... so straighteners are often a must. I must say, I haven't been disappointed with these straighteners. They're slim, which is what I was looking for, so I can deal with my fringe more effectively - job done. They're ceramic, which means the hair is more protected from the heat (something about ions, etc?) They heat up very quickly, so I'm not waiting around for ages to use them, and they work very well - they straighten my hair very quickly, without any weird kinks or anything! It's also good that they've got an ...more

Premium Review Babyliss Professional Slim Ceramic Straightening Irons: Want a Good Hair Day at a 1/3rd of the price? (428 words)

My hair is straight, so why do I need a pair of hair straighteners? Well, my hair is very strange. It is just below shoulder lenghth with layers around the front. These front bits always decide to curl under and the back always flicks up. Not very chic! I mentioned to my husband that I wanted some straighteners and the little darling went out and bought me some, but, they were the wrong type. I knew that ceramic one were a lot better, so we toddled back to town to exchange the ones I had been bought. I spent ages in Boots looking at all the ceramic straighteners before I decided upon the Remington ones. The were marked up at £34.99 with free sectioning ...  Read the complete review

My old straightners, Babyliss Steam and shine, Used to be very usful.......but slow, and my sister forgot to turn them off one day and they turned brown. Then the water tank fell off.But i got these well before "ceramic straigtners" were ever even heard off.But i was happy as i didnt know any better. Then comes the The Babyliss Professional Slim Ceramic Straightning Irons, i was VERY impressed. It's the usual catch-22, you have straight hair- you want curls, you have waves- you want it to be straight. Whenever I put effort into transforming my waves/curls/kinks I want to get it as straight and sleek as possible. The only place that has ever been able to achieve this to perfection was at the hair dressers where she could take her time to blow dry to perfection. At first I thought: "What about relaxer cream," but I later found out that this was merely to calm tight curls and frizz, not for the likes of my hair. Then a new innovation came out: Ceramic hair straighteners. And in the best salons you were able to have treatment ...  Read the complete review

I love these little things. I bought them quite cheap at Argos about a month ago, to replace my old, thick straighteners which just didn't work well anymore. I'm another one who's got straightish hair, but not completely straight - which is annoying. I've also got a side fringe, so straighteners are often a must. I must say, I haven't been disappointed with these straighteners. They're slim, which is what I was looking for, so I can deal with my fringe more effectively - job done. Being a guy I was a bit stuck when it came to buying straighteners... I didnt want to pay too much for them but i also wanted them to be good enough so that i didnt need to sit for hours to get them to work. I found babyliss! These were on offer at Argos for £20 and I thought they were a bargain! What's more, there were so many complimentary reviews on it here that I thought I would giver them a try. When I got them home I tried them immediately. I was extremely impressed - they only took 5 mins to heat to a moderate 190°. I ran them through my hair and was fairly impressed with how ...  Read the complete review
