“ Brand: Aveda / Type: Hair Spray / Subcategory: Hair Treatment / Product line: Aveda Pure „
I know, I know, you are all heartily sick of hearing me rave on about yet another Aveda product and probably think I have shares in the company because I review their products so often. Well, sadly no I don’t (I wish!), but do admit to being a huge fan of Aveda and the philosophy surrounding their products. For anybody who doesn’t know, all Aveda’s hair and beauty products contain absolutely no petro-chemicals or harsh ingredients that could have an adverse effect on your skin or scalp. All their products contain solely organically grown plant essence based ingredients, which provide nourishment and goodness with a very low risk of allergies. As a sufferer of M.E. for a number of years, I have developed an intolerance to a lot of the chemical based ingredients found in most skin and hair products and Aveda have become my saviour, I have never experienced any allergies or reactions with their range of goodies, and believe me, I’ve tried them all! Aveda Pure-Fume Brilliant Spray-On for Hair is a favourite of mine. It revitalises tired and dull looking hair in seconds and is simplicity itself to use. It’s a spray product, just spray it on to your hair lightly, comb it through and watch an exceptional shine develop within minutes. Its excellent for those of you who are in a rush in the morning without time to wash your hair, the shine and gloss this product provides to DRY hair is second to none. And it smells pretty darn good too, jasmine and rose being the predominant perfumes. Even better, it lasts all day, although the more you brush your hair, the quicker it will fade. It works exceptionally well on dry, course and frizzy hair that has a tendency to be dull or under-conditioned. The spray adds gloss and sheen, particularly to curly hair or permed hair and adds condition too making tight curls easier to brush through and preventing that fly away look! It’s beautifully packaged, in a deep
blue glass bottle with gold lettering that would grace any bathroom. Mind you, it clashes with my pink and grey a little, but hey, it’s a classy looking bottle! Aveda supply only salon products, so pricewise some would say they were very expensive. I disagree however, the usual adage applies in that you get what you pay for I think. And this product will last you for ages as so little is required. Expect to pay up to £10 for a 3 fl. oz. (90 ml) sized bottle but this should last you for months. One disadvantage is that Aveda products can be hard to track down here in the UK (they are an American company) and are predominantly available in salons only. I’m lucky in that my local salon stock it, or you can get it from QVC’s shopping channel or larger department stores, plus there are various online stores that can provide it. http://www.shopq.co.uk/hers.htm give a comprehensive list of UK based sites stocking Aveda products. Aveda also have a website where you can read more about their extensive range of hair and skin products, and their aroma-ology philosophy. Check out www.aveda.com for details.
