Advantages: Makes your hair gorgeous and shiny

Disadvantages: You smell like a walking sweet shop

Okay okay-I admit I may need to eat my words a little. My previous Aussie review was not entirely glowing; I had found their products were expensively mediocre. And then I found this... 'Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave in Conditioner for Weak, Distressed Hair'. So whilst they certainly aren't going to win the 2002 Concise Title Award, believe me this conditioner is glorious.

The bottle says 'Vitamin-enriched Conditioner - Strengthens and Detangles with Australian Tea Tree Oil' and goes on to list 'Vitamin A Palmitate, Pro-Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Hydrochloride, Vitamin E Acetate, Vitamin H, Niacin, Folic Acid, Potassium Chloride, Zinc Yeast Derivative and Magnesium Sulphate' whilst we all nod our heads knowingly and say "Aah, Magnesium Sulphate. That would explain it." I have no idea what any of these things are, and they sound more like an alchemists formula for turning lead into gold but they make my hair so shiny I'm not going to question it too much.

It comes in 250 ml bottles, and you only need to use a micro-squirt at a time so it's definitely good value. The instructions are enough to delight the lazy hair care enthusiast like me:

STEP ONE: Wash hair
STEP TWO: Towel dry hair
STEP THREE: Spray some Aussie Miracle stuff on hair
STEP FOUR: Comb through
STEP FIVE: Wait for hair to dry and then marvel at the new and improved shiny you

I think I have already mentioned my stupid hair in a previous review, and this product makes it significantly less stupid. You see my problem is that my hair is neither normal, greasy, limp or fine-it has a catagory all of its own which is best described as 'just a bit odd, depending on the weather'. However, Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance stuck it all down flat, made it lovely and untangly and - have I mentioned it yet? - shiny. Hurrah! A hair care product that does what it's meant to!

So now the down si
de. I seem to be taking a controversial stance compared to the other reviews but it really does smell foul. I don't know who it is that adds smells to Aussie bottles of hair stuff, but they have got a serious obsession with sickly sweet aromas. If you're standing in an unventilated area you can see people sniffing the air around you, and wrinkling their noses and it can be a teeny bit embarrassing. It does clash with your perfume a little if you don't allow your head time to air and hence diffuse the aroma, and I wouldn't recommend standing near small children as I have noticed it has a bit of a Pied Piper of Hamblyn effect, in that they start following you in the hope they'll get sweets. A very unnerving experience...

The other down side is that if you over-dry your hair before applying the product it doesn't comb through properly, and you end up looking like your hair is covered in wierd grease spots. It's not an attractive look.

So, this product is perfect for people who don't mind smelling like Woolworths Pick'n'Mix section, and not far off for people who do. It makes your hair lovely, shiny and manageable. Just don't forget to give your head time to air before going near children, or you really will regret it.

Thanks for the op! This stuff is great, the only thing that makes my hair tangle free, and I certainly notice if I forget to spray it on. Hadn't noticed about the smell though and I haven't seen lines of children following me, maybe I should be paying more attention!
