~~The Product: 'Avon Advance Techniques Daily Shine Conditioner' ~ 'Thanks In Advance'!~~
The 250ml conditioner comes in a lovely sturdy bottle that co-ordinate with its counterpart, the Advance Techniques Shampoo. The container is predominantly a matt shimmer grey with the product's name and titles in a mixture of black and olive green. On the reverse side, in no less than thirteen languages but not in English, it list the product, such as in Italian 'balsamo senza risciacquo per tutti i tipi di capelli - balsam without rinsing for all types of hair'. There is also a long list of ingredients, thirty-six in all, noted on the reverse label! The product has a twelve month shelf life and the packaging is recyclable.
The curious thing to the various details on the bottle is that nowhere to be seen is the instructions for applying the product! When I browsed through the Avon brochure and came to the hair care products, there was an Avon promise that this conditioner 'Helps condition and detangle to leave hair soft, shiny and manageable-Consumer Study, 100 people'.
~~My Usage Experience ~ 'A hair in the head is worth two in the brush'!~~
I purchased this product as I am inclined to feel much unmotivated to condition my hair after washing due to the extra effort it normally involves. But this conditioner is a 'leave in' one, so I was very happy to give it a try. 'Leave In 'conditioners are widely used as an excellent way of furnishing one's hair with extra moisture. As this product is also promised assist in detangling the hair too. Furthermore, some of the ingredients that have been added to this conditioner, such as proteins, moisturizing components and silicones along with other fortifying formulas provide hydration, shine along with the tangle free results.
Leave in conditioners are great for enhancing one's initial hair care routine. 'Leave in' conditioners were created to enhance the conditioning that your hair has already received through shampooing etc. Conditioners by their very nature restore elasticity and suppleness to the hair. By also applying this type of 'leave in' conditioner will actually assist the hair to cling onto the conditioning and moisturizing effects that it has received.
I washed my hair whilst in the shower, after rinsing well, I towel dried my hair. I then divided my hair into two sections, as if I were going to put two pony tails either side of my head. My hair is long and thin. If I haven't washed my hair by the third day, it becomes greasy and even lanker. But after washing my hair with a reputable product, it becomes full of bounce and hydration again. I hoped to give my hair that extra care and shine that good shampoo and conditioners provide.
I poured out a 50p worth in amount onto the palm of my hand and began to massage the conditioner onto my hair beginning at the nape of my hair and gently working my way down towards the ends. The conditioner comes out of the bottle in a fast flow being fairly watery. In fact, it has the same colour and consistency as white icing sugar as it is being mixed with water! I found this a little disheartening as I expected a much more enriched formula bursting with fragrance. But, I shouldn't have been concerned, the feel of the conditioner on my hands and then onto my hair felt amazing. A beautiful most subtle floral scent emanates from the fluid as I massage it onto my hair.
After applying the liquid to the first section, I begin the same process on the next. As I run my fingers through the strands of my hair, I can feel an instant detangling effect without any effort on my part whatsoever. I then wash my hands of the residue of conditioner and begin other task as I wait for my hair to dry naturally. As the hair dries, the strands seem to combine together, almost giving a very disconcerting appearance like an unwashed greasy look to my hair! Thankfully, when the hair becomes fully dried, and after delicately brushing my hair through, the effects is excellent. My hair is left feeling so velvety smooth and soft. There are no tangles at all.
A little disappointing is that my hair is not left with a brilliant shine, more of a subtle sheen. Instead of the usual fluffy bounce to my hair, the conditioner has left it fairly listless and restrained. Though this sleeker appearance would appeal to those with frizzy or flyaway hair, I find it, to some extent, drab! Even the gorgeous floral aroma has dissipated. But, on the up side, my hair certainly feels tangle free and very satiny soft
~~Would I Recommend? ~ 'Just Splitting Hairs'!~~
Well, I will continue to use this product until it is finished but will not be purchasing it again. As I mentioned before, I tend to have fairly thin, lank and limp hair until I wash it, and the effects of that only last a day or so, this product would be far more suited to those that experience frizzy flyaway unmanageable hair. So the promise of this conditioner being for 'all hair types' doesn't ring true for me. I will reassure though, that the product does moisturize and leave the hair detangled, soft and supple.
The product is available through your local Avon Representative or on the Avon online site: http://avonshop.co.uk
The conditioner is presently available at half price, £1.40 instead of the still reasonable priced £2.80.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review on this hair care product :~)
Summary: Affordable conditioner but can have a negative effect on 'listless' hair!
