Advantages: Quick to heat up, good at straightening

Disadvantages: Can't wind my hair around them to make ringlets like you can with some straighteners

I love these little things. I bought them quite cheap at Argos about a month ago, to replace my old, thick straighteners which just didn't work well anymore. I'm another one who's got straightish hair, but not completely straight - which is annoying. I've also got a side fringe, so straighteners are often a must.

I must say, I haven't been disappointed with these straighteners. They're slim, which is what I was looking for, so I can deal with my fringe more effectively - job done. They're ceramic, which means the hair is more protected from the heat (something about ions, etc?) They heat up very quickly, so I'm not waiting around for ages to use them, and they work very well - they straighten my hair very quickly, without any weird kinks or anything!

It's also good that they've got an on-off switch on them, so you don't actually have to unplug them to turn them off - just switch off at the handset.

Summary: They work very well
