Advantages: Smoothes, nourishes and protects

Disadvantages: Price

Once upon a time I was an Avon representative, I liked their products and following reading an add in the local paper for representatives I applied. It helped me to make friends as we had just moved and also helped me to feel independant and provide for our extending family as I had just given birth to twins.

As a representative I was often called upon for advice and my opinion on make-up and skin care products. Avon have their own hair care range but strangely enough this was something I was never asked about.

Avon Advance Techniques Dry End Serum is one of a range of hair treatment products designed to stomp out split ends and nourish the hair whilst promoting healthy looking shiny hair. The product also contains sun screen so you can be confident whilst wearing the product it really is looking after your hair. The serum complements their other Advance Techniques products, which include shampoo, conditioner, styling products and other more intense hair treatments.

The packaging;

It comes in a small clear glass bottle which allows you to see how much product you have with pump dispenser, currently an attractive lime green colour, with the brand name and product definition to the front. The pump dispenser itself is simple enough to use and never seems to clog either which can often occur with pump dispensers. It disperses very easily and requires little effort.

The product;

The product is clear and lightly fragranced which I found inaffensive and is of a thickish consistency as you would imagine. It works on wet and dry hair and my own personal experience has proved it works better on wet hair. I find a few generous pumps after brushing through my wet hair works wonders on taming any possible frizz I might acquire through the drying process. It also adds real shine to your hair promoting a more polished look.

If you apply too much product it can over volumise your hair which in my case is a disaster as I already have thick curly hair. I don't use this product on a daily basis, I tend to use it as and when I feel my hair really needs it. If for example I have used too much shampoo on my hair, as that can promote excessive frizz and make my hair extremely uncontrollable.

On dry hair I find I need to use less product, but once again if I accidentally use too much product it can make your hair feel sticky to the touch and promote excessive volume. Clearly this is a product that works but requires a certain amount of practice to acquire the best results.

Overall I think this is a good product, but, on the downside it requires a little practice to achieve the best results. It's costly at £4.50 for 30ml and is on par with some of the other branded hair care treatments. It's best to buy when on offer and is currrently available to buy for £4.50 with an additional bottle for just £1.00

Like with all hair care products over time they become less effective and your hair becomes dull and lifeless, a change of products can work wonders and Avon Advance Techniques Dry End Serum is definately a product to try.

Thanks for reading.
