Advantages: yummy smell good enough to eat
Disadvantages: Disadvantages?,,,there aren't any!
I was browsing the shelves of my local Superdrug the other day and noticed a sale on Aussie Miracle Moist. I used to use this a few years ago but the price soon went up and unfortunately I was forced to use the cheaper products. A shame really as this stuff is really worth £3.99 per bottle.
AUSSIE PRODUCTS
-------------------------
There are many products in the Aussie range, all claim to be nourishing for hair with special properties for making the hair and scalp moist. One the best products I have found for this is the 3 minute miracle moist a treatment that is left on then washed off leaving the hair shiny and soft.
The products are split into three categories deep treatment, shampoo/conditioner and leave in conditioning treatment. This review is about the 'Aussie Moist Shampoo' from the shampoo/conditioner category.
PACKAGING
----------------
Some may say the packaging is dull and boring but I quite like it. The cream opaque 30ml bottle is easy to grip with embossed kangaroos running around the top.
The purple pop up lid goes very well with the purple Aussie logo. The logo is very 'Aussie' with a kangaroo in front of a sun. Beneath the kangaroo in bold letters is the word 'AUSSIE'.
The bottle states that the shampoo is for hair that is dry, damaged and 'a bit unhappy'. In purple lettering below this the bottle mentions that it includes Queensland Macadamia Nut.
The funny text below states that it is 'a miracle' but not the sort like child birth or a solar eclipse but its formula with Queensland Macadamia Nut to make hair soft. On the back of the bottle it explains how the Queensland Macadamia Nut has special moisturising oils that has been used in Australia for years. It then goes onto say how an explorer found this secret out in the 19th century and brought it back to us. It then says "what a guy". In fact there were many funny remarks dotted all over the bottle that had me chuckling slightly in the shampoo isle of Superdrug.
THE SMELL
---------------
If standing in the shampoo isle of Superdrug chuckling at the funny text on the bottle was not enough to convince people I was crazy then this might be….I unscrewed the lid and started to sniff the lovely stuff inside. Feeling rather weak at the knees, yes I love the smell of this shampoo.
This is the best part about the product. I would happily wash in it as it's so pleasant. The smell is very strong and is quite sickly. The fizzy sherbet/bubblegum scent wakes me up in the morning with a real kick.
During the day the smell is lingering in my hair and smells beautiful. The smell is not too strong after it has been rinsed out but it's certainly strong enough to get a few comments about the smell. But when buying a shampoo the smell really is the last thing you would consider as 'important'. Its claims that it can moisten dry, damaged and unhappy hair is one I wanted to experience. My straw like hair damaged by the recent weeks of sunshine was in need of a good shampoo.
EFFECTS ON MY HAIR
----------------------------
Well it does exactly as it says on the bottle; it did make my hair very shiny and moist. After the first wash I sat twiddling my hair in my fingers impressed by its appearance. It felt so nice. I was able to brush my hair and it seemed to detangle very well (although this was not mentioned as one of its properties) I was very happy. My hair seemed to dry very well with the hairdryer and looked very shiny and radiant.
I have used this everyday since Tuesday and must say that I can't imagine going back to my old shampoo. It may be expensive but it is certainly worth the money.
VALUE FOR MONEY
-------------------------
I used a very small amount of the shampoo to wash my hair (about a 50 pence piece sized amount). It seemed to lather up very well. It would seem that a small bit of Aussie goes very far. I have worked out that a 300ml bottle should last about 60 washes if I only use the amount I have been using. This is actually far better than my usual shampoo where I only get 20 washes. The shampoo usually costs £3.99 for a 300ml bottle this is about 6p per wash - compared to my normal 10p a wash this is great.
£3.99 may sound like a lot of money but when you work it out statistically like this it is easy to see that it is well worth it. I managed to get the shampoo with the conditioner today for only £4.99. It is not unusual to get a great offer like this in Boots or Superdrug so if you keep an eye open for it you may get a great deal.
SUMMARY
-------------
I would recommend this product if you have dry hair. The smell is heavenly and the after effects last a long time. Many people have asked me what perfume I am wearing when in fact it is my hair. You really get your moneys worth with this product.
The Aussie hair philosophy is: "There's more to life than hair but it's a good place to start".
