My daughter was born with a lot of hair, at 2 years old it is already down to her waist and it has to be trimmed regularly. I found baby shampoo's were no use as the formula was so mild her hair was left flyaway and too soft making it difficult to tie up. I discovered Avon kid's range a few weeks back previously we had been using L'oreal kids.
I got this tamer for just £1 I also purchased an apple version.
The bottle is orange and it has a picture of a mango on the front surrounded by by bubbles. The bottle contains 200ml and is actioned by a pump action dispenser. The formual is described as mild and gentle it is also tear free. It is designed to smooth and tame unruly hair while adding shine and making combing easy.
To use the spray you simply apply to damp or dry hair spray evenly and comb through. I always use this on my daughters hair after it is washed you need to spray about 20 cm from the hair. I have the matching shampoo in the range too.
This product smells really nice it is sweet and the fragrance is long lasting I normally blowdry my daughters hair as she gets cold and asks me to 'toast' her hair for her even after blowdrying you can still smell the mango and it is still faintly noticable the next day. It makes her hair so much easier to comb particularly when wet I think it has some sort of conditioning agent in it.
Overall I would recommend this spray it is really nice and makes it easier to tie my daughters hair up as it makes it smoother and gets rid of flyaways. We use this on weekends only now as since my daughter has started nursery we use Vosene spray which has a head lice repellant in it just in case!
A great product and even better when it is on offer.
My eldest daughter absolutely hates getting her hair brushed, so I am always on the look out for a decent detangling spray in the hope that it will make life a bit easier, and quieter. Whilst looking through the latest Avon catalogue I noticed an Avon hair tamer spray which is part of their natural kids collection, they only had one scent available and that was "Magnificent Mango". I purchased it on offer for £1.25, its usual price being £2.50
Avon's hair tamer is presented in a 200ml plastic orange bottle with a bright orange spray nozzle on top. The brand and product name are given on the front along with a picture of a very happy looking cartoon mango. The design is bright, fun and extremely eye catching.
General information is given on the back including ingredients, warnings and directions for use. Once opened the product has a shelf life of twelve months.
Avon claim this product will detangle and tame hair leaving it feeling silky and manageable. It has a mild gentle "tear free" formula. It can be used on dry or wet hair.
The detangling spray itself has a strong fruity mango fragrance which my children love, it smells natural and fresh. Its longevity is fantastic and I can still smell the fragrance on my daughters hair when she comes home from school.
I have been using this detangler on my daughters hair for the past few weeks and have been quite impressed with the results. I use it on her wet hair after showering and also on dry hair in the mornings before styling for school. The spray nozzle works well and produces even spritz of product through the hair. After applying I find my daughters hair much easier to brush and style, tangles and knots are easily and painlessly teased out using a comb. Hair is left looking and feeling soft, well conditioned and with an added shine, i find styling the hair much easier and it is certainly a lot tamer, less fly-away and just generally easier to manage. I was pleased to discover that no unwanted sticky residues are left on the hair.
This is a great detangling spray from Avon and one which I will be ordering again.
Available from your local Avon rep and on Avon's on line shop (delivery charges may apply).
Although I have now discovered a Tangle Teezer, I still like to have a bottle of detangling spray which I mainly keep in Laurens swimming bag as no matter how much I tried, I always seemed to forget to take it with me when it came to her weekly swimming lesson which meant tears when it came to brushing her hair.
I knew I was running low so when the Avon catalogue came around at work, I decided to buy some of this. I have already tried the Apple fragrance in the same range so I was happy that this was going to be just as good. At the time I purchased, it was on offer at £1.50 for a 200ml bottle, the RRP is actually £2.50. I find with Avon that their products are quite frequently reduced so I would recommend keeping an eye out and buying is when on offer. It can be purchased from you local Avon representative, online direct from Avon and also Amazon are selling this.
The product comes in bright yellow bottle which most of their children's products do and it has an orange pump at the top. To the front of the bottle is a big cartoon mango which has a big cheesy grin on, the product branding is writing in white writing so stands out nicely on the bottle. The boldness of the mango is certainly present in the fragrance too; as soon as I spray, the sweet fruity smell spreads across the room, even when applying just a little.
The spray is really easy to depress, so much so that Lauren can operate easily, once depressed, a nice fine missed comes out and it is quite even - Having said that, I tend not to let Lauren have a go on her own as she seems to just focus on one area! Using the product is really easy too, just give a little spray to the area of hair you want to detangle and brush, I find that the hairbrush glides through her hair really easily. The spray can be used on wet or dry hair, I find you have to use a little bit more on dry hair than on wet.
Several hours after using, I can still detect the fragrance in the room but more importantly, on our hair which is great and unlike some sprays I have used in the past, this doesn't make our hair look greasy or sticky at all which is always a bonus.
Overall, I would recommend this product, it has made brushing hair stress free and therefore I would give the product 5 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading.
=Avon Naturals Kids Magnificent Mango Crazy Hair Tamer=
The original detangler was apple based, but Avon changed this within the last 12 months to a Mango Crazy Hair Tamer.
This is an own brand Avon product, and is promoted in the kids section, the price does vary, from £2.50 a bottle. but there are different promotions on, so it is always worth looking out for.
The bottle is a bright orange in colour, and has a picture of a smiling mango on the front of it, and this is very much designed to appeal to children,
Once you open the bottle, the first thing you notice is the smell, it is a strong sweet smell, of fruit,
The spray is designed to tame unruly hair and make it easier to comb out tangles in hair.
=Wet or Dry=
This spray can be used on wet or dry hair=
This spray has literally become a lifeline for us, as the first time we used it was about 2 years ago, as my daughter was starting to grow her hair and the she was getting independant with her hair,
She came out of the shower, and asked me to help with her hair, as she said it was pluggy, while pluggy was not the word, I thought she had a birds nest in the back of her hair, it took 1 bottle of this lotion, about 2 hours in time, it was that knotty that it broke an Avon unbreakable comb, but we got there,.
On holiday this gets used daily as the chrlorine in the swimming pool really dries her hair out, and even after shampoo and conditioner her hair needs some help, we tend to go through 1 1/2 bottles in 2 weeks, but at home a bottle with last 4 to 6 weeks.
=Would I recommend=
I would shout from the roof tops, this is an amazing invention, and without this my daughter would be sporting a short back and sides!
This a a 5/5 and I can't recommend highly enough.
My little girl has inherited her mummy's hair and unfortunately this means it can be very difficult to control at times. It is fine but there is lots of it and she manages to get it in some tangles at times. I decided to give this spray a try when it was half price in the Avon catalogue. I have used other products from the naturals range and have been happy with them. Plus I knew she would love having her very own spray. We have previously used the watermelon version, but this seems to have been discontinued in favour of this mango scented alternative.
The bottle is bright in colour and definitely marketed towards children. With the bright colour and picture of a smiling mango on the front it appeals to children. The first thing you notice when you spray this on to hair is the scent. There is a strong fruity smell that is instantly apparent even with the smallest amount of this spray. I'm not sure it smells of mango, but the scent is definitely sweet. It can be used with both boys and girls and adults too.
The spray promises to tame unruly hair and make it easier to comb tangled hair out. It also promises to be non sticky and kind to sensitive skin which sounds very promising. This spray does aid with combing hair but it is not a miracle worker and no different from a little water. It will not remove all knots from your child's hair and we have found there is still a lot of pulling and tugging involved. It does help reduce the amount of time I need to put her hair up, but this is mainly because my little girl is happy to sit still after using this. It wets the hair and makes the comb run through it and it does minimise the amount of wriggling from my little girl.
We do not use this spray everyday and only use it when she is having a bad hair day. We find it to work very well at helping tame her hair, but we do use it solely for putting her hair up. I just find for when she has her hair down the spray is a little heavy, and her hair is left looking a little greasy rather than a healthy shine. When you spray this lot of the product comes out no matter how lightly you press down on the nozzle, so you do need to be careful not to use too much. When her hair is up you cannot notice the product at all and it holds stray hairs in place for most of the day.
I would recommend this spray. We tend to use it just for putting my little girl's hair up, and it does work well at pulling all the stray hairs into place. My daughter is happy to sit and have her hair done when we use her 'magic' spray and I do think that is why it works so well. It helps to make her feel grown up and she sits still. It helps with knots but is no different from just water being used to wet the hair. At £2.50 I still think it is reasonable value as it lasts well and my daughter really likes it. I managed to purchase mine for £1.25 as always with Avon it can be found on special offer every few campaigns.
