Advantages: Makes a real difference to your hair

Disadvantages: Pump spray does the job but the container does feel a bit cheap

Because I use a hairdryer and straighteners on my hair every other day, I always a heat protection product to try and guard my hair against the damage that these are doing.

I use quite a few Avon products, but these are mainly bath products, and cosmetics, and products for my kids, and I have never used the Avon haircare ranges.

I have always used Toni and Guy Iron It Heat Defence Spray, which is a great spray but at over £5 a bottle, is a luxury I can no longer afford, so when I spotted the "Protect It Heat Protection Spray" from the Avon Advanced Techniques haircare range I decided to try it.

The blurb in the Avon book says "seals in the cuticle and protects hair from styling damage. Spray in to leave hair smooth and shiny"

I washed and conditioned my hair, towel dryed as normal, and then sprayed this lightly over my hair before drying and styling it.

This products comes in a white spray bottle with a red lid and red logos and writing. I must admit this all felt a bit "cheap" compared to my old spray. This is just a standard pump spray, whereas my old one was in a heavier pressurised spray format.

But having said that, the Avon one sprayed easily without me having to force or pump this too much.

This product did what it promised and much more..... The spray smells lovely, and my hair did appear to look such shinier and straighter.

The final icing on the cake for this product is that I work in an office full of females, and if I have done anything different with my hair or make-up they do notice and tell me honestly what they think, and are ultra critical of each other all the time.

But, after using this I got asked "Your hair looks fab, Have you changed your shampoo?" "Your hair looks poker straight and shiny, have you got new straighteners?"

To me thats the best recommendation I could ever have, and if this product did cost more than my old Toni and Guy spray I would have to pay it because the results are worth it.

But...luckily for me it doesn't. It costs £4 for a 100ml spray pump bottle, but I have never actually paid £4 for it yet as this Avon range has fairly constant offers on (This is currently available at 4 for £6 across most of the Advanced Techniques range)

It really is a stand out product and whatever heat protector products you normally use, you should try this to compare and see what you think. I bet you will get converted too though. : )
