Being a big fan of Avon make-up I thought I would give some of the hair products a bash. I have recently had my hair cut into a bob with fairly short layers at the top so I was looking for something to oomph it up and make it a bit funky at the top!
The Avon Liquid Spray Wax is usually around £3.50 a bottle. It smells quite nice and I find I only need a little amount in the palm of my hand. It doesn't have a great amount of hold in it and is not as 'thick' as other waxes but I prefer this as it doesn't leave my hair feeling all gunked up with products.
As I said the hold in it is not great so it is maybe more suitable for longer hair like mine where you are only looking to rough it up a little. I don't think it would be strong enough to actually hold hair in a set style, like gents hair. It does leave quite a nice shine though. I usually spray a little in the palm of my hands, let it go a bit tackier and then just run it through the top of my hair, back comb a little, finish with Avon hairspray and I'm done.
When browsing avon recently i came across Liquid Spray Wax. I thought that this wass an awesome idea as I always hate having to use wax or gel with my hands as they get so sticky. Not to mention the fact that it is so much more convenient than using a jar or tub of wax/gel.
The product comes in a white and red designed packaging which is typical of avons advance technique range. It comes in 150ml and is £3.50. So far so good. However when I came to use the spray nozzle it wouldnt work and broke off. This limits its usability. I wasnt too annoyed however as i could still use it as a pump spray without the nozzle, it was just less flexible.
It smells quite pleasant but then most waxes and gels do. But how good is its hold? Does it actually do what it is meant to? In a word, no. Its absolutely useless. I used copious amounts of it and it barely felt like there was anything on my hair. Yes it made my hair look shiny but what use is that if it doesnt stay in the style i want it?? Not only this but i found i needed to use my hands anyway to style my hair and so the concept of it was obsolete!! My hair was lacklustre and flat, it was flexible mainly because it didnt have any hold!
A complete let down from avon who normally do so well!
