Advantages: Nice Smell
Disadvantages: Didnt Work On My Hair
I was given a bottle of Avon Strawberry & Guava 2-in-1 Shampoo for when I go swimming with school because it is easier than carrying seperate bottles of shampoo and conditioner with me.
It has a lovely smell that is just like strawberries and is very fruity, I think it has a stronger smell than most Avon shampoos and the smell lasts longer on my hair after it has been washed and dried.
I had to use quite a lot of this shampoo to get a good lather in my hair and even then I thought the lather was weak and not as good as other shampoo I have used. It made my hair feel a bit sticky while I was washing it and I had to use quite hot water to rinse it all away.
After I had rinsed all the bubbles from my hair I started to comb it but it was tangled and my hair seemed to be stuck together in clumps especially on the crown of my head and I had to use my friends cushion brush to get rid of some of the tangles so I could use my comb to style my hair as I like it.
After combing my hair looked clean and shiny and I was pleased with the shampoo then, but a few hours later I noticed my hair had gone very limp and looked greasy even though it had only been washed about 3 hours ago. I have never had this happen with any shampoo before and was surprised about it because Avon shampoo is usually nice.
I have used this 2-in-1 shampoo three times since this and it has always been the same. Straight after washing my hair it looks great but it very quickly starts to look dirty and oily again. It is definately this shampoo because yesterday I used another shampoo my mum had in the bathroom and now 24 hours later my hair still looks clean and shiny.
My mum used a little bit on my 1 year old sisters fine hair and it was better for her because being so young she doesn't have any grease in her hair yet, but my mum said that it left her hair quite tangled up and she had to also use a special baby conditioner to smooth out her hair enough to be brushed.
I won't use this again because it was embarressing when my hair looked such a mess and it also took too long to comb afterwards. It is a shame really because it has such a lovely smell. I have asked my mum and she only paid £1.25 for this bottle of shampoo so that is good value if it works for your hair type but it definately didn't work for me.
Summary: Nice Smell but Didnt Work

- 06/10/08 The 2-In-1's are great once in a while however they really can't be used every day! Really good review x |

- 05/10/08 I'm not a fan of these two-in-one shampoo's, I always find I have exactly the same experience as you did, no matter the brand. |
