“ Brand: Avon / Type: Styling Mist / Subcategory: Styling Products / What it does: Protects, Nourishes „
My sister bought this hair mist from Avon about four months ago. She paid £5 to get this item and another body mist from Avon, as there was a 2 for £5 offer on at the time. Normally this hair mist would cost you £3.50 so I think she had quite a good deal for it. She says the reason she bought this is simply because she liked the look of it in the brochure, and then her friend recommended it to her and she just couldn't resist trying it out for herself. When she got it she wasn't as pleased with it as she had hoped she would be, as she claimed that it made her hair smell burnt. So instead of letting it go to waste she has kindly given it to me and now here I am writing a review on it. Fortunately I don't have the same view on this product as my sister does; after I have used it a few times I have reached my verdict that is, I think it is really good. I haven't got a clue where she gets the idea that it makes her hair smell of burning from, because all I can smell when I spray it on is the gorgeous fragrance of coconut. When you spray some on the spray lingers in the air and you can still smell it a couple of minutes after if you go back to the same spot. So clearly it is quite strong and has good staying power. Although this claims to protect your hair from the sun with UV filters I can't say I have noticed any difference. In my opinion all this does is make your hair smell nice and that's about it. It earns 4/5 stars in my opinion as I think it could be better. I don't think I would pay the full £4.50 for this product, but I do think it is worth trying so would recommend it.
I love this product I also use the fragrance and body mist! It is so summery and I am addicted to it!!! I truly love the smell of coconut and summer so this is my perfect cheer up smell. Avon released this sun ready missed a few summers ago but it is so popular that it now often keeps re appearing in the catalogue, you must get it when you see it as you do not know when it will next appear! So like me make sure you buy plenty if you spray lot like myself! The smell is very fresh and cooling it smells of coconut and milk. It is none greasy and really protects your hair from sun damaged! which is what your hair needs on a hot day, the sun damage can really ruin your hair making it incredibly dry and limp it makes you feel awful about your hair as I am a regular suffer of sun damaged hair! The mist adds moisture and acts like a sun lotion, which is fantastic why did no one ever think of this before?! Plus as you only have to spray a tiny bit and brush it through the hair the bottle really lasts a long time, so does the protection! This is not a hair mist to be ignored its truly stunning! It only costs around £2.00 when it is on offer so go on and try! You will love it!
This spray is designed for hair like mine-the minute you're out in the sun it goes like straw, drying out and going frizzy. The mist offers UV protection but also acts as a sort of leave in conditioner. You spray the mist on before going out in the sun to protect your hair. I find that it leaves my hair softer but the best result is seen the next time you wash your hair after having used it-much more manageable and soft. However, there's no oily residue or greasiness-the result is very similar to that of a leave in conditioner you would use on damp hair. I don't just use this product on holiday, I always use it on a sunny day in the uk too. The fragrance smells a little like suntan lotion-very coconutty-I felt instantly transported to a fabulous holiday destination. There is no chemical smell and it's a pump action bottle so you don't leave cloud of choking spray behind you when you've used it. This spray is available from Avon reps but also on their website which is very user friendly and often has special offers on. There is a matching perfume available but I personally find it a little too sweet for everyday use.
I often like to try new products however when it comes to my hair I have to be a little bit careful. I have naturally curly hair and I tend to straighten it most of them, however the slightest little bit of something wet normally tends to make my hair start to kink and gradually go curly again, thats why I surprised myself when I found myself adding the Avon Tahitian Sun Ready Hair Mist onto my AVon order form last campaign. I think what initially attracted me to this product was the fragrance, not what it actually looked like or what it is supposed to do, however the fragrance is Cocunut and with summer coming I love better than to smell those various fragrances that you associate with holidays and coconut has got to be top of the list. The spray comes in a plastic light blue bottle, with a nozzle and cap on the top for ease of spraying onto your hair. As with all Avon products, it has minimal amount of information on the front, just the product name and what it supposed to be and a pointless picture which to me is not associated at all with the contents of the bottle, and on the reverse as usual they have a one liner for around 25 different countries in as many languages as they can fit on providing you with the directions of use in as little words as possible. As with any products that I buy I want to try them as soon as possible and when I had washed and dried my hair I decided to spray a little bit onto my hair. The scent of the product is fantastic, I wanted coconut and I got coconut, nothing reminded me of going on holiday more and the scent lingered and lingered all evening with my partner comenting on how nice my hair smelt. So even if the poduct wasn't any good, it was good in the fact that the fragrance was extremely noticeable and very pleasant. I also noticed that this did not have any impact on my natural curls at all, I expected my hair to start to go frizzy in the places where the spray had landed as I didn't go too over the top first time I applied and if anything I founf that it tamed my hair really well, and even after going to bed and waking in the morning, my hair was just as straight as when I had done it the night before, which doesn't normally happen at all. The product also added to the sheen in my hair and it left my hair feeling really soft and looking shiny, which is exactly what you want in this weather, something that you know is going to protect your hair, however we haven't had a great deal of sun, just to see whether it does the trick under intense heat all the time. I am looking forward to taking this product on holiday with me, where I will be away for 2 weeks in a very hot climate and to see whether it does live up to the expectations that I already have or whether I come back to the UK with dry and damaged hair. Only £1.75 at the moment in the Avon catalogue and i am really happy with the product itself, packaging looks a little tacky really for Avon and something that you would expect in a £1 shop but I would recommend for people to give this product a whirl.
This Tahitian Sun Ready Hair Mist was one of my favourite summer products this year. Sadly it is going in brochure 18, the brochure you will receive in late November/early December. I will be buying a couple of bottles of this in the half price brochure 18 sale ready for next year and would recommend others who think this product may appeal to them do the same as it is not the sort of product that goes off quickly. The nicest thing about this spray is the overwhelmingly sweet scent of coconuts that this instantly gives off with just one spritz. In the past I have tried a product call Australian Miracle that some people may have heard of and this is very similar to that but with a slightly stronger smell. The hair mist settles in my hair easily and sinks in to leave a little hint of shine. There are leave-in conditioner properties in this spray as well as sun protection. Do remember that as with any product containing sun protection, the level of protection will depreciate the longer the product is around for regardless of whether you open it or not. This could be used at any time of year of course, especially if you are a fan of fruity smells and like to keep your fragrances to a minimum. It is just that it is designed for summer specifically because it helps to protect your hair from sun damage. At £1.75 for a 100ml bottle in the brochure 18 sale I highly recommend this. I only hope they will bring this back next year in a new format with the same ingredients!
Sometimes I purchase things and often afterwards I'll wonder what an earth possessed me to waste my money! This happened with this product because not only did I not need anything.... erm there's no sun either with it now being October! However because I don't really want to purchase stuff from Avon as I'm not really keen on the stuff (but I like my rep too much to refuse to order anything!) and that we have no sun the only thing this had going for it was that it was on special offer for £2.00 at the time! However like many products that Avon sell there isn't any information on this product either in the catalogue or on their website and there's little information on the bottle (in fact nothing really apart from what it is lol) and there was no box with information on it or anything but this being called 'Sun Ready' made me think of a spray that would give me tousled hair however this is a sun defending spray so I was mistaken. Yep it's October and we have very little sun but I purchased this a few weeks back and its still on sale so maybe Avon are hoping for some freak sunshine or this is suitable to take on holiday with you or something as it's pump action and not an aerosol can or anything. The Packaging.... 100ml light turquoise tall plastic bottle with a see through turquoise pump action sprayer that has a matching safety lid that pulls on and off. On the front I'm told in small brown writing that it's Avon, Tahitian, Holiday, Sun Ready Hair Mist (and there's some stuff written in a foreign language) and then like a brown wave picture with flowers on it at the bottom of the bottle. On the back I'm told how to use it (loads of stuff in foreign languages), ingredients, the recycle symbol is on there, size is on there, contact details for Avon are listed and finally I'm told the product is made in Poland and that's it, erm no other information is given. It's a nice bottle but as I mentioned earlier I'm not told what it's for or anything and that is annoying! Weird but it is a nice bottle and looks quite classy but the more you handle the bottle the more the writing fades off. How To Use It.... Spray over your hair. Avoid contact with eyes. Me Using It.... The liquid sprays very easily out of the sprayer and evenly coats the hair if you spray it at say an arms length or so. It's not sticky and feels a little bit moisturising and I spray it on combed or brushed hair. The smell is strong and very coconut. When freshly applied it's heavy in it's fragrance but it loses that over time and just remains light and fresh in smell for hours when on the hair. However.... I'm confused? Should I use this on wet hair? Dry Hair? Over a finished style? Is it ok over hairspray? Ok I don't know! I can't find the information either anywhere and believe me I've looked. Personally I use it on damp towel dried hair previous to drying with a hairdryer as I can't let my hair dry naturally without doing that cos it just becomes uncontrollable and a frizzy bomb. Of course I guess you can leave this to dry naturally as well. When dried, the hair feels and looks no different to not using any product on your hair at all. It doesn't feel softer, shinier and it doesn't help with styling. It's just a treatment spray to use on hair when going in the sunshine I guess and maybe then you'd get some benefits but this doesn't help with using heated appliances. I have also tried using this on a finished style over products or alone and again you cant feel it but it does give the hair a nice fragrance. I did use it on a hot sunny day and it never went greasy or upset my already greasy roots. I didn't see or feel any benefits at all to be honest but then I don't know what benefits to expect from using this. Overall.... Maybe in really hot sunny weather this would help keep hair conditioned and in the sun keep it from getting parched. It's ok that you can't feel it and it is light and the fragrance is nice enough but as for noticeable benefits I'm yet to see any at all and the only positive thing about this product is that it doesn't harm hair in any way shape or form! Usually £3.50 per bottle (currently £1.75) but do look out for offers on this product.
A delightful leave-in spray with UV filters to protect hair from sun damage, and ultra nourishing coconut oil to leave hair soft, silky and shiny /
