Advantages: cheap, ok if you only want short term results

Disadvantages: ruins hair, doesn't live up to promises , takes ages to get hair reasonably straight

Firstly- I am suprised that this striaghtener has got so many good reviews.
I have wavy hair which isn't too thick- but doesn't look very nice if i leave it in a natural style. I always used to wear my hair up- until my hair dresser told me about hair straighteners.
I went down to my local store were I first laid eyes on these. It looked great and didn't break the bank at only £25.99. When I tried them the results weren't too dissapointing. The steam came out as a little trickle of hot water and it took me well over half an hour to get my whole hair to a reasonably straight state. I went to bed (as I had washed my hair that night and decided to straighen it then) and the next morning my hair was near enough close to what it was naturally. The only straight section was my fringe. Never the less I let them heat up again that morning and did my hair again until it was reasonably straight. By the end of the day it was back to normal.

I was quite disappointed- and I couldn't take them back since they were used. But at least when I did straighten my hair it looked better than normal (while it lasted.) I thought part of the problem may be the steam. So I removed the water capsule that held the water that turned into steam- and the results were alot better. But still not perfect. My hair got in bad condidtion quickly and looked dull and lifeless so i decided to invest in some hair tool ceramic straighteners. They were and still are brilliant- they make your hair shiny and poker straight unlike the Babyliss straighteners. And the results last for a couple of days.
They cost £35 (ebay)- which is quite a baragain because they can retail for around £80. They are the best things I have brought in a long time- and are worth your money.

To sum up The Babyliss hair straighteners do not do as the blurb on the back of the box promises, the results do not last long and riun your hair. Not once have they made my hair shiny- which you
would think they would. Especially with the name 'straight and shine'.
