The one thing I worry about when it comes to my hair (other than it falling out) is the damage i'm causing it from the constant heat. I have very thick hair and if I left my hair to dry by itself it would triple in size and go fuzzy, in fact I would look like Crystal Tips or Professor Trelawny from the Harry Potter films. So everytime I wash it I have to blow dry it which can take anything up to half an hour. Of course then I have to straighten it due to the fact that by then I look like the Lion from The Wizard of Oz.

I always try to use a heat protector spray on my hair and I previously used to use one from Avon that was sprayed direct onto dry hair. This seems to have disappeared out of the catalogue now and another one has appeared in its place.

Avon Advanced Techniques Heat Protection Styler comes in a white bottle with a red spray top. The bottles hold 100ml which surprisingly lasts longer than you would think.

Directions for use:

Spray liberally 15 - 20 cms from damp hair. Distribute evenly and style as usual. If pump clogs, rinse under warm water.
Warning: Avoid spraying into eyes. Keep out of reach of children.

I use the spray everytime I was my hair as every little helps. It does help to make my hair look shiney but then i do use a range of Avon hair products that all contribute to this.

Does it work?

Well if there's one person that tells me off if my hair is damaged by hair straighteners or other electrical products it is my hairdresser. Now after being reprimanded a couple of times I started using the heat protection spray and the next time I went to the hairdressers she definitely noticed the difference and said my hair was in much better condition and to keep using it.

She didnt have to tell me twice. I buy all my hair products from Avon and each one compliments the other. If you have dry or damaged hair I would recommend giving the Avon Advanced Techniques Protection Spray a go. It normally retails at about £4.00 per bottle which i think is excessive. I generally buy it when its buy one get one free or at half price which it very often is priced at.
