Advantages: Straightens brilliantly, conditions hair, Great tools and accesories

Disadvantages: None, it's amazing

In the day and age where most men are either gay, married or taken, we women have to make the most effort we can to pull the leftover ones, even if they are only half decent. I know that sentence will be controversial, as some women say that they take care of their appearance for themselves, and that is partly true, but then there?s that part of us that always wants to be looked at fondly, or fancied. Anyway, back to the point. Most of my make-up bag is pretty pants, but I get on with it, so after a bit of a relapse with my hair, I decided so get off my lazy arse and do something about it.

My hair has never quite been straight; it has almost always had those really irritating ?natural kinks? which really piss me off. If it wasn?t for them, I wouldn?t have to spend time on my hair, not to mention money, which at my age is hard to find anyway!!
After receiving the Braun straight and shape cordless straighteners for Christmas a couple of years ago and persevering with them even though they barely straightened my hair and the gas refills were £2 each, I received some Christmas money early the other day. I decided to splash out and actually treat myself amongst the wild spending spree I went on to buy others gifts.

I?d been told by a friend that these were the best non-professional straighteners I would find in the high street without having to pay £80, so of course, I was very up for buying them. I?d looked around previously to find the best prices, but when I went to Argos to buy them, I saw the queue and nearly had a heart attack. I headed off to Boots where I could get points, and the straighteners were only an extra 24p. The grand total of my purchase was £24.75 and I earned 99 advantage points, so technically it worked out better than Argos in the first place!

These aren?t just any old straighteners you know! They use the revolutionary power of steam, to both naturally straighten and preserve your hair at the same time, therefore not
leaving you with frazzled hair. They also have a unique ?shot of steam? function which means you get extra straightening power just by pressing the button. Another handy extra with the straighteners were the two attachments: A comb and one to smooth your hair. These slide around the plates of the straightener and are easy to get on and off. The brand new version which I bought also has white ceramic plates, which are non-stick and help to get a smoother finish.

So, onto actually using the straighteners. They are so easy to hold and maneuver through your hair, so it becomes a lot easier to work your hair into a style. You can easily create flicks at the ends of your hair. I?m a bit of a novice myself, and my feathered, layered cut looked just like it did the first time the hairdresser did it, so I can truly say I was chuffed!

In order to use the steam functions you must first fill the water tank with water. This is relatively easy as the tank just slides off the side and once you open the plug, you just fil it up and slide it back on.simple!

The little booklet you get with the straighteners recommends that you separate your hair into sections and straighten sections about 5cm big each time, so that the straighteners can get your hair really straight. I have to say they worked really well on my hair, which is generally thick and unruly, so I?m sure that no mater what type of hair you have they will work, with perhaps the exception of afro?s, which I?m not sure, as I can?t say I?ve tried.

After straightening my hair the style has lasted for around 36 hours, even lasting overnight which is an achievement considering how much I generally toss and turn!

If you or your children have unruly hair, then I would certainly recommend this as a Christmas present. So mums surprise them, and husbands, wrap it up nicely and insist you weren?t trying to hint that they have awful hair!!

Thanks for the read, any comments are very
welcome. Laura xx

Oh and by the way, I aint pulled yet, so any offers...
ok, i won't push it...

I have very fine hair, but lots of it. It's really bizarre, some days it will dry straight (with a few kinks and twists near the ends) and others it will dry curly(ish). I always look like I've been out in the wind or fallen through some shrubbery, or just a little insane. This weather is driving me crazy - I think I may add one of these to my christmas list!
