... I will point out that I have quite long hair - it is beyond shoulder length at the moment - and because of this I like to make sure it is well conditioned. I will always apply a conditioner after shampooing my hair and at least once a week I like to use a more 'deep conditioning' treatment. This is where my comb comes in! I do find that by combing the conditioning treatment through my hair rather than slapping it on all over by hand really makes quite a difference to the end result. I have MUCH fewer tangles when...more

Premium Review Avon Advance Techniques Detangling Comb: B(RUSH) out and buy it!! (827 words)

Any regular readers of my reviews will be aware by now that I work part time as an Avon representative, when my poor health allows. This means that I have great access to any new products and ranges that are available from Avon, as well as having access to many of the brilliant offers that are regularly provided by Avon. One of the ranges available from Avon nowadays is the 'Advance Techniques' range - which is aimed at hair care and hair products and includes everything from conditioners and shampoos to styling products - is one of the Avon ranges that seem to have an offer on most often. Quite often I find that the products are half price, which is a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review An Excellent Detangling Comb (168 words)

The Avon Advance Techniques Detangling Comb is one that I use everytime I wash my hair. A detangling comb is extremely important to use on wet hair as it will do considerably less damage to the vulnerable hair strands than a brush will do under wet circumstances. This comb has nice solid, sturdy teeth that have no flexibility to them. Mine has not broken or chipped in all the time I have used it and the handle is nice and smooth too. There is an obvious difference between using this comb and using one from the pound shop because of the quality to the handle and teeth. This comb costs £3.75 from Avon which I think is a good price for something ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Avon Advance Techniques Detangling Comb: detangle with ease (339 words)

Having very long hair has always meant a daily battle with lugs, this isnt too bad when my hair is dry the brush goes through it quite easily with not too much visible damage but when my hair is wet and extra luggy after just being washed you can actually hear it snapping as the brush has to be forced through my hair. I spotted this comb in the avon book a few years ago and thought i would give it a try, it is around 8 inches long and has plastic teeth but they are not like the teeth on any other comb i have tyred, there are two rows of teeth both in a slight curve starting off far apart and getting closer together. I have found that this comb goes through ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review No tangles here! (542 words)

I have recently started going to an Aquarobics class once a week, my health makes exercise difficult but I have found this weight supporting water aerobics is kind to my joints and doesn't cause me to get out of puff and risk an asthma attack! One thing though, I hate swimming pool showers. However nice they try to make them, public swimming baths showers are usually horrible open, sometimes filthy, places and I just won't use them. If it means smelling of chlorine for the 10 minute drive home then so be it and then I'll step into my own beautiful shower stall and cleanse myself properly! The problem with not showering after Aquarobics is that my hair is a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Avon Advance Techniques Detangling Comb: TUG FREE TRESSES (207 words)

This comb has been out for years and it has recently had a revamp. Although the colour of the comb should not matter, the old style was dark grey and lighter grey. In the new book it is a deep red, which is slightly metallic colouring. I think it is quite a bright colour, but not all that bad. This comb normally costs £3.25, but it is on offer just now for £2. There isn't much packaging with this. It is just in a clear see through plastic bag and it has some printing on the bag. The teeth of the comb are quite sturdy and i've not had any break on me and I use this comb often. The teeth are quite thick as well and they are close enough together to ...  Read the complete review
