Aussie Take The Heat Leave in Spray
by dooberry77
My hair is very dry and prone to heat damage as it is regularly coloured blonde and can be very dry so I am always trying different products to condition and help protect it. I have been using Aussie products for several years and always have some kind of their product on my bathroom shelf. This is part of a range from the Aussie brand, ... shampoo, conditioner and a conditioning leave in cream can also be purchased and combined use gives the best results.
The packaging.
The product comes in a white and purple plastic bottle with a clear plastic lid. The Aussie logo is clearly visible on the front and underneath it gives the product name 'take the heat leave in spray in red lettering. It specifies that it s for heat damaged hair and that it is a protective spray to help protect against heat damage. The back of the bottle tells you a bit about the product, the directions, ingredients, some contact information for the brand and gives the bottle size (150ml) The bottle has a purple pump spray at the top to release the product.
The product.
The product itself is a clear spray. It has a smell which I would describe as fresh with a hint of bubblegum which I absolutely love. Before application shake the bottle well and to apply simply remove the plastic lid and gently press down on the pump to release the product and spray liberally through towel dried hair from roots to ends. Comb through, then blow dry.
The benefits.
- Protects against heat damage whilst styling and blow drying.
- Smoothes hair when using a straightening tool.
- Contains Australian jojoba seed oil to condition hair.
- Has a 12 month shelf life once opened.
- Does not leave hair feeling 'heavy' once dried.
Price and availability.
The product is available from most beauty stores, supermarkets and on line. It usually retails around £4.99 and is quite often on special offer promotions.
My verdict.
I would definitely recommend this product. It conditions the hair and helps protect it from heat damage with the benefit of smelling great too. Read the complete review |

Aussie Dual Personality Curl Definition Soft Feel Serum
by MissKing91
I have unmanageable hair, it doesn't do as it told, its not always curly it can range from a Frizzy fluffy mess to a defined curls all by itself, if its was possible i would say that my hair has its own personality!
However I found Aussie curly hair serum!
I have always liked Aussie hair products i love the smell, ... the way they make your hair feel and the shine afterwards but i only ever treat myself to them as they are expensive until B&M started supplying them a lot cheaper than boots, tesco and superdrug which are in my nearest town.
I asked my hairdresser is their anything i can do to make my hair more manageable and defined curls as I'm not very good with hair styles its either down or in a pony tail and she recommend Aussie Curl Serum, so i begrudgingly made my way to buy some.
But mere words cannot describe what it does to my unmanageable mane, I apply it so my damp hair, I put a coin sized amount which to me is 2 squirts rub in into my hands and work it through my hair but not going near the roots as it makes my hair greasy. I then sometimes comb my hair or just leave it but 9/10 times i leave it dry naturally.
The outcome
The fluffy frizziness has gone, its shiny, not heavy, not greasy and my curls are defined and there is more of them. The best thing about this product is it doesn't leave residue in your hair like mousse or hair spray which i don't often use, i can still with ease the next day brush my hair, put it up in a bobble and doesn't feel sticky or needs washing again!
I would recommend this product to anyone who has unmanageable hair to use on a daily basis and doesn't really have a clue how to style. I also use from the Aussie range the curly mousse for when i do go out dancing etc and i find that works well with this product. Read the complete review |

Aussie Mega Shampoo
by CosmicLove
Aussie is not a brand that I am particularly fond of and I never buy the products as I find them overpriced. My Mum however is a really big fan and she has been stocking up since Tesco first started their 3 for £10 Aussie promotion. She gave me this shampoo last weekend as she had tried it but preferred a different one.
~ ... Price ~
This shampoo usually retails at just under £5 for a medium sized bottle (300ml). In my opinion this is extremely overpriced. If it actually felt like a good quality, luxurious shampoo then yes it would be worth it however it doesn't, and I have had better results from much, much cheaper shampoos.
~ Packaging ~
Like most Aussie hair care products this comes in a medium sized plastic bottle which stands upright and has the usual purple and cream colour scheme. There's lots of information about the product written on the bottle and the bottle has a flip lid which I always find an advantage when it comes to shampoo and conditioner as it stops too much product from coming out at once.
~ My Opinion ~
As I said above, Aussie is not a brand that I ever buy and having recently tried one of their conditioners I was very disappointed and unimpressed so I didn't have much hope for this shampoo. Aussie claim that it has a unique formula with 'Australian Kangaroo Paw Flower Extract' (bizarre!) and they reckon it will leave hair feeling 'bouncy and clean'. They don't really throw many claims about with this and it comes across from the marketing as quite a basic but expensive shampoo.
The first thing that I noticed about the shampoo as soon as I flipped the lid up was the smell. It is very sweet and girly - almost too sweet and the smell definitely isn't natural smelling. I don't really like strong smelling shampoo but luckily the smell doesn't last for long and it doesn't linger in my hair for more than a couple of hours. The smell isn't the sort of scent I would like for a shampoo - it doesn't smell particularly clean or fresh, instead it is a sweet, perfumed scent.
The shampoo itself has got a slightly strange texture - it is almost like a runny gel and doesn't really have the usual consistency of shampoo, though luckily it is not sticky or anything like that and it does spread through my hair really easily. I have shoulder length hair and find that I need around two to three large dollops of it for good coverage so my 300ml bottle definitely isn't going to last me very long considering that I wash my hair every two days.
The shampoo as long as I apply a decent amount of it lathers up very easily and it rinses out easily too, leaving behind absolutely no residue or anything and my hair feels instantly squeaky clean, soft and a little silkier too. I use a good conditioner after using this shampoo so I can't comment on whether the results once my hair has been dried and straightened is purely down to this shampoo (soft, silky, shiny etc) but it does certainly leave my hair feeling extremely clean and soft, and its not at all drying or anything.
~ All in All ~
Though this shampoo leaves my hair clean and soft like any good shampoo should do, I feel that it only deserves three stars. This is due to the price, the sickly sweet smell and the slightly odd texture. Read the complete review |
