Because I don't want to let my Avon representative down, I think she has began to rely on me that I buy something everytime, I sometimes buy products that I don't really need or just because they are new and to test the water.
I have always used the Straight N Sleek Advanced Techniques hair care range and have been very happy with majority of the products that I have tried and I do continue to buy them. There are one or two products that let the range down, but I guess that can't come out trumps with everything.
In my last Avon catalogue, I noticed that they had introduced a new range, Summer Rescue, which is basically products that have been designed to protect your hair from the sun and to be better for it. There were only two products and this one did jump out to me, the Sun Dimension Highlight Builder.
Its terribly expensive these days to have your hair coloured. I am a natural blond to start with however regularly have caramel and ash blond foils in it, which when my hair grows so quick it turns into a costly exercise, however, very vain, as some people say, I just believe that I take pride in my appearance, I have to have it done.
The Sun Dimension HIgh Ligh Buildefr promises to add colour to you hair without using the chemicals that normally go on your hair and using a cream that will protect rather than damage.
This was on offer in the catalogue at an introductory price of £3, which to me is a bargain and when I received the product I though it looked great, the packaging was great, it was presented in a box rather than just a tube and followed the usual Advanced Techniques branding however using a yellow theme to make a difference to the range.
Inside the box is a tube of cream, a brush for application and instructions of how to apply the cream. I was quite excited and wanted to get started straight away. In the instructions it advised that you should continue to use the product at least three times to start seeing the results... bonus.. I wash my hair every day so I was looking forward to cos effective high lights.
To apply the cream, you need to wash your hair and the product has to be applied to towel dried hair. The brush applicator has two different sized brushes and depending on how much you want the highlights to stand out, depends on the brush that you use, small one for subtle, large one for more definition, I decided to go with the small one. You squirt the cream into the middle of the brush and vertically slide the brush down your wet hair from the root to the end and you apply wherever you want to. You leave it in your hair, don't wash it out and style hair as normal.
I think I was expecting something miraculously, however my hair didn't look any different on the first application, but it did say use it three times or more to get the best results. I have been using it for a week now and my hair looks no different than what it did before I started. In fact... yes it does look different, it seems to make my hair look greasy which is one of my pet hates.
The model in catalogue, who supposedly used this, her highlights looked great and her hair was blond to start with, so you cannot say that it doesn't work on blond hair or she just hadn't used this product.
I was quite disapointed with this, however will keep adding a bot to see if it does go lighter and will update my review if it does, however in the mean time... its not like Ronseal...and doesn't do exactly what it says on the tin.
