Advantages: only £1, good consistency, makes hair feel soft and volumised
Disadvantages: the cherry scent and I want more shine!
I recently saw this in the window of a £ shop so I decided I may as well buy a bottle seeing as though it was so cheap. I?ve previously tried the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor which is a fabulous treat for hair so I thought the conditioner was bound to be good too. Seeing as though I?m having to watch my budget at the moment, price is particularly important for everyday items but I still want to buy things that are effect and Aussie seems to be a popular brand, so I decided that this was definitely worth buying. The £ shop only had this particular Aussie product so I didn?t have the choice of buying the shampoo as well, I presume they must have brought this in bulk as excess from another store. As with most conditioners on the back of Aussie Real Volume conditioner it says that it works best with the equivalent shampoo but I?ll point out that I was using this with a shampoo not designed to give extra volume so that may affect its performance if we?re to believe what the manufacturers tell us. Aussie believe that conditioners only weigh hair down if they coat the hair so they created a ?weightless? formula with ingredients that promote body and fullness while combating flyaways to pump up the volume of your hair! I don?t have a big problem with flyways but a bit of extra volume wouldn?t go amiss so this sounded like a step in the right direction. The packaging isn?t particularly eye-catching as you can see from the picture I guess that it?s supposed to make us think of Australia but I?ve seen far more appealing packaging from other brands. Still I?m not all that bothered by packaging if the product is effective. One thing I did like about it though, was the fact that it has a push top. I like these sort of bottles the most for shampoo and conditioner as screw tops are a nuisance and I hav
e a tendency to pull flip tops off when I?m in a hurry! I can?t deny that when I smelt this I was a little disappointed. I loved the sweet smell of the 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor but this product smells different more like cherries which isn?t a scent that I particularly like so not a great start. The conditioner itself is of a thicker-than-average consistency with a peachy colour. After rinsing my hair felt smooth and silky but I was yet to see what effect it would have on my hair?s volume. Thankfully for me the cherry smell seems to practically disappear after rinsing, I could smell it lightly when I blow-dried my hair but not at all when it was dry. Once I?d blow-dried my hair it felt quite soft and I definitely had a bit more volume that I?d had before using it. It doesn?t score particularly highly on the shine stakes, at least nowhere near as well as the 3 Minute Miracle but it?s not bad. Overall I found it rather an average product but good value for a £. I think it costs about £4 in Boots which I?d be reluctant to pay for it. If you have particularly fine hair or are prone to flyaways then I would recommend it. I also think that if it was used with a volumising shampoo then there would probably be a more visible effect. I did like the consistency of the conditioner as I find that thicker products seem to have a more ?conditioning? effect on my hair but personally I wasn?t keen on the scent. It seems that Aussie products all smell different so I?m sure some of the other types smell nicer than this one. I was impressed by the 3 Minute Miracle, both the scent and the performance, and that is certainly something I would buy again but I don?t think I would buy the Real Volume Conditioner at its full retail price. Thanks for reading!
