Designed for hair that is exposed to heat, predominantly from using straighteners, it is very effective in preventing split or frizzy hair. Whilst it is not cheap, it works very well and lasts a long time.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      4/5

I straighten my hair 3 or 4 times a week and it's always dyed so it's not in the best condition! I have inherited fairly damaged/brittle/frizzy hair from my Mother and even if I looked after my hair perfectly and didn't do anything damaging to it, it still wouldn't be in great condition. So I have to do use a lot of products to keep it in a passable condition and I always use heat defence spray when I straighten my hair.

Aussie is a brand I really trust and I use their products all the time - my shampoo, conditioner and everything is Aussie and I always buy my products when they are on 3 for 2 in Boots (which seems to be all the time!). This leave-in spray comes in a 150ml bottle and I have used it for many years. I find a bottle lasts me a really long time even though I don't use is sparingly - perhaps 6 months or even more so I get my money's worth.

The spray claims to guard your hair from heat-styling implements as well as smoothing it. As I almost always use heat-styling products I can't really say if it protects it as I have nothing to compare it to, but my hair certainly does feel smoother than I would expect after straightening. It's probably more of an insurance thing - I can't noticeably tell the difference, but if I didn't use it I'm sure I would. I've used the Take the Heat Leave-in Cream before and that made my hair crispy and had terrible coverage and didn't do the job as well as this spray - definitely recommend the spray over the cream!

The spray smells really good - it contains Australian Jojoba seed oil and this might be the nice smell. It's really sweet and smells a bit like a hairdresser's salon. I spray this liberally over my hair before I dry it and don't usually reapply before straightening (unless there's a long gap between the two). The spray bottle gives quite a wide coverage, but probably not as wide as I would like if I'm trying to spray my entire head.

I'm going to give it 4/5 - I can't tell a noticeable difference when I use this product, but I do believe it's doing its job because my hair is in a satisfactory condition despite straightening it a lot. It smells nice and I certainly wouldn't be without it. Aussie is a brand I trust so I will continue to use this product unless I hear something fantastic about another heat protection spray.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A good heat preotection product from the Aussie range.

My hair is very dry and prone to heat damage as it is regularly coloured blonde and can be very dry so I am always trying different products to condition and help protect it. I have been using Aussie products for several years and always have some kind of their product on my bathroom shelf. This is part of a range from the Aussie brand, shampoo, conditioner and a conditioning leave in cream can also be purchased and combined use gives the best results.

        The packaging.
The product comes in a white and purple plastic bottle with a clear plastic lid. The Aussie logo is clearly visible on the front and underneath it gives the product name 'take the heat leave in spray in red lettering. It specifies that it s for heat damaged hair and that it is a protective spray to help protect against heat damage. The back of the bottle tells you a bit about the product, the directions, ingredients, some contact information for the brand and gives the bottle size (150ml) The bottle has a purple pump spray at the top to release the product.

        The product.
The product itself is a clear spray. It has a smell which I would describe as fresh with a hint of bubblegum which I absolutely love. Before application shake the bottle well and to apply simply remove the plastic lid and gently press down on the pump to release the product and spray liberally through towel dried hair from roots to ends. Comb through, then blow dry.

        The benefits.
        - Protects against heat damage whilst styling and blow drying.
        - Smoothes hair when using a straightening tool.
        - Contains Australian jojoba seed oil to condition hair.
        - Has a 12 month shelf life once opened.
        - Does not leave hair feeling 'heavy' once dried.

        Price and availability.
The product is available from most beauty stores, supermarkets and on line. It usually retails around £4.99 and is quite often on special offer promotions.

        My verdict.
I would definitely recommend this product. It conditions the hair and helps protect it from heat damage with the benefit of smelling great too.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A must use if you're a heat freak!

After my hair had become damaged from a cheap hairspray and had thinned due to stress related hair loss, my hairdresser advised I switch from my John Frieda products over to Aussie. Having used the Aussie Moist range for a couple of months to allow my hair to improve I then went over to the Take the Heat range.
On purchasing the shampoo and conditioner I noticed my local Boots had an offer on the Aussie range at the time (3 for £10) and so purchased the heat spray too. I had used heat protection sprays before and have even purchased the one made my GHD. None have been as good as this one though.
Spraying on your hair after washing and while its still wet, the spray protects your hair from the heat and helps you avoid the rough, dry ends you can get from blow-drying and styling.
I would definitely recommend trying this product, especially if you regular straighten your hair. I'd also recommend using this product with the other Aussie products in the range for maximum results, especially if you can get them on offer (3 for £10 or 3 for 2).

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Does what it says - protects hair from heat damage - recommended

I used straighteners for years and constantly got spit ends. I then invested in a heat protection spray I found in the pound shop (different to this product) and it really seemed to make a difference and stop the split ends that came from straightening.

When that ran out, I was unable to find the same product again so I bought the product listed here - Aussie, take the heat. This spray works in a similar way to most. You spray onto went hair, e.g. when you come out of the shower, comb through (though I don't always bother) and then dry and straighten etc as normal. There's also no greasyness, residue or smell etc - no one would know you had sprayed it in unless they'd just watched you do it.

As with the previous spray I had tried, it does the job and keeps the split ends at bay. I would not say it is necessarily any better than others products out there, but does as promised from a heat protection point of view. The back also says it is supposed to "help you get that mirror-smooth style". I'm not really sure what that means but I've never had particularly fly away or frizzy hair so perhaps I wouldn't notice the difference. I recently purchased a second bottle to replace my nearly empty first bottle.

The price is reasonable, about £4 but often the whole aussie range is on multi buy at Boots.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Amazing.

I bought this product as it was on offer, from what I can remember I think I purchased it in Boots, anyway, there were many Aussie products which were on offer (2 for £6), so I decided to pick this, and the 3 minute miracle. This, by far, is my favourite of the two. My hair, although straight, tends to get very knotty and tangled after showering, even after using standard conditioner, so I bought this to see if it could work miracles on my untamable mane. It did. I have had the conditioner since around June/July last year and it still hasn't run out yet (I tend to spritz quite a bit on, too). The smell is absolutely GORGEOUS, and the pump is very simple and easy to use. I use my normal shampoo and a little bit of conditioner whilst in the shower, and then spritz my hair as soon as I emerge from the shower. I then potter about the house for a while, and let my hair dry naturally (sometimes I have not even brushed my hair before it dried) and when I brush my hair, it slides through easily. The fragrance sticks to your hair and the conditioner does not make your hair greasy in the slightest. I honestly wish I had discovered this product sooner. Fantastic.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Don't settle for cheap products, this will make a difference to your hair!

I have always had very thick curly hair that doesn't look that great if I just leave it to dry and let it do it's own thing. I usually have to use some kind of heat to get it to do what I want it to do. I use straighteners and curlers to tame it.

          PRODUCT:
I bought this heat spray because I needed something to protect my hair when I apply heat. I wanted something that smells nice and I would buy again. I chose something with a bigger price tag of £4.69 from Boots. At the time of buying, Boots were offering 3 Aussie items for £10, so I chose a hair spray and serum too (which I will also be reviewing).
The spray is 150ml in a white bottle with a pump spray. The best time to use it is after you have washed your hair and apply to damp hair. I Always leave my hair to dry naturally over night and then use straighteners the next day, so I find it best not to use my hair dryer as I don't want to have very damaged hair. I spray it all over and underneath them brush it in well so it gets to all parts of my hair.
The spray it's self is wet so if you are using when your hair is dry, I would suggest waiting until your hair isn't wet from the spray as you can burn your hair doing so.

WHAT IT DOES FOR MY HAIR:
As I have thick hair, I need to make sure my hair is protected from heat as I do have to apply heat regularly to get the style I like best. This product is brilliant for that. I haven't felt like my hair is badly treated and doesn't feel brittle from heat either. When my hair is dry and i have used this heat defence spray, It doesn't feel like i have any product in my hair at all. It doesn't leave a sticky mess or make it look greasy or give it a shine. It it brilliant!

          WORTH THE PRICE?:
I definitely feel this product is worth the cost. I paid £3.33 for it as I bought it in a 3 for £10 offer and I can tell you i would have paid full price for it too. It has a wonderful scent with it which stays on your hair from my experience with other Aussie products, They all have the same scent. It's a wonderful flowery, fresh subtle smell which you would instantly recognise as Aussie if you used the products.

          MY OPINION:
I don't often find I product I want to repeat use and plan to use over and over, but when I found this spray, i would definitely not want to risk it and try a different product. I have found a love for Aussie hair care products and wouldn't look back!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A heat defence spray I would recommend

I have recently had my blond highlights redone resulting in my hair becoming quite dry and probably a bit weak on the ends meaning I need to be extra careful when it comes to straightening it. I realised I had run out of my current heat defence spray so thought it a good idea to purchase myself a new bottle after all my hair was going to need as much protecting as possible, I don't really stick to one brand of heat defence spray and as with a lot of products I buy tend to go for whatever is on offer or works out the cheapest, however when it comes to heat defence for my hair I like to by a branded product so that I know it is going to be of a reasonable quality. After scouring the shelves in my local Superdrug for the cheapest option I decided to go for Aussie Take The Heat Leave In Spray, I have used Aussie products in the past and have always found them to be of a decent quality so I had no doubts that the heat defence spray would be no difference.

          Packaging
Aussie Take the Heat comes in a chunky white plastic bottle, it has a clear label wrapped around the whole bottle, on he front is a lilac square with the words "Take The Heat" in red capitol letters and just below this the words "Leave in Spray" again in red writing. The words "for heat damaged hair" are also written on the label across the middle in very small letters. Right at the top of the purple lilac square is a dark purple band with the word "Aussie" written in it in white and the outline of a kangaroo just about this again in white. Right at the bottom of the lilac square is a sentence about the product, this is written in dark purple writing and is very small, this just states what the product actually claims to do. The back of the bottle is covered in bright red writing apart from a dark purple band across the top of it with the Aussie philosophy written in it in white writing this states "there's more to life than hair but its a good place to start". The rest of the information includes further information about the product, the directions of use and the ingredients. The company contact details are also written clearly on the back should you need to contact them. On the top of the bottle is a dark purple spray pump this also unscrews from the top of the bottle, not that you really need to do this. The pump is covered with a large oversized clear plastic lid allowing you to see the spray pump inside, this is the same width of as the bottle.

          About the Product
Aussie Take The Heat is a formula containing Australian Jojoba seed Oil and is a protective spray which helps to protect the hair from the heat of styling including hair dryers, hair straighteners and curling tongs. This particular product also helps to smooth the hair when using straighteners at the same time as protecting it from the damage the heat may cause, it leaves your hair soft and perfectly controlled. The Australian Jojoba Seed Oil is know for its hair conditioning properties helping to condition your hair whilst protecting it.

          Directions of Use
Using Aussie Take The Heat is easy you simply shake well before use and spray liberally though your hair from root to tips including the underneath. Once applied you then comb through towel dried hair and dry/ style as usual. It is also recommend that you use Aussie Shampoo and a lot their miracle mask, personally I have been using it with my regular shampoo and conditioner and it has worked just as well, this is just their recommendation. The directions are also repeated underneath in a second language.

          Price
As I mentioned at the beginning I brought my Aussie Take The Heat leave in heat defence from Superdrug and it cost me around £4.99 for a 150ml bottle, as far as heat defence spray goes this is very reasonably especially as you only use a small amount at a time, the pump spray distributes the product in a fine mist meaning it is very long lasting. Aussie was the best priced heat defence spray compared to the other brands on offer in Superdrug these were several pounds more expensive so I was pleased with the price of this product it is well worth the money.

          My Opinion
As I have said I have used Aussie products before so I was hopeful that this product within the range would be as good. After towel drying my newly bleached hair I sprayed my hair with the Aussie Take The Heat defence spray ensuring it was completely covered both on top and underneath, the pump spray allowed me to evenly distribute the spray all over my hair in a fine mist ensuring I did not end up with too much in one place. I combed through my hair and began to dry it and straighten it. When I had finished I was very impressed with how smooth and sleek my hair looked, it was shiny and looked well conditioned and perfectly straight. The ends of my hair no longer felt dry or damaged from the bleach and the added heat but looked healthy. I have used the spray on several occasions now and as well as using it on towel dried hair I also mist a bit over dry hair when I am straightening it for added protection. I have been pleased with how good my hair looks. The product is also reasonably priced compared to other brands, it is well worth the money and so far is proving to be long lasting. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who uses heat on their hair to style it, it really does work and protects your hair from added heat of styling tools, I would definitely buy this in the future.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Another excellent product from Aussie

I love the Aussie products, they smell good and really do work!
Packaging - It fits in well with the rest of the product range. It comes in a plastic bottle with a spray top which can be unscrewed! In each bottle you get 150ml.
Price - You can buy this for £4.49 from superdrug. I defiantly think the Aussie products are worth the price
Product - One of the reasons I love this product is because I have noticed that the few times I havent used this in my hair after washing, when it dries it feels much drier than when I do use it! I rarely use heat on my hair any more but I still use this product as it makes my hair feel really smooth and I have had long term damage from heat and hair dying.
As for protecting from heat, whenever I have straighten and blow dried my hair after using this, my hair doesn't feel dry. Its hard to tell whether the product is protecting my hair from the heat but my hair has felt much better after using it so I would defiantly recommend giving it a try!
To apply all I do is spray it in towel dried hair which is still damp. I mainly focus on the ends but spray a little through the top and then rub it through my hair. From their depending on how much time I have ill either let my hair dry naturally or blow dry it. Either way my hair feels smooth and looks shiny!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Another fantastic product from Aussie

In my other review on Aussie Take the heat leave in cream, I said that these range of product were on 3 for 2. So this is one of the other products that I got that day in Boots.

This product is the Aussie, Leave in spray, and that fact that it is a spray makes it much better in my opinion. The liquid itself smells great, just like all other Aussie products in fact.

I have been using this product a while now, and I have found that my hair is in better condition and is much softer, which is something that Aussie states in the bottle that there product will do to your hair. Now I have to say that as well as this product I was using the Aussie leave in cream and the take the heat conditioner. But not all at the same time. I found that if I did use two of these products at one time, then it would make my hair very greasy.

But in saying that I found that I have very little of the spray left, and I have quite a lot of the leave in cream left. I just think this is because I prefer to use sprays because they re much easy to apply to your hair. Also when using the spray I found that my hair didn't feel weighted done after adding the product. I also liked that when you used this product you hair did smell like the Aussie spray. So I suppose that would be the only little draw back to using this product, as if you use a certain shampoo for the smell, this spray may take way from that smell. But this for me was not a bug problem, mainly because I find the smell of this product lovely!

This product comes in a 150ml bottle, which I have to say has lasted me a very long time. Even thought I do use it most tomes when I wash my hair. The best thing about this product is that I actually noticed an improvement in my hair and I was reassured that the product was protecting my hair each time I used my heat styling products.

So I would have to ay that this product is now a must for me. And I would recommend this to anyone because of the great product you get for the price. Now I did buy mine in Boots when they were having a 3 for 2 offer on Aussie products. But Superdrug sells this product as well for £2.99 online.
