Advantages: Makes hair softer, smoother and shinier, quite reasonably priced

Disadvantages: Not a dramatic improvement

Leave in conditioner isn't usually on my haircare shopping list and doesn't generally feature in my beauty regime. On it's own, I highly doubt I ever would have bought this product. However, I'm a sucker for a bargain and when Avon recently offered a 'Shine Essentials Pack' containing 5 haircare products for just £5, I couldn't resist. I was planning on purchasing one of the products in the pack anyway so for a mere pound or two more, I got a whole variety of products to sample.

Avon Advance Techniques Daily Results Quick Touch Leave-In Conditioner is, I have just realised, quite a mouthful, so I will refer to it as conditioner from this point forward! The conditioner comes in a white container with a green lid (on the bottom since it stands upside down), some futuristic looking green swishes and the product name in black.

So here comes the science bit. Concentrate! 'Formulated with Creatine plus Pro-Vitamin B5 to maximize the healthy look of your hair while it strengthens, repairs and prevents further damage.' The bottle states it's suitable for all hair types and with a description like that, I needed to get in on the action!

Applying the product is a little tricky at first. It's rather watery in consistency and tends to flow from the bottle at a rate of knots. Only a minimal amount is needed though and I tend to rub the liquid between my hands. This makes it easier to distribute through my hair. Once my hands are covered, I simply run my fingers through my clean, damp hair, rubbing the ends in my palms. A quick comb through and the job is done. You'll probably need to experiment to work out how much is right for you. Too much and your hair will end up feeling greasy. Too little, and you won't see any results.

Once dry, there is a difference to my hair. It isn't particularly dramatic but it's certainly noticeable. My hair feels softer to the touch and there is an improvement in the glossiness and shine. Whilst it's not a considerable improvement, it is significant enough to warrant buying the product again, though perhaps only if part of an offer. That said, the full price for this conditioner is only £2.50 and it's currently on offer at £1.50 a bottle. Since you only need to use a small amount, it should last for a while.
