I unfortunately have a Frizz in my Hair and my Hair is thick too. Although some people say they would love Thick hair I can advise that I don't find it all that great.
I tend to use Shampoo for Greasy Hair as this is my Hair type so to use a product that seems to be for any Hair type (what I mean by this is this can be used for Fine hair, dry hair etc) and it is to help with Frizz.
This comes in a 250ml and 400ml bottle. There is also a matching Conditioner in the range too. The 250ml is £2.80 and the 400ml is £4.50 normally. As with all Avon products they are on special offer now and again and I tend to buy when this is on perhaps a half price offer. I like to get a bargain.
The bottle for this looks alright. Nothing all that special. It is just a simple looking Flip Top bottle.
The consistency of the Shampoo is more a Cream than a Gel. It is a medium thickness so a decent sized blob of this will lather up well. The scent of this is a nice fresh scent. It is quite a strong scent but once your hair has been washed then it is just a light scent that is left behind. I can still smell this easily the next day too.
How does this work? Well I use the matching Conditioner to give the best results. I find that this works well on my hair. It seems to clean it deep down and I don't find that this leaves my Hair any Greasier than using Shampoo especially for my Hair type. I find that my Hair does look smoother and I find that my Hair straight after using this isn't as Frizzy looking as before. I sometimes use a Hair dryer after Washing my hair or let it to dry naturally, but I tend to use my Straighteners the day after I wash my Hair so I do worry about Frizziness in my Hair.
I will keep using this as it is a good product and I do notice the difference in my Hair after using this.
My hair can be a nightmare. I have very fine hair, but lots of it meaning it appears to be very thick and dry. It also has huge waves in it without being curly at all, and all these elements put together make it very frizzy and hard to control. While browsing the Avon catalogue I came across this shampoo, the matching conditioner and the hair serum all in a £5 offer. I decided I would give them a go as I had read great things about them.
It comes in a 250ml bottle that is just like any other shampoo bottle. The shampoo can be squeezed out easily and the consistency is a little thick and creamy. I found it lathered really well so there was no need to use a huge amount each time, but at the same time it is not too drying or heavy on my hair. It rinsed out of my hair very easily without leaving any residue, and I have to say I have been very impressed with the results. My hair felt soft and really clean without any dryness at all. The scent is really nice too, while not overly strong it does linger in your hair for a little while after washing. It is a floral scent but it not overpowering at all and the added fruity notes keep it sweet which is more to my liking. There is a slickness to my hair while it is still wet and I was worried this would mean my hair was heavy once dry, but actually this feeling disappears.
I like to try and let my hair dry naturally if possible. There was definitely a difference in the texture of my hair and I found it was lighter yet not frizzy. My hair can feel a little stringy and dry before I put any styling products on it, but with this shampoo it actually feels soft and manageable. When it came to straightening I found again there was a huge difference in the ability to style it. While it was not perfect there was a notable difference on the appearance and feel after styling. It did feel a little sleek while it was drying, so I did worry it could leave my roots a little heavy but thankfully that never happened. My hair is normally dry so I often find that shampoos can dry it out further, but this shampoo leaves it feeling moisturised and soft.
I found even from first use of this shampoo my hair was softer, looked healthier, and it was easier to control. As time has gone on using it more frequently the results are just as impressive. My hair has continued to remain soft and healthy and it certainly has made my hair a lot more controllable. Also with this shampoo I find it works for the whole period between washes. It works at keeping my hair looking and feeling great, but most importantly for me it really fights the frizz.
I would highly recommend this shampoo and once my bottle has finished I will be repurchasing. Retail price is £2.80 for the 250ml bottle of shampoo, but as always with Avon it is often on offer so you can get it at a more reasonable price. My experience of this shampoo has been with using the matching conditioner and I am very happy to recommend both. They work well and it feels like a more luxurious shampoo, that for once actually lives up to all of its claims.
I would describe myself as considerably fussy when it comes to shampoos and conditioners and will always look for quality as opposed to price, as I wish to keep my hair in tip top condition. Whilst I never previously considered myself to be brand loyal I was always tending to steer towards those products belonging to both L'Oreal and Dove. However, since discovering Avon's very affordable Advanced Techniques range a good few months ago, I am gradually working my way through the various products. One of my purchases was a 400 ml bottle of Frizz Control Shampoo and this review discusses my experience with using it.
The sturdy plastic bottle offers a superior and luxurious appearance and I favour its unique slightly rounded shape, which enables the bottle to be easily gripped during use. I was initially a little apprehensive when I first purchased this shampoo, as I discovered that it is suitable for all hair types whereas I will normally opt for those specifically designed for my hair type, which is dry on the ends in addition to being prone to frizz. The flip top lid, which is situated on the upper section of the bottle, is easily flipped open and due to the shape of the packaging I am able to undertake this task with the fingers of one hand whilst receiving the product in the other.
The pearly white good consistency shampoo is easily dispensed and offers the most stunning aroma, which reminds me of high quality hair salon products and I would describe it as clean and fresh with a delicate hint of floral. I find that a 50p size blob is sufficient for my just below the shoulder length thick and curly hair. The shampoo is easily spread and applied to the hair and a good lather is created, which enables the gorgeous aroma to considerably intensify. I use a few different styling products on my hair, so it is essential that I completely remove them and the shampoo serves its purpose well without the need for a further application. The shampoo is easily rinsed away and ever since I was a little girl I have carried out the "clean test" directly after rinsing where I will run my fingers down my scalp until I hear the familiar squeak. I cannot report of any sticky residue after using or any film remaining on my hair.
It is claimed that due to the Lotus Shield Technology the product will help to prevent frizz, which is something I often experience, particularly on the tips. Whilst I did not suffer any frizz when using, I do not believe this to be solely due to using this shampoo, as regular hair trims are also necessary. Furthermore, I have experienced similar results with using a few other products that do not offer frizz free claims. However, I was thrilled with the results, as my hair was left feeling squeaky clean as well as being soft and smooth in addition to offering a healthy shine. I favoured the fact that the stunning aroma gently lingered in my hair for a good few hours after using. I would point out that due to my naturally curly hair being prone to tangling and knotting, it is essential for me to use conditioners as part of my hair care routine.
Due to the reasons discussed above, I can highly recommend Avon Advanced Techniques Frizz Control Shampoo, which receives 5 stars from me. Whilst the normal price for the 250 ml bottle is £2.80 it can currently be purchased for £1.29 with the 400 ml bottle being reduced from £4.50 to £2.50. As the smaller bottles are more cost effective I've ordered a bulk supply from my local Avon representative.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
