Advantages: Smells gorgeous.
Disadvantages: None
I'll keep coming back to you Aussie and you keep my hair soft like silk- not coarse like straw!
My husband and son are always making comments about my collection of shampoos which live on the side of the bath, and in my cabinet, but you see I try many to determine if they keep my hair in good condition. I have a lot of favourites but one I keep coming back to is Aussie Moist as it is really one of the best I have found.
I have coloured blonde hair and I also have weaved highlights making it multi shaded and I also straighten it with my GHDs each morning, so it is chemically processed and electrically abused on a daily basis.
This shampoo is a life saver because day after day it actually makes the hair easy to comb through, and the best attribute -it smells absolutely divine! The shampoo contains macadamia nuts from Queensland in Australia and this is what gives the shampoo its richness, locking in moisture, and making it feel silky. If you use it I guarantee you will be smelling it all day it's like aromatherapy for your hair. You can also follow it with the matching conditioner. It isn't strictly necessary but I do and the results are good but even by itself the comb still glides through the hair. One point to note too is that the hair is left looking shiny and silky, which I really like, and this also stays even on windy days.
I take this shampoo with me to The Outer Hebrides when I go there, and the wind is often so fierce it would test the ability of any shampoo to the limits. It is perfect for the job and it prevents frizz and performs well. I used to come in from a walk along the headland looking like I had been in an electrical accident. My hair would be horizontal like tangled old fuse wire which needed a gallon of mousse to restrain-not with Aussie!
The fragrance is the thing though, it makes each shower feel like you are having it on a desert island surrounded by coconut palms, and it has that gorgeous suntan lotion aroma.
It retails for about £3.49 but if you wait and search it is often on offer and recently I stocked up when it was selling in Tesco for £5 for two bottles.
To use you simply wet the hair and apply. You don't need much at all so it is very economical as it foams well, and your hair feels really fresh, and you'll have that newly washed freshness on your hair all day.
One of my daughters who writes on here (she's theabster) adores this shampoo and eagerly seeks it out when she comes home from university in the holidays.
The Aussie philosophy states that "there's more to life than hair but it's a great place to start" The matching conditioner also says that "bad hair days will be a dark distant memory" Well I think that's a bold statement but actually for once I agree with the sentiments!
I used to think that the shampoo was made in Australia and was imagining boats of Aussie trawling through oceans to get here for weeks on end or being flown in by Quantas, but actually it's made by Procter and Gamble in the UK! But the nuts come from there so given that is most of the success of the shampoo I don't mind.
If you visit www.aussiehair.com you can join the "A list" and then you will get free samples and things when they launch something new.
I have tried all the ones in the range and they are all really good. My son likes the one called "Skip a Step" which is handy if you are having a quick shower and just want to wash your hair without using conditioner.
The moist shampoo is often available in little travel size bottles in Superdrug too which makes it ideal for an overnight treat.
So in conclusion I would say this is up there with the cream of the crop of shampoos for dry hair. It performs well in all areas, and the best thing is the smell- heaven! The shower smells lovely for hours and so does the hair. It's a real treat and one I'll keep coming back to.
Summary: A shampoo which is one of the best.
