Advantages: Works miracles

Disadvantages: I don't love the smell.

I'm an Aussie haircare junkie, it has to be said. I have shoulder length fine curly hair, but having said that there's a lot of individual hairs, and they are mean. I've been known to get entangled with the buttons of strangers on crowded buses just from standing too close, and the hair's about as strong as nylon fibre - if you run your hands through my hair it could split your fingernails, and it tangles easily. Most products that cater for fine hair also insist on adding as much volume as they can decently get away with, and since my hair looks like 1973 on a good day this is Not What I Want. At All.

The packaging's the standard Aussie packaging, white bottle, Aussie logo, and so on. It has a spray top and the instructions label tell you to use it after the Miracle Moist shampoo/conditioner. I use the Colour Mate shampoo because it's gentler (although my hair's my own colour, I hasten to add) and the Miracle Moist conditioner. So I'm starting with gently washed, thoroughly conditioned hair, and the extra leave-in conditioner is to protect my hair from the elements, the occasional hairdrying I do and the "gentle" ministrations of my daughter, who's likely to pull it and dribble on it - hardly good for the hair.

The two main things I love about Miracle Hair Insurance are first that it's very conditioning. I need an extra conditioner as well as the wash-out one otherwise I have an unruly red shrub atop my head instead of the tame pretty curls I crave. The other thing is that it is one of only two products I've ever found that effectively detangle my hair and keep it detangled for more than a minute and a half. (The other, if you're interested, is Mane and Tails, which was designed for horsehair and is only available in the USA.)

Use as follows:

Wash, condition, towel dry. Spray in the conditioner and comb it through. I like to wait three or four minutes before combing to give it time to work.

A great product for tangle-prone hair, and very often on special offer at supermarkets and Boots.

Summary: Wonderful product for problem hair.

My hair is very ... special ;)

I wasn't kidding when I said you could split your fingernails on it. It also eats the teeth of combs.

I love this stuff too! How funny that the only other thing you've had any success with is for horses' manes!! :)
