I have quite long fine hair and curling it takes a very long time and lasts half the night, if I'm lucky. I find my hair is easy enough to curl and style, but keeping the style in is the battle, it tends to drop pretty quickly and if im hot or it's raining, its even worse. I had been looking around a lot at new ways to get a wave in my hair. I thought that perhaps a crimper might be a good idea, when using it on the deep wave setting. However, when I started to look around at the shops, and online, crimpers don't seem to be available so easily.
Then one night I was browsing online and found these triple barrel waver tongs. They were a reasonable price and as they were a bit like a crimper, I thought they might actually work.
When they arrived I decided to try it out when I wasn't going anywhere to make sure I would like the style I got from them. To use them is very simple and easy, but if like me you have long hair, be aware it may take a while as you have to take it right down each section of hair and you can only work on a fairly small section of hair.
It took me about an hour to do my whole head, but then I did it myself and did have to go back and do some bits of hair a second time. The result was very good and I really liked the way it looked at first, but I did have to be careful not to touch it too much, because when I did touch a strand to get it to sit right, it went a little frizzy.
My hair looked great for about 2 hours and then it started to drop out a lot. What I did like about using this was that as the depper wave dropped out, it left a more natural, softer wave, so it didn't look like a disaster, just not as dramatic.
What I was impressed with was when I went to bed that night I expected to wake up looking like I had bird's nest in my hair. In fact, when I woke up my hair was still just as wavy as the night before and with a comb through with my fingers looked pretty good still.
Ever get bored of straightening I know I do. Its the way of the world isn't it if your born with curly / wavy hair you want straight, your burn with straight hair you want curly / wavy. Personally as I have straight hair I wish I had curly / wavy hair I think it's the better way because I am sure it's easier to straighten curly hair than it is to get straight hair to hold curls / wave. I am sure those of you with curly hair will probably disagree though lol.
Anyway back to the review I would love to have curly hair but unfortunately my hair type will not hold curls for long therefore I thought I would try waves instead. That's where my Babyliss Triple Barrel Waver comes in.
So what is it:
The triple barrel waver is a heat styling tool which is great for long hair which is heavy and hard to style like mine! The barrels are porcelain and so leave your hair shiny and smooth. To use you press down the rubber grip on the top of the styler which then opens up to reveal the waving plates you put our hair in then shut and leave about 7-8 seconds the release. The waver itself takes around 1 minute to heat up to its highest setting which is 200' the lowest you can have it on is 130' there are 25 temperature setting all together. It also has a very long cord which has a swivel function so it twists as you style. It also has its own little metal stand which you flick out to rest it on as you style. It has a spring lever which grips hair into place as it heats into place giving you great waves.
Great wavy hair depending on how long you leave your hair in the waver. You can get to different looks either a loose wave look or 40s style winger waves which are more defined. I personally prefer the loose wave. To style my hair I seperate it into sections as I would when straightening and wave each section seperately beginning with the underneath.
You can buy this waver online only for around £30 depending on where you get it from in my opinion it is definately worth the purchase if you want a different look from straight. The waves also make my hair look alot thicker it gives great volume. 5 stars.
