Advantages: Great end result, beautiful smell, classy packaging
Disadvantages: The price
The Aussie brand is well known for being quite pricey but good quality (at least this is what I have been told). After purchasing some for a holiday treat, I am hooked! Generally I would walk straight pas that Aussie section in favour of the cheaper Herbal Essences (works out at at a pound, cheaper for the same amount - £0.84 for 100ml, Boots as of publishing date, compared to the Aussie £1.40 for 100ml, Boots as of publishing date). So is it worth the money?
Packaging
Housed in a tall, slim, white bottle (like most Aussie products), the conditioner, with the Aussie hair care range, stands out on the shelf. It is the little details which make me realise why Aussie can claim that little bit more. These include the kangaroos jumping around the neck, pushed out of the plastic, the rich colours used on the printed on label and the unique language used on the back. I really like the way the description manages to convey a feeling of style whilst not being too pompous - definately Australian.
Promises
The conditioner claims to transform your hair 'into a soft, luscious, swingy curtain of gorgeousness' and help banish those fickle flyaways. Which girl (or even guy) wouldn't want a soft curtain of hair caressing their cheek? However I was quite sure that the conditioner (and the shampoo which I also purchased, see corresponding review) would let me down in some way; with talk like that, my hopes were surely set up for a fall - weren't they?
Smell
Once I opened the bottle, and smelt the gorgeous concoction inside, I couldn't wait to put it in my hair and smell it for the rest of the day. The conditioner has a smooth and sweet smell like a posh, refined bubblegum (does such a thing exist?). However, I have found that it would linger for much longer than that, though this time probably increases the more you apply (I use sparingly as the I have got the luxury to purchase a new bottle every two weeks, worst luck!).
Product
When the time came to apply it to my hair, I was actually quite excited (sad, I know) and couldn't wait to see if any of the promises become a reality. The product has a lid which requires you to push one side down which in turn reveals a small hole on the raised other side. When squeezed the conidtioner comes out easily and is a creamy, baby blue with pearly streaks. After using Aussie Luscious Long Shampoo, I squeezed a small amount of this conditioner (about the size of a grape) and massaged it into my hair. Now my hair is just below shoulder length and it covered it easily.
When it came to washing it out, it came out easily and left my hair feeling really nourished and soft - very good so far. I would recommend leaving it in for a minute or so as this does seem help. Also, try applying from the top of your hair and working down; doing the same when washing out helps all your hair to be covered.
Finally: drying. After towel drying slightly, which usually leaves my hair in a tangly mess, I was able to run a brush through with unexpected ease. After drying my hair felt immensly soft and light and very well conditioned. My blonde highlights did also seem to be enhanced and my hair just seemed generally in very good quality.
Overall I would definately recommend this conditioner and it works very well on long hair. It left my hair feeling as if I had just walked out of a salon, and stayed like that for the whole day. Definately look out for deals to save money - it is a shame that the conditioner, though 50ml less, is the same price as the shampoo.
Summary: Keep an eye out for deals to stock up
