I wash and dry my hair every morning, so when my old hairdryer packed up on me I went and purchased the bes hairdryer at the best price that I could find at the time. I'm not demanding with my hairdryer as luckily I have fairly fine hair which doesn't take too much styling or drying, even though it's fairly long. This hairdryer does exactly what I need.
The Babyliss compact is a smart looking little hairdryer. Mine is black with hot pink speed and heat buttons, and has a nice long lead to plug into the mains which will easily stratch from plug to the nearest mirror. It's small and light enough to hold in one hand when styling, and also to easily store when not in use. It is also a nce size to pop in a bag nor case for a holiday.
The hairdryer is easy to use. Its functions are simple but are all that is really necessary for a hairdryer in my opinion. It has a 2 speed setting, one of a medium speed and one fast. Personally I just keep mine on the fast speed, but it's nice to have the option. The only time I may lower the speed setting is if I'm trying to be nosy at the same time - obviously the slower the speed the less noise it makes! The volume of the dryer during use is quite high, but then again I dare to guess that many hairdyers are too, and this doesn't cause me a problem. There are also 2 heat settings available, a medium heat and a high heat. The highest is generally very hot, which combined with a high speed, does dry the hair very fast. Constant movement of the dryer around the hair is necessary to avoid burning the scalp, but it gets the job done fast. There is also a cool blast available; a button that is pressed that shoots out very cold air in order to help set a particular style. I do not use this, but again it's a useful function if required.
I bought this hairdryer on the basis that it was on special offer at a price of about £25 and the fact that it was made by Babyliss, a well-known and trusted hair product brand. This was a couple of years ago and it is all still in good working order, so this is fantastic value. I think this was purchased at Argos, but it is available in most shop that stock this kind of product.
Some people may not find the hairdryer advanced enough for them or have enough features, depending on how much styling/drying the hair takes. In my opinion a speed and heat setting is ample funcions for a hairdryer though I know that there are some amazing ones out there now. It didn't come with a diffuser or smoothing attachment, which isn't a problem but may have been a nice touch.
Summary: Great value
