Advantages: Easily absorbed.

Disadvantages: Not very effective, tricky packaging

I have to admit to not being a very big fan of Avon's haircare products in general. I have found that the conditioners in particular from the Advance Techniques range are not terribly effective, and have left my hair feeling a little dry and rather tangled. I was not planning on trying this product when it first came out, the Advance Techniques Intense Repair Recovery Treatment Mask, however I decided it was worth a try when Avon offered it to me at a very low price. If I did not like it, I could always just pass it onto someone else to try.

I was not a huge fan of the packaging first and foremost. I really dislike having to scoop any kind of beauty product out of a pot, as I find that I nearly always get product under my fingernails when I do this. So the style of the tub put me off straight away. I also found that the screw cap lid was a little awkward to manage with wet hands, but I eventually managed to get it off!

The product itself felt very coarse and a little greasy even which I had not expected. I was expecting something a little smoother given that this is intended as an intense moisturising treatment of sorts. It was easy enough to apply though, and I felt that the product was absorbed well within the time indicated on the packaging.

After rinsing this out and drying my hair, I was a little disappointed with the results. I had not had high hopes for this product, as I do not expect much from the brand in general, but I did think that my hair would at least be deeply conditioned. Instead, I felt that my hair was pretty much the same as it normally is.

This product costs £4.25 for a 150ml pot and I do not see that this is good value for money. I am surprised by all the glowing reviews for this product, and can only assume that others have had better success due to their differing hair types. Perhaps this is one of those products you need to try for yourself, but for me this just did not work at all.

Summary: I would not buy this again
