Advantages: Great shape, Fast drying, 3 year guarantee, great accessories
Disadvantages: None so far
I seem to be having a bad run these past six months...first my ghd straighteners packed it in over Christmas, and now my two year old Nicky Clarke hairdryer has done the same. Anyhow, with some of my dooyoo earnings I decided to buy this Babyliss elegance hairdryer from Amazon, costing just under £20, and that included added accessories.
My mum has this hairdryer, so I knew from experience that it was fast drying and sturdy, and she raved about it. So, to be honest, I didn't bother doing much online research for a change, and opted for this product....and I haven't been disappointed.
This babyliss elegance 5560U first of all comes with a three year guarantee (somewhat better than the 6 month guarantee that my now defunk Nicky Clarke hairdryer had!) and claims to be 'ultra fast drying', and I can certainly confirm that. This is a 2000W hairdryer that gives 2 x more air pressure and thus providing 'high power airflow' helping your hair to dry faster. It also cites on the box that it offers 'ionic conditioning for frizz freee shine', and I have to say that I do feel that it doesn't dry my hair out and actually seems to leave it looking healthy and shiny. The manual gives more detail about this 'ionic' technology, stating that this ion generator neutralises the static charge and smoothes the hair.
There are a few other features that this hairdryer has including: a 'no tangle swivel cord', a 'hinged rear filter for easy cleaning' and a 3 heat, 2 speed setting with a cool shot. Although I doubt I will be using the 'cool shot' it does appear to be a useful addition to this hairdryer in that it can be used on warm hair to cool it quickly and set it to maintain the style for longer. The manual also explains in more detail (if you require) how to use the various speed settings, though if you are like me, it doesn't take too long to work out how to use these settings.
The hairdryer itself is a dark brown/gold colour with a 'slim salon concentrator' nozzle to aid styling, and as I already stated my hairdryer also came with styling accessories (a brush and hair clip) and a gold pouch for travel or storage, all of which have been a bonus.
All in all, although I already knew this hairdryer was good, I have been extremely impressed by the product since I have been using it for myself everyday. The claims that this product makes are from my own experiences true so far. The hairdryer is fast drying, giving a strong air flow and great heat, but at the same time not drying out hair, but rather leaving it shiny and in healthy condition. It is also a great shape, easily stored and carried, and with a three year guarantee I am confident that Babyliss elegance with last a lot longer than my old Nicky Clarke one.
As
Summary: A super fast drying hairdryer that leaves my hair in shiny condition.
