What is it? The Aussie leave in conditioner is an add on to a regular hair care routine. It is sprayed into slightly damp towel dried hair before styling or properly drying the hair. Although it is applied at the same time and in the same way as a heat protection product it does not have the same effect. Leave in conditioner helps to keep hair soft and silky between washes. Why did I buy it? I am a huge fan of the Aussie brand (I have all ready written a review on the Aussie Miracle moist shampoo, the Aussie miracle moist conditioner and the Aussie dual personality heat protection leave in spray). It was recommended to me by my hair dresser as a way of keeping my hair soft and healthy. When i brought it from my local Sainsburys I did so because it was on offer. The price of all the Aussie products means that I only really buy them when they are part of some sort of offer and use them like they are a treat for my hair. Use I quickly became hooked by the product and began using it every day. To apply I sprayed it 3-4 times into my hand and ran the product through my hair, i repeated this 2-3 times and focused mainly on the ends of my hair which are the quickest to become damaged. I then brushed my hair through to make sure the product had been worked in properly. If i used it after washing my hair I would also apply heat protection to my semi dry hair and then dry it with a hair dryer. If I hadn''''t just washed my hair then I would wet it slightly and follow the same process. Results My hair definitely felt healthier and softer once I started using the product and it left a sweet but subtle smell in my hair. Using as often as I did meant that my hair got greasy quicker so the time between washes became shorter, so now I only use it once or twice a week which also means that the bottle lasts longer. Overall I would recommend this product for occasional use to all hair types. It does exactly what you ask of it but it isn''''t a necessary part of a hair care routine and for me it has become more of a treat than a regular occurrence.
Bought this from Boots the other day when it was on sale. The Boots marketing team really deserves a price, they can get you to buy anything in store! I was looking for a conditioner but had decided to get an additional leave in conditioner as a film of protection when I blow dry my hair. In contrast to some other reviews that I have read, for my hair type (I have thick, dark and coarse hair) it didn''t do as much magic as it did for them. For one my hair became all knotty when I had this product on, really it just felt like I had a thin layer of gel on the roots of my hair. If the Aussie Luscious Long leave in conditioner suits your hair type, you''re in luck! The product actually smells pretty good, it has a sweet, musky scent to it. The scent, however, doesn''t stay on for too long. Once I finished blowdrying my hair most of the smell had already been heated off. I was hoping on replacing my regular conditioner with this product occasionally to save some time in the shower, sadly I have yet to find a leave-in conditioner that can perform well. My search continues :( I still have a lot of faith in other Aussie hair products though, the shampoo and regular conditioner works great for me. Don''t know if they should develop another range of Aussie haircare products (or maybe just the leave-in conditioner) for asian hair types, but with the fresh scent, spray on application and packaging I really thought it''d be one of my staples :(
I bought this leave in conditioner a long with 2 other Aussie products when Superdrug had a 3 for £10 promotion going on. I had heard great things about this brand and I was keen to try it out because I'm always on the look out for something to help tame my frizz.
The packaging is a simple non offensive white bottle with a pump. I really do not like the pump as it sometimes gets stuck and I really need to press down hard to let the product out. However the pump can easily be removed and repalced by a different one which I am hoping to do soon.
The leave in conditoner contains Australian Eucalyptus extract and Avocado oil. Aussie claims that this well help to de-tangle long hair and protect it from the heat of a blow dryer.
After towel drying my hair, I followed the directions and sprayed the product all throughout my hair focusing on the ends as I would be straightening my hair. I combed it through my hair evenly and left my hair to dry naturally.
I immediately noticed the smell of the product. It isn't overly sweet which I like but it is quite feminine. The smell is unusual but really nice. It does have the same type of smell that other Aussie products have.
I also noticed that the spray is quite sticky because I got some on my hands. I am not a huge fan of putting sticky products in my hair as it is naturally quite greasy. This is to be expected as it does contain Avocado oil but it didn't bother me too much.
Once my hair had dried I noticed that it was a lot softer than usual and that my hair was a lot smoother. I tend to have a lot of fly aways and this helped to reduce them a lot. My hair also looked really shiny and smelt amazing.
I then proceeded to straighten my hair to see if it would really protect my hair from the heat. After straightening I immediately checked for damage at my hair ends. I didn't find any apart from the small amount I already had which was great. My hair was also really smooth and not frizzy at all.
However my one main problem with the product was that it didn't really do a good job in detangling my hair. I still had to comb it several times while straightening. This means that I am still on the look out for the perfect leave in conditioner that will de tangle my hair.
This product isn't bad at all and I will use it all up. However I do think that there are better leave in conditioners out there. If you want to buy this it is currently on sale at £3.50 in Superdrug. The original price is £5 which I personally would not pay.
Overall this does a good job at protecting my hair from heat whilst leaving it smooth and frizz free. It also smells divine! Unfortunately it didn't do a great job at detangling my hair so that is why I will not repurchase.
As I have run out of my usual shampoo - Lush's "Big" shampoo, I have for a number of months now been trying many different shampoos and conditioners and swapping and changing between a few. Therefore there may be quite a number of reviews coming up on shampoos and conditioners as I have been saving them up. One of the many brands I have returned to is Aussie. I have always been a fan of the range and continued using the conditioners with Lush's Big. One of my favourites is the range of leave in conditioners, which suit me perfectly when I'm in a rush. These have become more useful as my every growing pregnant bump makes washing my hair over the bath a little awkward so anything that saves time bending is a bonus.
Aussie's Luscious Long Leave in Conditioner was a purchase from ages ago but had been left at the back of the cupboard while I depleted my 3 Minute Miracle. The Luscious Long is a spray bottle of 250 ml. This is usually priced at around £4.50-£4.99, but is often on offer in Morrison's etc for 3 for £10. The bottle is while in colour with a delicate scroll pattern in purple around the brand logo. On the back is directions of use and ingredients along with the well-known casual description typical of the Aussie range. Aussie claim this leave in conditioner to take long hair "beyond the bounds of decency, protecting it from the blow drying heat and detangling it from all your everyday love knots".
To apply you can simply spray on either damp or dry hair and comb through. Then dry as normal. The spray comes out of the nozzle in a fine mist and coats hair easily. It also smells divine when applied and you can pick up the eucalyptus straight away. The conditioner is designed specifically for long hair that needs that extra help to detangle - a problem I suffer with, and it really does work to detangle easily and without snagging your hair. The conditioner contains Avocado Oil and Eucalyptus extract. The Eucalyptus is designed to improve the strength and vitality of hair while the Avocado oil help nourish your locks.
After use my hair feels conditioned as well as it would be using a regular conditioner and you would not know I had used a spray. My hair stays shiny and nourished and detangled., and on another plus point, smells great all day. The spray also works just as well on dry hair to give a bit of extra conditioning when needed and is non-greasy so does not weigh your hair down.
The 250ml bottle has lasted me months and months and I'm not even half way through it. For under fiver this really is excellent value for money.
***WHAT INSPIRED ME TO USE THIS AUSSIE PRODUCT?***
My friend recently dyed my hair and after washing the colour out and shampooing my hair she used this leave in conditioner and my hair was lovely and smoother, softer and silky and I have to say it was the softest I have ever felt it before, so I thought I would buy some of this myself to try out in my hair. Even though I have heard out the Aussie products before I have never really been inspired to use them as I didn't think they were a very popular brand and the bottle and packaging to their products look so boring. As they say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, right?
***MIRACLE HAIR INSURANCE LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER***
This conditioner comes in a rather plain looking white plastic bottle with a spray pump to help you apply it evenly to the hair. Around the top of the bottle there is a kangaroo shape which is embossed onto the bottle. The product information is printed onto the bottle rather than having a separate label for the bottle. This conditioner is a saviour for weak, distressed hair. The Aussie formula with jojoba seed oil helps to detangle and protect and smells gorgeous. It's a must have for the beach and makes styling easier. The Jojoba Oil helps to detangle the hair from everyday wear and tear.
***ABOUT JOJOBA OIL***
Jojoba is grown for the liquid wax (jojoba oil), which is in the plants seeds. Jojoba oil is easily refined to an odourless, colourless and oxidatively stable, and is often used in cosmetics as a moisturiser and as carrier oil for speciality fragrances. Most jojoba oil is consumed as an ingredient in cosmetics and personal care products, especially skin care and hair care, but can also be found in anti-aging and sun care products as well.
***USING THE LEAVE IN CONDITIONER***
After towel drying my hair I simply sprayed an appropriate amount of this product into my hair then combed it through using a wide tooth comb. This conditioner smells really nice when spraying it into my hair. As this bottle has a spray pump this makes it easier to apply the product evenly through the hair.
After blow drying my hair the smell of the product was still in my hair which was nice as most smells to leave in conditioners often disappear quite quickly. My hair was definitely a lot softer to touch and it looked smoother as well as I didn't have random frizzy, wispy bits coming out from the top of my hair either. Because my hair looked and felt smoother and softer it also made my hair look a lot healthier as well.
After straightening my hair (which I tend to do everyday), my hair still remained soft and smooth and it looked healthy and shiny. In fact my hair felt and looked as though I had just walked out of a hair-dresser. My sister even commented on how nice and sleek my hair looked.
The Aussie range is available from boots at £3.49 for this 250ml bottle. You can also buy it online from www.boots.com. This range can also be brought in Superdrug, and at the moment they have an offer on all Aussie products which is any 2 products for £6.00 which is for a limited period. You may also find this range is some good supermarkets as well such as Tesco and Sainsbury's.
***OTHER PRODUCTS IN THE AUSSIE RANGE***

I was very pleased with this product and would definitely recommend it to other buyers. As this product was so good I would also try the other products in the Aussie range. This range not only works but is at an affordable price as well and available in many shops, so is easy to get hold of. Boots and Super-drug sometimes have offers on this range as well, which makes it a great bargain when stocking up on these items. I would be very surprised if you sued this product and didn't like it yourself as I thought it was brilliant. This product is something that I will definitely continue to sue and will buy again when I run out of the bottle.
(Review also on ciao)
My hair gets damaged easily, i have a lot of fine curly hair, that i straighten often, and this can sometimes leave it feeling a little straw like. The aussie luscious long leave - in conditoner costs £4.30 from superdrug for 250mls, and lasts for a very long time. I've had it for approximately 6 months and it doesn't feel even half empty yet. It comes in a clean white bottle, with a pump- spray top. The instructions for use on the bottle recommend using it on towel dried hair, comb through, and then style as usual. It is said to contail eucalyptus extract and avocado oil to soften your hair.
I tend to use approximately 4-5 pumps on my medium length hair, and this does suffice. The conditioner is of liquid consistance and smells rather sweet. I combed it through, and i feel that it does make the tangles in my hair slide out much easier than they would without this product.
When my hair dried, it did feel very soft, and the ends especially felt better than normal. As an adjunct to normal conditioner i think this can be a useful product, especially as it isn't terribly expensive.
As soon as I used this product I knew I would have to review it so that other people could get to know how good it is! I straighten, dye and bleach my hair way too much and that leaves it dry, broken and not so nice, so my sister recommended this to use, saying that it made her hair really nice.
It cost £3.60 from Boots for a 250ml bottle, which I think is a good price as it should last ages. This is the first product I have tried from the Aussie range and I wouldn't really have been drawn to it because the bottles are all quite plain looking- white with a cream and purple label on the front. However when I read the label I was surprised to see that the writing style for directions and things was different to usual, and I found it quite amusing. The comical, informal writing style was different and encouraged me to buy the product.
The directions on the bottle tell you to spray all over towel dried hair, comb through, and leave it. When doing this I found that the bottle has a pump at the top which was easy to use and also that it is a liquid based product rather than a mousse. I also noticed that it had a really nice, sweet smell which lingers for a few hours, too. I should also note that when I use this product, I also use an ordinary conditioner first.
Even after just one use this product left my hair silky, shiny and soft. I was already in love with it. After a couple more uses, the condition of my hair has further increased. Another important point is that the leave-in conditioner doesn't leave any greasy residue, like normal conditioner would. It is also supposed to protect hair from heat damage. This is something which is difficult to observe but my hair has become less dry and less broken so I guess it probably is protecting it from heat damage.
I haven't been using this product for long but hardly any of it has been used up so I think it will last a few months. I also noticed yesterday that the Aussie range is on 3 for 2 in Boots so I'm considering buying another one for when mine runs out along with the shampoo and conditioner to go with it. This product is amazing and I'm so glad I discovered it.
I have mid-length hair, which despite conditioning every time I wash it, can still be a bit difficult to comb when wet and results in some breakage. As every hair on my head is precious(!) I was on the lookout for a leave-in conditioner which I thought may help resolve the problem.
I have previously used Aussie haircare products and have been very impressed, though they are a little pricey so I don't tend to go for them all the time. However as I was browsing in Boots they had a 2 for £6 offer on all Aussie Haircare products and so I decided to give the Luscious Long leave in conditioner a whirl. Ordinarily this retails for around the £3.50 mark.
The conditioner contains Australian Eucalyptus extract and Avacado oil which all sound very nourishing and according to the bottle help to de-tangle the hair and help protect it from the heat of the hairdryer. I rarely use a hair dryer as I prefer to let my hair dry naturally but the detangling action sounded promising.
The conditioner comes in a 250ml bottle with a pump on the top to spray the conditioner into the hair. To use spray evenly through clean, towel dried hair, comb through right to the very ends. Then style as usual. The product is liquid based rather than a mousse or cream.
When using this I immediately noticed the difference with significantly less hair ending up in my comb. The comb was able to pass through my hair with ease as my hair was much less knotty. The spray itself has a sweet smell which I love and reminds me a bit of bubblegum. It actually reminded me of Professor Burps Bubbleworks ride at Chessignton (is that still there?!) Once it had dried there was no greasy residue and apart from the lovely smell which lingered I couldn't tell I'd used the product. I tend to wash my hair every other day and my hair was still easy to comb through dry the next day.
I've been using this bottle for a couple of months, at least 3 times a week and have only just got about half way so a bottle lasts ages. I have noticed that the overall condition of my hair has also improved and it looks much more healthy and shiny. Overall I am highly impressed with this product and wouldn't be without it! Recommended!
If I could afford to, I would buy all my hair products from Aussie.
They leave my hair so amazingly soft and silky, and it smells so nice.
This is why I love this little spray.
I bought it ages and ages ago and it has lasted me so long.
I love going on holiday and just spritzing it into my hair on the beach, it stops it getting so damaged from the sun and the sea, and it makes me smell gorgeous! I have often been asked what perfume I am wearing when actually it is just my hair!
This product is made from Australian Jojoba Oils which claims to detangle and protect your hair.
I have tried similar copy cat products for cheaper from WIlkinsons but truely, nothing compares. The smell is so unique and sweet but not sickly. It is really lovely and I wish that my words in this review could emit a smell because the smell is truely the clincher when it comes to this product.
I use this when I get out of the shower on damp hair, or wet hair on holiday in the sun or in the sea as a kind of heat protective spray. It is too greasy to spray onto dry hair but doesn't leave any kind of oily remains when I dry it .
It's great protection and a great treatment. I would also definetely recommend their 3 minute miracle condition which is about 6 quid. Though you can buy a sachet for 99p if not!
I''ve been a fan of the Aussie range of hair care products for years now. The whole range is just fab and there are certain products that I just keep coming back to. One of these is the Luscious Long Leave-In Conditioner, it is a staple feature on my dressing table and I have lost count of the times I have reached for it when having a particularly straggly hair day.
I normally use a regular conditioner on my hair but as my hair is quite long, it can get a bit tangled and straggly in between washes, I find that sometimes it just needs a quick squirt of some leave-in conditoner to tame it and make it even remotely brushable.
There aren't as many leave-in conditoners available in the high street stores as I would have thought and the aussie one was the immediate choice for me. The blurb on the bottle sold it to me straight away and it sounded exactly what I needed. It claimed that it would help de-tangle long hair and provide protection from heat styling... perfect. I picked the conditoner up on a two product for £6 offer from Boots and this range is frequently on some kind of special offer either in Boots or the supermarkets.
I found this conditioner just did the job perfectly for me, it detangled my hair and left it feeling much softer and more silky. It also smells absolutely gorgeous and like no other conditoner I have used. I have also found that this conditioner is great for when I go swimming. Before I get in the pool, I spray my hair quite liberally and I found that this really helps protect my hair from the effects of the chlorine in the pool.
It's a great little product and I would recommend to those with busy lives whol don't always have the time to look after their lucious locks.
What made me buy this product is the smell, it smells SO GOOD. With a brand like Aussie, I didn't think twice about the quality I would get.
As far as price goes, It was quite cheap, I got a deal (2 for £6) from Boots (I also got the deep conditioner) and this is quite reasonable.
The product is nicely packaged, with the writing actually printed on the bottle which I prefer over a tacky sticker. The colours on it are subtle too.
If in a rush, I would just shampoo my hair and put this in as a replacement, the smell is amazing and leaves my hair feeling extremely soft.
However, even if I do put conditioner in, I like to put this in also just to make my hair smell nice, as the shampoos I use don't generally leave the smell in. The smell is not over powering either and does not make you open your window to make the smell go away either.
Using this, however, I feel like you have to be careful not you spray on your roots as this gets greasy quickly, and generally you have to clean your hair more when you use this, even when used sparingly.
Although I'm usually loyal to my favourite hair conditioner brands, I do from time to time, like to give others a chance just to see if there's anything else as comparatively good for my hair. One such brand I have tried on occasion is the Aussie range of hair conditioners.
Having grown up in Australia, I feel I owe it to the ozzies to give their conditioners a test. I also feel that they, if anyone, are all too aware of the damage that hot sun and salty sea can wreak on one's poor hair. And even more so when hair has been coloured over and over.
However, this particular conditioner, from the Aussie Luscious Long range was purchased for my daughters who have waist length hair. Children with long hair generally don't get around to brushing it regularly. Who am I kidding? They NEVER brush it. It's frequently knotty, tangled and lacking in shine and I'm the one who has to struggle with it each morning before school.
After browsing through the massive range of conditioners in Boots one day, I picked up this bottle of Aussie Luscious Long Leave-in conditioner and had a quick read of the blurb just to make sure it would be a suitable choice for my kids and possibly me.
The Aussie company have a very entertaining and fresh approach to the usual boring instructions and marketing hype that you find on a hair product. For example, highlighted inside a purple box on the back of the bottle they state their philosophy as "there's more to life than hair but it is a good place to start". It continues in a similar vein by commenting "...Isn't it time you had mercy, and gave your long hair a long overdue dose of love?" This jolly writing style encouraged me to continue reading the entire bottle and I left the shop having made my purchase.
The Aussie Luscious Long Leave-in conditioner is available in a white 250ml bottle with a pump spray at the top. As with all the others in the range of hair products from the Aussie range it has a recognisable purple kangaroo logo on the front of the bottle.
~~~Who is it Suitable For~~~
This conditioner is a leave-in conditioner that designed for those with long hair with the aim of de-tangling and de-stressing with the aid of its ingredients such as Australian eucalyptus extract and avocado oil. It's also supposed to protect hair from the heat of a hairdryer. There is no mention of age suitability so I have to assume it's fine for children to use.
~~~Directions for Use~~~
The instructions recommend spraying it all over towel dried hair then simply combing through and leaving. You can however, use a blow dryer if you wish and as mentioned earlier, the conditioner provides protection against the heat.
I normally put conditioner on my girls' hair straight after the shampooing otherwise I'd never be able to comb it afterwards so I was a bit worried this conditioner would leave me struggling.
Spraying the conditioner over the hair wasn't difficult. It smelled lovely and fresh and I couldn't see any trace of the product on the hair. When it came to combing through the hair though, it was a struggle. It took me a lot longer than normal and I couldn't tell that there was any kind of conditioner on their hair at all.
Once their hair was dry, the appearance was silky and shiny and it smelled lovely. However, I wouldn't use this conditioner in preference to a regular wash out conditioner as it really didn't detangle as well and this is on young, untreated, undamaged, children's hair.
I can't really see the point of this conditioner unless you were using it for the added protection when using a hairdryer. As it goes, compared with other products I've used in the Aussie range, I was disappointed with this one and won't be buying it again.
