Im a a great believer in if you find a product that you love,no matter the price you stick with it! Instead of wasting money on alternatives and never being happy...
I came across Aveda when in Las Vegas and stumbled across one of their stores... it was the smell that made me wander in ooooohhhhh so gorgeous.
Aveda manufactures professional plant-based hair care, skin care, makeup, Pure-Fume and lifestyle products. The reason why i had never stumbled across it before is because it is only available in Aveda stores, professional hair salons and spas.
When in the store the lovely gentleman told me all about how Aveda is one of the first beauty companies manufacturing with 100% wind power, one of the largest purchasers of organic ingredients and that they set the industry benchmark for environmental packaging. This was truly impressive as the prices in this place were not too hefty either.
Well spoilt for choice i decided to go for a hair care product, seen as though i was in the middle of the desert it needed some tlc!!. He went through a range however the one that took my fancy was Shampure. Its a pure, gentle daily shampoo, with Morikue protein which cleanses and fortifies any type of hair. Infusing it with one of Aveda's original aromas: a calming mix of 25 pure flower and plant essences.
This is so light and it feels like it detoxes your hair leaving it in lovely condition and smelling fantastic. I was a shampooaholic before i tried this now i have never used anything since. I love the way it doesnt feel like your bogging your hair down with lots of chemicals and that im treating my hair with goodness.
The fact that Aveda as a company are so environmentally friendly is also a bonus and also makes me feel like im doing my bit!! It says a daily shampoo however i do not feel the need to have to use it every day, i do also use the Shampure conditioner for the best results.
The average price for a 250ml bottle is around £9 a bottle which initially i thought was epxensive however it lasts for ages!, you only need a small amount and how much money would you have wasted on trying other shampoos anyway??? If you look around on the internet sometime you can get better deals.
Love it, and wish i could afford to try out all their skincare ranges!
What great products Aveda make. The Shampure shampoo is recommended for normal hair and works fine for both my husband and I, despite having slightly different hair. Has a lovely smell from all those aveda plant essences, and generally a really nice feel as you use it. Don't have to use very much of for it to work perfectly, and it rinses out with ease. although a little more expensive than your average supermarket shampoo, it works by just cleansing rather then stripping your hair of all the natural oils, and is worth the extra.
Other great points about aveda products are that the packaging is recycled and can then be recycled by yourself, so that you feel truly green.
Overall, if you can afford it, go for it. There are a few good websites out there who discount it too, so it pays to shop around! You can often save a good 25% of the RRP.
