Advantages: Smell is pleasant

Disadvantages: No information on the product is available

Sometimes I purchase things and often afterwards I'll wonder what an earth possessed me to waste my money! This happened with this product because not only did I not need anything.... erm there's no sun either with it now being October! However because I don't really want to purchase stuff from Avon as I'm not really keen on the stuff (but I like my rep too much to refuse to order anything!) and that we have no sun the only thing this had going for it was that it was on special offer for £2.00 at the time!

However like many products that Avon sell there isn't any information on this product either in the catalogue or on their website and there's little information on the bottle (in fact nothing really apart from what it is lol) and there was no box with information on it or anything but this being called 'Sun Ready' made me think of a spray that would give me tousled hair however this is a sun defending spray so I was mistaken.

Yep it's October and we have very little sun but I purchased this a few weeks back and its still on sale so maybe Avon are hoping for some freak sunshine or this is suitable to take on holiday with you or something as it's pump action and not an aerosol can or anything.

The Packaging....

100ml light turquoise tall plastic bottle with a see through turquoise pump action sprayer that has a matching safety lid that pulls on and off. On the front I'm told in small brown writing that it's Avon, Tahitian, Holiday, Sun Ready Hair Mist (and there's some stuff written in a foreign language) and then like a brown wave picture with flowers on it at the bottom of the bottle. On the back I'm told how to use it (loads of stuff in foreign languages), ingredients, the recycle symbol is on there, size is on there, contact details for Avon are listed and finally I'm told the product is made in Poland and that's it, erm no other information is given. It's a nice bottle but as I mentioned earlier I'm not told what it's for or anything and that is annoying! Weird but it is a nice bottle and looks quite classy but the more you handle the bottle the more the writing fades off.

How To Use It....

Spray over your hair. Avoid contact with eyes.

Me Using It....

The liquid sprays very easily out of the sprayer and evenly coats the hair if you spray it at say an arms length or so. It's not sticky and feels a little bit moisturising and I spray it on combed or brushed hair. The smell is strong and very coconut. When freshly applied it's heavy in it's fragrance but it loses that over time and just remains light and fresh in smell for hours when on the hair.

However....

I'm confused? Should I use this on wet hair? Dry Hair? Over a finished style? Is it ok over hairspray? Ok I don't know! I can't find the information either anywhere and believe me I've looked. Personally I use it on damp towel dried hair previous to drying with a hairdryer as I can't let my hair dry naturally without doing that cos it just becomes uncontrollable and a frizzy bomb. Of course I guess you can leave this to dry naturally as well.

When dried, the hair feels and looks no different to not using any product on your hair at all. It doesn't feel softer, shinier and it doesn't help with styling. It's just a treatment spray to use on hair when going in the sunshine I guess and maybe then you'd get some benefits but this doesn't help with using heated appliances.

I have also tried using this on a finished style over products or alone and again you cant feel it but it does give the hair a nice fragrance. I did use it on a hot sunny day and it never went greasy or upset my already greasy roots. I didn't see or feel any benefits at all to be honest but then I don't know what benefits to expect from using this.

Overall....

Maybe in really hot sunny weather this would help keep hair conditioned and in the sun keep it from getting parched. It's ok that you can't feel it and it is light and the fragrance is nice enough but as for noticeable benefits I'm yet to see any at all and the only positive thing about this product is that it doesn't harm hair in any way shape or form!

Usually £3.50 per bottle (currently £1.75) but do look out for offers on this product.

Summary: Does it work? I have no idea!
