      A must have product!

I discovered this amazing product when my daughter was young. She had beautiful hair, but it was flyaway, fine and prone to tangles. Normal conditioner just did not cut it! Then an Avon catalogue dropped through my door - the rest as they say is history. My first purchase was for this and some eye liner.

I did not expect the amazing results: Just spray onto damp hair, comb through and the hair is tangle free, shiney but not sticky, beautiful and easy to comb, brush or whatever until the next wash. I had tried so many products!

As a bonus it even works on horses manes as tails too, so daughter's pony had a stunning tangle free tail.

The 200ml bottle lasts well and the price represents excellent value for money, so any household budget can buy it. It really is one of the best things you can buy for your kids. I give it as presents to little girls and now buy it to hand on to my daughter for her children!

The whole Avon kids range is great, with the friendly face to encourage them to wash and bathe!

      Nice subtle fragrance.

Definately a no more tears product!

IN CONCLUSION PROBABLY THEIR MOST POULAR PRODUCT?

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Repeat purchase due

This is a review of Avon Kids Detangling Spray which was kindly bought for my little girl at Christmas. My MIL is an Avon Rep and she says this is one of her best selling lines so we were keen to try it at bath time on tangled hair which causes tears and tantrums whenever we try to brush our daughter's curly and knotty hair.

      Packaging
The bottle is slightly updated from the one pictured, with it being a mainly yellow coloured plastic bottle with a spray top. It also pictures an apple to represent the scent of this hair product. The bottle is 200ml in size.

      In use
Once my daughter's hair is washed in the bath, I spray around six pumps on to her hair then comb through it with absolute ease, the hair shows no resistance to the comb and I tell my daughter what I am doing when I spray and comb and she has grown quite attached to this product and likes to hold the bottle. Without telling her Nanny (not the MIL) we had used this she commented the next day on how lovely her hair smelt and that it reminded her of apples so this product passed the blind sniff test too!

      My thoughts
I really like this spray in product and have already put in my order with the MIL for another bottle of this. It really works and is far better than trying to use a normal conditioner in my daughter's hair which is still quite fine and flyaway so I don't want to weigh it down with product or make it look greasy.

      Price
A bottle normally sells at £2.50 but is currently on offer with Avon for £1.75. I think this is quite reasonable.

      Final word
I can really recommend this as a great kid's hair product. Anything which helps with the potentially tantrum inducing act of combing a child's hair is worth a couple of pounds. So far I have been really impressed with the kid's bathing range from Avon.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Well worth getting

I bought this after months of my daughter crying and screaming during the daily hair brushing. She has waist length hair and every time it was due to be brushed she would hide, throw a tantrum basically try to get out of having her hair brushed. After bath time was even worse. She wouldn't have her hair cut so I needed another idea. I came across this detangle spray in the Avon book and thought I would give it a chance.

The bottle itself is very bright, orangey pink colour and eye catching; it had a pump action top which comes covered with a clear plastic top. The bottle has a happy pair of eyes and a smiling mouth on it as well as a pair of green hands. The bottle is well received by children and my daughter was happy to allow me to use this spray on her, in fact my son who has short hair wanted me to use it on him also! It has the scent of watermelon which is lovely, it's not overpowering either, it is a nice refreshing scent. The spray itself is clear and not sticky in any way. It covers the hair well and you only need a few sprays to cover the hair. It doesn't untangle the hair totally but I do think that because the child knows you have used something on their hair, they are slightly more tolerant of the knots being brushed out that they were before it was used.

Even if you use a lot of this spray on the hair, it doesn't make the hair feel greasy at all, it is ok to use before blow drying the hair and does actually give the hair a slight shine as well. I love this product and would recommend it to all. It defiantly makes brushing knots out easier and the smell of it alone makes it worth buying.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Avon kids detangling spray

My little girl hates her hair being washed and hates it being brushed and combed through afterwards. I'm not sure what it is but its not a fun experience for either one of us so anything I can do to make it more pleasureable is definitely a bonus. She has quite long hair which often gets tangled if I don't comb it immediately but she liked to play after a bath so I needed to find a product that would be useful on her hair.

I tried out a number of products which were fine and I had no problem with but then a friend suggested this detangling spray from Avon and said it was the best thing she had ever used on her little girls hair. Her girl has mad curly dark hair and said this was an absolute godsend for them. My little girl has fairly straight blond hair so I didn't really want this because of curls but I decided to give it a go myself.

At just £2.50 a bottle from Avon it is well worth the price and a product I really love and am so glad it was suggested to me. We have an Avon lady who always drops a book round each promotion so I usually end up ordering a bottle of this every time as we use it practically every day after every bath. The smell is absolutely amazing. It has an apple smell to it and is just such a lovely kid friendly smell. It stays on my little girls hair afterwards for quite a while and I just love giving her a cuddle and smelling the top of her head and her hair.

The spray is really easy to use. I spray it onto her hair, even when she has been out of the bath for quite a long time and then attempt to comb through her hair. I find this spray really coats her hair and allows me to gently pull through the tangles without pulling on her hair and hurting her head. It helps that I use a tangle teaser brush on her head but I find this spray just makes her hair nice and silky and smooth. Afterwards I just let her hair dry naturally and the result is beautiful, shiny, gorgeous looking hair. I'm actually very jealous of her hair, she doesn't need to do anything to it, can just step out of the bath and its beautiful, just like her.

An amazing detangling spray from Avon that is well priced and works great.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Does the trick

For someone with skin so pale, it is almost transparent, I somehow have inherited from somewhere very dark, full and curly hair - I actually use frizz-free treatment from specialists shops for afro-caribbean type hair so when I tried this, I wasn't expecting great results.

I originally bought this for my little sister, years and years ago as she is very head sore like me and the daily tantrums having her hair done for school drove my mum mad. Anyway, Avon had one of their buy two products and get the third free or buy any products over 6 pages for X amounts of pounds and there was nothing I faniced so ended up with 2 of these.

The frangrance ' amazing apple' is gorgeous and stays with you throughout the morning.
I have used this on both wet and dry hair with really good results. You simply spray on your hair, either all over or bit-by-bit. I prefer to do bit-by-bit because although my hair is quite thin, there is masses and masses of it. Once you have sprayed on you then simply comb through and it really is that easy.
The spray doesnt leave any stickiness or bits of dried up particles just a lovely fresh appley smell.

The product is kind to skin and claims to also be kind to eyes by containing a tear-free formula, I wouldnt doubt this as I have used Avon tear free shampoos on my kids for years and they do work.

The cost is £1.50 reduced from £2.50 for 200ml and this lasts me for months. I dont use all the time but when I do, always wonder why I dont use it more often. My sister still uses this years later and she is nearly 15 so I think, like me this is something she will also use in adulthood!!

A great product, a must for any head sore or notty-haired kids out there.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

An affordable detangler that works well and stops the tears

My youngest daughter has inherited her father's thick afro hair and people always comment on how beautiful it is without appreciating the hard work that goes with it. Obviously, it is impossible to get a brush or even a detangling comb through it when dry, so every morning when I brush it I have to ensure that it is thoroughly wet. This is where the Avon detangling spray comes in!

I have been purchasing this for a couple of years now, and at £1.25 for a 200 ml bottle, which lasts me for a few good weeks even with daily use, I consider it something of a bargain. The detangling spray which I am reviewing is the "amazing apple" fragrance, and it comes in an orange bottle with a picture of a smiling and winking red apple on the front. Above the apple it states Avon Naturals Kids and underneath, the particular scent and the amount contained. On the back of the bottle there are the usual instructions on how to use and warnings (in 13 different languages!), ingredients and further details of the manufacturer. Avon claim that this is a tear free formula, but unfortunately I cannot vouch for this as I have never sprayed this into my daughters eyes and I am not really prepared to do it now either, for the sake of this review lol!

The spray is dispensed via a pump nozzle, and the bottle is the perfect shape and size to be able to use with one hand. The scent of this does resemble that of apples, but not as natural as I would have liked. It is also quite strong and lingers on for a while, but I really don't mind it as it is not unpleasant. Which each spritz, a lot of the spray is released. It is actually quite deceiving at how much comes out with each spray, so I would recommend that if used on fine or thin hair a couple of spritzes are enough. However, because my daughter has big thick hair, this is ideal for me as I really have to make sure her hair is more or less wet with it, so that I can comb it with ease. The spray also dries up pretty quickly, without leaving her hair sticky or with any residue in it.

Before I started using this detangling spray I just used to spray her hair with water, but I have noticed that the detangling spray really helps a lot more with those little knots that form from having such tight curls. Whereas water just wets her hair, the detangling spray actually softens it and gets rid of many knots (I don't know how but it really does). All in all, the Avon detangling spray has been a godsend and makes my daughter's morning brush hair routine a lot more bearable. 5 out of 5 doyoo stars from me, I just wish that there would be more choice of fragrances.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Loved this when I was little! Easy for kids and parents!

My mum used to buy this all the time when I was younger as it made combing my hair so much easier for both of us as my hair used to get very knotted as it was so long and fine. The design is fun and always made me look forward to having it sprayed in my hair.

The smell is what I loved most, I think it was watermelon and either kiwi or strawberry and I loved it, it was very fresh and the smell lingered in my hair all day. The spray is a white watery consistency and sprayed out quite watery and spitty but with a comb could evenly be dispersed through the hair, my mum often left me to do it myself when I was younger as it's very easy and safe to use for children, just make sure you tell them to close their eyes as I'm sure it would sting a little!.

The spray lasted forever as you don't need to use too much when it's needed. Mum would wash my hair every other day and spray this on it afterwards so it lasted for a long time and not much is needed when using it. You might want to keep an eye on you kid if you leave them to do themselves as they may get a little spray happy and use too much which just makes it greasy. Luckily for my mum I was one of those rare 'good' children who never made a mess and used it really well.

At that age I never really paid attention to the effect on my hair but it must have been good as my hair always looked shiny and adults would comment on how long and soft it was! I actually kept using this in my early teens as it really did help detangle hair after washing it but my hair combination changed to very oily so had to find a new conditioner.

Highly recommended product although I'm not too sure if it's still available!

Makes brushing my daughters hair easy and tear free - smells lovely and a good price

It seems like my daughter Lauren has inherited my hair, just like me, she goes to bed with perfectly straight hair, but wakes up in the morning with a ball of fuse on the back of her head and no matter what I do, it is impossible to get the brush through it without tears. We always have an Avon catalogue at work and when I spotted the Kids Detangle Spray on offer, I thought I would give it a go.

At the time I purchased, it was on offer at £1.50 for a 200ml bottle, the RRP is actually £2.50 which I think it still quite reasonably priced. I brought mine from my local Avon representative, but you can also buy online from Avon and Amazon also sell it.

The bottle is slightly different to that pictured, it is actually bight yellow now, with an orange pump at the top. To the front of the bottle, it has a picture of an apple winking and says Avon Naturals Kids.

The product is said to be apple fragranced and it certainly is, as soon as I spray, the sweet fruity smell spreads across the room, Lauren loves it, the first day I used, whenever we saw someone she would ask them to smell her hair! The apple aroma is still present several hours after using.

To use, just give a little spray to the area of hair you want to detangle, when using on dry hair, I just give a light spray to make it slightly damp, the hairbrush simple glides through her hair - no more tears or tantrums! When using on freshly washed hair, you just follow the same process but you don't need quite as much. Because you don't need to spray a lot to get the desired effect, I have found that a bottle lasts me at least two months which is great considering I use this at least twice a day - I have even used on my own hair after swimming.

The first time I used, I was a little concerned that using this would make her hair look greasy or sticky but it didn't at all.

Overall, I would recommend this product, it has made getting ready in the mornings a lot more 'pleasurable', it is a good price and smells great.

        Thanks for reading.

Great value for money product which is very effective

My daughter who was 3 last month has long, very think hair, which is prone to tangles. She has never liked having her hair brushed and after trying various things like using leave in conditioner and even bribing her to let me brush her hair - I decided to have a look through the latest avon catalogue. This detangling spray was on offer at £1.50. For that price I thought anything was worth a try - if there was a chance that the tears and tantrums would stop then it would be worth it!

-- Avon Kids Detangling Spray --

The bottle is a a 200ml orange coloured plastic bottle with a pump spray at the top. It has a picture of a happy smiling monkey on the front, holding a comb. It has watermelon and kiwi scent.

        -- Our experience --

My daughter usually has her hair up in a ponytail or in plaits in the daytime but at night it is always loose to stop the hairbands from digging in while she sleeps. Normally in the morning, after tossing and turning over in bed, her hair normally has a few knots in. As soon as I even go near her with a brush or comb the crying starts. She was interested in the spray after seeing the picture of the monkey on the front and even now refers to it as 'Monkey Spray'!

The first time using the product, I sprayed quite a lot of the detangling spray until her hair was quite damp, then I started combing her hair through. This product makes combing her hair so much easier, it has a pleasant fragrance and dries quickly onto her hair and doesn't leave behind any residue or greasiness. It has stopped alot of tears in our house and it isn't such a chore now when it is hair brushing time.

        -- Overall --
In my opinion this is a great value for money product which I would recommend.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A fantastic product for all ages

My little girl is only 3 but her hair is fine yet lots of it meaning it tangles a lot and she hated having her hair brushed so when I came across this in the Avon catalogue I decided to give it a go.

          The product

You get a 200ml spray top bottle of product that comes in the scent of watermelon and kiwi. It has a picture of a cute monkey on the front that appeals to little one straight away so when she saw the bottle she knew it was intended for her. To use it is simple you can apply to wet or dry hair by simply pressing down the spray top function and the product sprays out. Then brush through the hair and the product helps separate the hair making it easier to run a brush or a comb through.

          The smell

This product has a really sweet smell too it as soon as you press down on the spray it becomes apparent and is really strong. Although it is watermelon and kiwi it the scent of this product it is melon that takes over for sure and this smell lingers in the hair for the whole day. It is not over bearing but strong enough to really be noticeable even after a hard day play from my little girl.

          Application

Simply hold a little way away from your head and press down on the spray bottle releasing the product lightly over the whole of the hair. I do find a lot of the product comes out at a time and this can make the hair rather damp. The spray is not sticky and falls well all over the area it is aimed at without running or any mess at all. My daughter can actually use this spray herself but I like to do it for her otherwise she would sit all day spraying it around. The button is easy to press down on and a good size to get a good grip of the bottle.

          The results

It definitely works when I add this product to her hair she tells me it is a magic potion as I can brush her hair without pulling and tugging which makes it so much easier. The product works well separating strands of hair and therefore making the hair glide apart rather than ripping apart so help keep it in better condition. I can style her hair easier too as it helps separate the hair but also pull it in the direction the brush is moving a lot easier.

With bigger knots there can still be a bit of tugging but nowhere near the amount that would be needed without this product added. With smaller knows the brush seems to glide through easily and this is where you can see the biggest results. It does not make the knots magically disappear but is a great aid in helping brush them out with ease.

It also works as a leave in conditioner leaving her hair soft and shiny and a lot more manageable whether it is up or down you can see the difference. There is no sticky residue left over and no grease just healthy looking hair which is great as other more expensive products I have used have left the hair looking tired and unloved while not being as effective.

          Negatives

My only downside to this spray is I feel it could be a little lighter with the liquid that comes out as I find it actually wets the hair rather than just aid with the removal of tangles. This obviously is not too much of a problem but when your rushing in the morning t get ready and it is cold outside having to wait for the hair to dry can be a pain. Then again this is a great aid in styling my little girls hair so the negative is actually a positive too.

          Summary

My daughter loves me using this as it makes her feel more grown up and she loves having her own spray she can put in her hair while I use my hair spray. I do have to say although aimed at children I have used this spray numerous times and it has helped remove knots from my thick wavy hair too so not just for children but useful for the whole family. It retails at around £3 and as it is a 200 ml bottle it lasts for a few months meaning it is priceless for the results it delivers I would recommend to anyone not matter what age.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            a great little detangling spray

I buy quite a lot of conditioners and hair products because I love pampering myself and keeping my hair in good condition. This spray is marketed at children, but after lending it at a friend's house, I had to buy myself one because it smells amazing and actually really helps detangle hair.

So the first thing I noticed about this spray was the lovely apple scent that comes from it, it isn't too strong that it is sickly and it lingers for about a day after you have used it.

You use this spray to detangle your hair after shampooing it and before blow drying, it really does the job well and I find that my hair has less broken ends since I started using this spray as I am not continuously struggling with knots in my hair after washing it. I can definitely see how this would be a big advantage when you are washing and combing kids hair, especially if it is very long.

I find this spray especially handy when I have been to the swimming pool, as the chlorine leaves my hair in really bad shape and hard to manage, so within a few sprays it becomes much more easy to brush through and style. This spray doesn't leave your hair greasy or heavy, it just leaves a lovely apple scent behind, my hair feels really conditioned and soft after using this spray.

Costs £1.75 on offer at the moment, normally £2.50, you can buy this detangling spray either on Avon.com or through your Avon representative.

Overall I think that this is a great little spray and well worth the money, it doesn't leave my hair greasy or heavy and it definitely does it's job and helps me detangle my hair after shampooing. Overall I would give this spray 5 out of 5 stars.

              Would highly reccomend

I have tried and tested over half a dozen detangling sprays for my daughter over the past year or so. As she has gotten older her curly locks have been getting thicker, as a result of this I often find her hair to be in a knotted and unmanageable state in the mornings. To say that my daughter doesn't like having her hair brushed would be an understatement, she will and does avoid it at every cost.

We have found and made use of some good detangling sprays but when I saw this Avon detangling spray in the catalogue recently I couldn't help but buy it just to give it a try. The spray comes packaged in long, thin bottle, this has a sprayer at the top to control the flow of the detangling spray, this then also has small, clear lid to ensure of no spillages.

The packaging of the spray looks different than the picture above; it is orange in colour and has a picture of a monkey on the front in the same design as the other Avon kid's hair care range. Despite the bottle looking different it is still the same old watermelon and kiwi detangling spray.

I have found the spray easy to apply to my daughter's hair, the nozzle carefully distributes the spray evenly across the hair, I have also noticed after one or two miss sprays that it doesn't not sting the eyes, my daughter has never been in too much discomfort because of it. When it comes to brushing the hair whilst wet I have found the brush to just glide through with no knots or messy bits causing a problem. When dry it's a little bit trickier but that's also due to the fact that I don't apply as much whilst dry as I don't want to give her hair a shiny/greasy effect. I must say though that it does make a difference although some knots can still be a little bit tricky on dry hair.

The smell of this detangling spray is what has really won me over; I have found other detangling sprays that work as well as this one, but none that smell as nice. The watermelon and kiwi combined gives it a very sweet smell and a smell that will stay on the hair all day. It gives the hair a lovely fresh fruit smell that you will want to continue smelling all day long.

Costing only £1.30 I think that this is a bargain and I would highly recommend it. I absolutely love it and when this one runs out I am sure that I will be buying a replacement. It has an irresistible smell and it also allows my daughter to enjoy brush time as it no longer hurts her head.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

a very versatile bathroom and handbag essential

Avon have made their kid's detangling spray for awhile now and although it often goes through packaging rebrands the product keeps hanging around, like, well, hair!

The obvious is that it is perfect for little people with big hair who don't stay still long enough to have it brushed properly and who complain so much at bathtime that you don't dare dunk their heads under the water a second time to comb a conditioner through and rinse it out properly. A couple of sprays and this baby works like conditioner and ensures you can get the brush through.

My hair is big, strong, and frizzy and a few squirts of this softens and tames it after blow drying. My daughter's hair is fine and naturally a bit limp and this seems to do the opposite - it gives it a bif of life and coats it in a protective way. I also use it between wash days to make both of our hair look cleaner and it really does make a difference and seems much more natural than a dry shampoo.

We both often end up with great big lumps of tangle (HOW? What happens overnight to cause this? Is there a tangle fairy that creeps into your bed at night and dreads your hair for you?). Instead of spending painful hours with a hair brush tugging the hair out of the scalp, I spray this on the tangle and gently pick it apart with my hands. I also use this on wigs to remove tangles without losing the hairs and to give them a bit of natural looking shine.

I have been told by others that they use this on dog hair and on horse's manes too so it seems like it's uses are endless.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

A product that is very effective and most gentle in using on tangled hair for all ages

Reason For Purchase ~ 'You've been tangoed'...(or tangled, random eh :D)

When my grand-daughter stays over, after her bath-time routine, we come to the task of combing the tangles from her hair. My grand-daughter's lengthy hair is straight and very thick. Her hair becomes very tangled throughout the day, much to do with the hair styles she likes to adorn herself with :D Detangling my grand-daughter's hair can present 'tantrums and tiaras' so this product had been on my list for the next visit from my Avon rep!

The Product ~ 'Let your hair down'

This product comes in a plastic container with a fun label and is part of a range of children's hygiene goods that Avon provides. The detangling spray's fragrance is in watermelon and kiwi, with a practical 200ml measure. The reverse of the container briefly indicates, in no less than fifteen languages, how to apply this 'no more tears' formula and safety warning of keeping out 'of the reach of young children'! The product has a twelve month shelf life, though frequent usage will ensure this is used up long before this time!

How This Product Works~ 'Cut and dried'

Although this product is focused towards children, I have used it myself to see if it is suitable for adults too; it is! The detangling spray is simply a gentler composition for young scalps and hair consistency but works as well with my hair, though I will add that mine is finer and far less thick. Apologies for stating the obvious but, detangling spray is a product that is used by people who have an array of various hair types, such as, thick, curly or very easily tangled hair. These products work by coating the stem of each follicle to enable them to easily separate and comb apart. Without using these types of formulas can result in damage to the hair, not to mention the discomfort in brushing, by stretching, pulling and even breaking the strands of hair. Of course, one can simply wet the hair before attempting to remove the tangles, though in my grand-daughter's case, simply shampooing the hair causes tangling anyway! But wetting the hair does increase the elasticity of the hair but doesn't work enough to detangle in many hair types.

As I mentioned previously concerning using this product on myself, it can be used by folk of all ages, but this formula is specifically for children; young ones often have hair that is much finer than adult hair. Additionally, youngsters generally have scalps that are far more sensitive than adults; therefore, the procedure to remove tangled hair can feel especially uncomfortable to children. This detangling spray helps to make the tangles untwist more easily. My grand-daughter has little patience in waiting for her hair to be brushed and combed without snarls and knots so at times like these, the task is a delight for everyone concerned! :D
Although, the spray does work in my grand-daughter's case as well as my own, for extraordinarily thick knots and matted hair this detangling spray may not work. A more extreme measure may be needed, if you catch my drift! Again, please excuse my noting the obvious, but using this detangling spray perhaps a few times a day to manage particularly resistant easy matted hair may be beneficial. Added to this, consistent trims, washing and combing will cut down (excuse the pun) the problem.

Usage Experience ~ 'The secret of my success is my hairspray' {Richard Gere!!!

                1) I generally wash my grand-daughter's hair with a specially formulated shampoo for children's hair. After rinsing well, I carefully towel dry to avoid adding to the already tangled hair.

                2) This spray can be used on wet or dry hair which I find is a real plus. On special occasions, my daughter likes me to plait both her and my grand-daughter's hair; not one or two times, but around 80 to 100 very thin plaits, often with colourful beads attached too! This procedure can take anything between three to four hours! Imagine what fun it is keeping a five year old content while I work on her hair for that amount of time! Therefore, when it comes to taking out such tightly braided hair, this product has proved its weight in gold!

                3) Back to the recently washed hair; after towel drying, I sit my grand-daughter on a stool in front of my chair with the towel around her shoulders. I tend to spray the hair in sections, and deal with each portion in turn. I spray the watery fluid out approximately six inches away, focusing on the tangles. The watermelon and kiwi fragrance smells more like very ripe sweet strawberries to me, very pleasant. The spray comes out of the nozzle in fast spurts with an ample range that covers a good part of the strands.

                4) I then begin to use my wide toothed comb to pick at the knots in the hair, gently breaking them up to smaller sections. Each time, working my way through the tangles, working from the outer layers of the knots to the center. A couple of short burst from the spray is often enough to assist the process of detangling of each matted section, but for particularly stubborn entanglements, a couple more shots of the product works very well.

                5) Each section of the hair where I have removed the tangles is then gripped up upon the scalp using large plastic clips to avoid getting in the way of the process of un-matting the rest of the hair. Combing the hair from the scalp tends to produce even more tangles so I only begin at the problem area, and only after these portions have been dealt with, I then gently use my soft textured brush to comb through the hair. For very stubborn tangles, I like to hold the section of hair I'm working on, with my other hand on the upper end of the hair, an inch or so beneath the scalp to avoid uncomfortable pulling on my grand-daughter's head. As long as the whole task is done slowly and with care, this really can be a 'no more tears' chore!

                6) Another one of the great benefits of this gentle product is that one doesn't need to wash it out. After I have finished detangling my grand-daughter's hair, it is left shiny and smooth from the formula. When I've awoken my grand-daughter the next day...or more accurately, when she's awoken me, I tend to pop her hair into her chosen style that day. Her hair retains the fragrance and manageable strands from the evening before. My daughter also uses this product now during every hair wash of my grand-daughter's hair. The bottle has lasted me months as I only normally wash my grand-daughter's hair once a week. But, although my daughter uses the product far more frequently, she confirms that her 200ml bottle has lasted very well too.

Would I Recommend? ~ 'Hair is vitally personal to children. They weep vigorously when it is cut for the first time; no matter how it grows, bushy, straight or curly, they feel they are being shorn of a part of their personality' {Charles Chaplin, My Autobiography, 1964

Most definitely! This product continues to work well on my stubborn grand-daughter...opps I mean her stubborn hair! :D It leaves her very thick and easily tangled hair beautiful smooth and easy to comb. The product's wonderful aroma remains many hours after being applied, which adds to the delight of my grand-daughter. Even at full price of £2.60, the Avon Kids Detangling Spray is excellent value. It is currently on offer online or through your local Avon representative for £1.30. Please see http://avonshop.co.uk for the online availability.

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

                  smells lovely and hair manageable

My eldest daughter is 3 and no matter how I tie her hair the bits at the front are always loose by dinner time and invariably she ends it with food in her hair along with the glue, sand and paint from nursery.

My daughter used to hate having her hair brushed and it would be a fight every morning to get her to allow me to do it as obviously if you force it then you end up pulling the hair more and therefore making them hate it all the more - vicious circle.

As I used to be an avon rep I was having a look through the book thinking that I would get her a conditioner as we were currently using a 2 in 1 for her and she has very long tangly hair when I came accross the detangling spray. The spray is usually £2.50 a time which is a little steep considering the johnsons one is £1.75 but being Avon there are forever offeres on and I tend to stock up on it when it's on at £1.50. I wouldn't buy this through the internet though as the delivery is a standard £3.50.

The bottle is cylindrical with a spray top and a clear lid that goes over it , the spray smells really nice and does actually smell of watermelon which is supposed to be the fragrance. The directions for use are "This no tears, leave in formulainstantly detangles hair leaving it shiny and manageable"

The spray is easy to use and my daughter has it every day or at least she thinks she does!! The spray doesn't come out too fast or too slow and it does certainly help when she has managed to get her hair sticky and I haven't had time to wash it. The problem with this spray is that if you put too much on the hair looks quite greasy so i try not to use it if my daughter is wearing her hair down. A bottle tend to last us about a month but she does need it probably 3-4 times a week.
