Advantages: Smells alright if you like the smell of bananas!
Disadvantages: Doesn't clean my hair well, made my hair very tangled, my scalp itched afterwards
I've used a few Avon shampoos recently thanks to the special offers in the Avon books which has allowed me to order them cheaply along with other items, the one I was least impressed with was this Banana & Coconut Milk 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner from the otherwise excellent Naturals range.
The usual price of £2 for a skinny 200ml bottle isn't the most cost effective way of washing your hair, it becomes better value when you buy the shampoo as part of a special offer but even then this is likely to be the thinnest bottle of shampoo you have in your bathroom.
The shampoo itself comes out of the bottle after a little shaking and squeezing and I set about using it on my already wet hair in the shower. I didn't need to use too much of the 2-in-1 to get a decent lather up in my hair, my hair is shorter than shoulder length so be aware that you will need to use more than I did if you have longer or particularly curly hair.
The lather is quite thin and the scent of banana overwhelmed any subtle coconut smell in the shampoo, it didn't smell like a very cleansing shampoo even as I was using it and I ended up giving my hair an extra long wash using two lots of shampoo simply because it didn't feel like it was cleaning my hair at all.
After towel drying my hair it was soon obvious that there is very little conditioning effect in this 2-in-1 at all, my comb had to tear through knots and my hair felt messier than before I'd washed it! It left my hair extremely dry and straw like too which very rarely happens to me, after I'd stuck with this shampoo for a few washes I also realised it was making my scalp itch immediately after washing which is annoying. My hair and head just didn't feel cleansed in the slightest after using this appalling shampoo, which is a shame really as I've come to trust the Naturals range of products from the Avon book.
I have normal hair and can generally use any shampoo on it but this is just awful, it doesn't suit my hair one little bit and when I gave the remainder in the bottle to my granddaughter it was no good for her either. Mind you it had the opposite effect with her, she's 12 and is getting to the stage where her hair is becoming a little greasy and this shampoo made it look like she hadn't washed her hair at all.
I am not impressed with this shampoo and conditioner at all and in my opinion it has nothing going for it at all; it doesn't smell nice, is neither cleansing or moisturising and leaves my hair in poor condition after washing. Considering Tesco do a nice shampoo for just 49p I really don't know where Avon get their prices from sometimes!
Summary: Leaves my hair in a worse state than before washing!
