I am a self confessed murderer of hairdryers and hairstyling equipment, I usually manage to destroy them after about a year. I don't tie them up and chop bits off them and bury them under patios or anything like that, but I tend to overuse them, shove them under the bed before they've cooled properly, wind their cords around them and never clean them. Just generally don't care for them in the way I should. I should be put away for crimes against them as well as crimes against my hair. This has all changed cos I have a new friend, my BaByliss BEliss, now known in our household as Hairy (we name all our appliances cos we're sad). Hairy popped out of my stocking on ... I spied the Babyliss BEliss a few weeks before Christmas last year and proceeded to leave plenty of heavy hints around the house to ensure I would receive one on Christmas morning. As it turns out I almost ordered it myself as my other half was completely prepared to buy it from Boots at £29.99 when Argos were offering 20% off all their hair styling products that week, making it a much better £22 approx. december 07 it's still the same price in the Argo catalogue. There was one main reason why I wanted to try out this new gadget that my other half was quite insistent I didn't need, and that was because it claims to be able to dry and straighten your hair ... I have very dry, thick frizzy hair which goes into 50's style waves as it gets longer makes me look about 60. I have had to keep my hair cropped and sleep on it to flatten it before the invention of straighteners it grows out rather than down. I have now managed to get it down to my shoulders and couldn't wait therefore to try this hairdryer bought it in Boots last year for £29.99 but have seen offers since for £19.99. You have four settings, setting 1 when hair isn't too bad just needs a few kinks straightened upto 4 for I can't leave the house without putting straighteners through my hair. I set it to 4 and I was able to work it quite easily ... Read the complete review

Having wavy hair that I always need to both blow dry and then straighten, when I first saw the Babyliss Beliss advertised it really caught my attention. This is a combination hairdryer and straightener which claims to give your hair a straight, silky smooth finish. Always on the search for more convenient ways to speed up my morning routine, I thought that this might help my cause and bought one at my earliest opportunity. When I purchased this it was a lot more expensive than it is nowadays and at the moment it can be picked up for £20.99 on amazon. I remember paying about £35 for mine! My hair is naturally thick, stubbornly wavy and turns to frizz the moment I step out the door. For years I have spent ages every morning blow drying my hair and then straightening it with hair straighteners. I had always felt that straighteners were bad for my hair because they are so hot and was fed up of the amount of time it took me to get ready in the morning - at the same time as being frizzy my hair also gets greasy very quickly so I don't have the option of not washing and drying my hair every morning. It was with great joy that I saw an advert on television for a hairdryer that straightened my hair at the same time as drying it. I was hoping that the hairdryer ... Read the complete review
