work very well.

Disadvantages: You need ALOT to get a good result, and there was no scent left behind!

I have had this product for about 8 months now. Used it once, did not use it again. Until now.

I decided to use it after having to go to my local gym for a workout instead of my normal nice gym which was closed for the day. I should really have gone elsewhere as this gym has the worst showers in the world! They are like ice! So knowing I would be able to stand the water to shampoo my hair, but not the same guts to condition it, I thought I would rely on the bottle of Aussie Hair Insurance.

The product itself is a leave in hair conditioner. It is applied via a spray and I would say it is generally used for dry or damaged hair where you have washed your hair and it needs that little bit more conditioner.

I washed my hair with shampoo, in the drizzle that was the shower. Walked out into the overly cold air conditioned changing rooms (why do they do this?!) and after getting changed, attempted to brush my hair.
My hair is short- chin length, but the brush was having none of it and I actually did get the brush stuck, so what did I do? I sprayed about 4 squirts of the spray and tried again. Still nothing. After wrangling the brush out of my hair again, I sprayed all over the brush, and again over my hair, I think I must have sprayed about 8-10 times in total, and 4 on the brush. my hair was soaked in the stuff by the time I had finished, but I can say, it was very very easy to brush through afterwards!

I did not really notice a huge smell with this- there was that mild "Aussie" smell- you know, the one that all the products smell of! But nothing that really stood out which was a bit of a shame as I wouldn't have minded a perfume to add to my hair after washing and conditioning it.

I dried my hair, it dried very easily- not any different to normal- no straighter, no curlier, no frizzier. It looked fine but more importantly, it did not feel nasty and straw like! I think I am sold! I normally always use serum, (John Freida) and hair straightening spray or hair protection (protection from heat) spray (by either Matrix, John Freida, Mop or TIGI Bed head Curl rocks), but these both do not leave my hair looking or feeling any better, the Aussie Hair Insurance did.

I know for a fact I bought this on offer at the time for £1 from Boots- it was free because it was on offer, Buy One Get One Free, and this product was down to £2.99 in the store I was in at the time. I have seen it since on the Boots Website and its £3.37, and would imagine its similar in places like Tescos, Sainsburys and Superdrug. But watch out for offers and vouchers and shop around as its often included in offers like buy one get one free. I would think this bottle would last me about a month? I did need alot, but its hard to tell with it being a spray- you can get through about 21 uses per month I think, so its quite good value for money and works out similar value to the other conditioners you would wash.

My only draw back would be that you really do need to soak your hair in the stuff to get a good result- its worth doing so as my hair feels very silky right now, but in a freezing cold changing room, it was not so welcome as its a very dense spray! I had applied this in the past and not noticed anything of any use to me, but it appears you need more then 2 or 3 spays- even though 2 or 3 sprays really does seem to cover all your hair (especially when short). This works very well when sprayed to both your hair, and your brush/comb. I will be using this again.

Summary: I will be buying this again, it works excellently well without a wash-out conditioner so I am sold!
