Advantages: cheap, good end result, warranty

Disadvantages: split ends, painfulthumb

I brought my Babyliss tongs about 1 year ago from Boots. What a great investment! Firstly it was under £30 and it also came with a 2-year warranty. I was impressed by this and actually had to exchange one before as I left it on all weekend by mistake and it more or less packed in.

My hair is naturally wavy and I love having it straight without having to get it straightened at the hairdressers. This little tool lets you do exactly that and it doesn?t take long. I actually find that it woks better when there is no water in it and none of the accessories are attached to the front. Don?t ask me why but it straightens better and quicker!

It is great but not that great- I am sure there are better but for the price you can?t complain. My main problem with it is that I keep leaving it on and coming home to find I have singed the carpet or something. It would be better if they had a power light on it so that silly idiots like me don?t forget to turn it off. Another major problem is it?s size- my hand often hurts from straightening my hair and I swear my skin has hardened around my thumb after using this. I did also go the hairdresser recently and she informed me that it is not good to use this type of tool regularly because it stretches the hair and causes untold split ends- yes as a result I have lots of slit ends but I still swear by this product. I mean if I had to choose between the hairdresser and the Babyliss tool- I would 100% choose the Babyliss product- cheap, not time consuming and you get the end result.
