I like a lot of people do have my lazy days when I cannot be bothered to wash my hair and blow dry it or I don't have a lot of time during the day to style it when I am staying indoors and not going out for the day. Also I like to use a dry shampoo in between washes. I also like to use a dry shampoo to refresh my hair on days I am not feeling too well.
This dry shampoo comes in a can which has a removable lid. It has a nice size nozzle which is very easy to press down to release the shampoo onto the hair. The can has the name clearly on the front and can be easily spotted on a shelf.
It is really easy to use the shampoo but just shaking the can before using it. After I have given it a good shake, I part my hair starting from the crown and then just spraying it around 15cm from the root. It does spray a white powder onto the hair which then can be gentle massaged into the hair. I tend to spray it a little at a time and then when I have covered the areas I want to clean, I just then rub the powder into my hair using my fingertips.
A good tip is to wrap a towel around your shoulders because some of the powder can drop onto your clothing while using the shampoo and the towel can collect the powder without it making a mess of your clothing if you are dressed while using the shampoo.
It doesn't take very long to rub it gently into the roots and the powder works its magic into the hair to clean and refresh it. I find it only takes a couple of minutes of my time to massage it well into my roots. Using a dry shampoo can take a while to get used to using if you are a beginner of first using a dry shampoo but you soon get the hang of it after a couple of times of using it.
I find the powder absorbs any grease from my roots and leaves it feeling manageable until I want to wash my hair the next day. My roots look nice and clean and it doesn't leave any sticky or tacky residue on the hair at all. It just feels clean and doesn't have that lanky feeling which I loathe. This dry shampoo does work extremely well for cleaning my hair. I take great pride in the way my hair looks and this shampoo just helps it look a good enough look and condition until hair washing day.
It isn't a shampoo I would use on 2 consecutive days but it is a good one to use just in between washes in my opinion.
It does have a nice fragrance to it and I can detect it smelling sweet and slightly fruity. I like the scent quite a lot and I can detect the smell on my hair a good while after I have used it.
I like the way it works to give my hair some body to it and to give it a good enough bounce. It obviously doesn't feel as bouncy as when I have washed it with a general shampoo but it does a good enough job for giving my hair a good bounce and movement. It works in a couple of minutes to revitalise the hair. Just a quick spray to the root area and the job is done.
I paid just £2 from my local shop, it is generally priced at around the £2.50 to £3 mark, so I did save a little money. I think it is a good amount of shampoo in the can for this price. I think it is very good value for money in my opinion.
It is one which both male and female would like and one for all age groups to use to clean their hair. I think the fragrance would be suitable for both sexes too and not just for females. The fragrance isn't aimed at just the female market.
I highly do recommend this dry shampoo if you are wanting to refresh your hir and remove some of the oil and grease from your roots. I have long hair at the moment and this shampoo has worked really well. I also find my hair does feel nice and soft too after using it. It doesn't feel all dry etc.
I will buy this one again in the future because it works well for cleaning my hair in between washes and is a good send for times when I feel lazy or don't want to wash my hair.
I give this one 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
~~~ Boho from Baptiste ~~~
Now I must admit, I first came to own this product by default. My daughter had purchased it for herself but passed it on to me (thank you very much). This review discusses my thoughts and findings about this product initially, and why I continue to purchase it myself.
~~~ The Product ~~~
Batiste Boho Dry Shampoo is described as having a heavenly sweet fragrance, and revitalises greasy, dull and lifeless hair in-between washes; and with this I most definitely agree. Having only tried and tested a few others variations in the range since my first trial, this fragrance is always the one I come back to.
When I was younger, Batiste was only ever used by the aged and infirm, for when hospital stays or mobility problems meant they couldn't wash their hair. As such, when I worked in Woolies as a teenager, we were lucky if we sold one can a year. With the advent of festivals in recent years and the lack of facilities to enable hair washing, people have since found how useful this product is, and have taken it to their hearts. Stores nowadays, must sell at least one can a minute, as it practically flies off the shelves.
~~~ Boho ~~~
The Boho fragrance of dry shampoo is the product I am reviewing, and usually costs around £2.50 in all major chemists and high street stores. At the time of writing this review though, it can be found on promotion in Boots for two for £4.00.
This Dry shampoo is really easy to use; all you do is spray it onto your hair, making sure you aim at the roots. It comes out of the can in a fine spray, but when the mist lands on your hair, it looks a little like you'd been sprinkled with extremely fine talcum powder. It is best to leave this to work its magic (and absorb any grease) for a couple of minutes, and then brush the excess powder out. This is really easy to do, but please don't wear a black top when using the product or it will look like you have a bad case of dandruff, like I did once. The fragrance is mildly fruity, but not sweet. It's not even a chemically manufactured fruity scent as one would expect, it's quite nice; which is why I always come back to this, it's my favourite scent out of all the ones I've tried.
~~~ Why I use it ~~~
I wash my hair every day, but sometimes I don't have time before the school run or I am going straight to the gym, and obviously don't want to wash my hair before I go there as it's pointless, I'm only going to have to shampoo and shower afterwards too. This is where this product is essential for me. This product just really works well for me, and I think it's a bargain for the peace of mind that I look half decent when I walk out of the door.
~~~ Downside ~~~
I did say though that I was passed this product by my daughter. Emily has a medium brown hair, whereas I am bleached highlighted blonde. One morning she was in a rush (as per usual) and used this product having purchased this boho one for a change, rather than her usual Baptiste. She sprayed the product and brushed out as usual, but she was left with a film of white product on her hair, giving her an aged, grey appearance. No matter how hard she brushed it wasn't moving. She inevitably ended up washing her hair, an act that she had wanted to avoid in the first place. Therefore, I would recommend that you have a blonde shade of hair, rather than browns if you want to use this product. There is a brown version for darker hair shades, and this is the product that Emily normally uses.
~~~ My Thoughts ~~~
After use (on blonde hair) you will feel a film of product, but you will not be able to see it. This film will give your hair a bit of body and substance, and if your hair is like mine, it might even be a bit more controllable. My hair is fine and lank day to day, but I really think the product gives it a touch more volume too.
~~~ In Summary ~~~
All in all I highly rate this product. It's a perfect stop gap for when you're in a rush. I haven't tried it for when there are many days between actual hair washes though, but the only problem I could foresee would be a build-up of product on the hair. I like this product; it has a lovely fragrance to it and it's just great for all round convenience. I recommend it to you, but only if you have hair that is lighter than dark blonde, so I feel I only can only award this product four stars.
Batiste Dry Shampoo is a spray that helps you if your hair has gone a little bit greasy and you don't want to wash it. It tends to remove some of the grease and you can get an extra day before you wash your hair.
The product looks like a can of hairspray. The one I have is mainly orange and yellow in colour which is designed into flowers, fruit and leaves. It has a white strip across the top and middle with writing in green explaining what the product is called and what it is for. Also there is a yellow circle the name of this smell of the dry shampoo. The back is mostly white, which holds the directions, a caution and ingredients. It also has a warning sign to explain that is highly flammable.
I bought this dry shampoo has when I need to run my daughter to school and I don't have time to wash my hair I can simply spray it in, give it a brush and be on my way. I tend to wash my hair every other day and use this on the morning of the day that I wash it. This is very simple to use, just spray the product into your roots and I use a bristle brush to brush the product through. It does say on the can to massage the product into the roots then brush through. I have never needed to do this. The spray is white in colour and when I first used it I thought, this is going to be interesting as I have quite dark brown hair. But once brushed in, it isn't even noticeable to the eye. I like the smell of this one boho, it is quite sweet and perfumey. I find this helps me last the day until I get home and wash my hair on a night. I know there are other smells and ones for different hair colours. I would be intrigued to try the one for brunette hair to see if there was any difference. My hair is mid length and I find I don't use a lot of the product. I find the 200ml can lasts me a good 2 - 3 months. In my opinion this is a fantastic product and helps me a lot, especially first thing on a morning running after both my girls.
Price and Availability
You can find Batiste Dry Shampoo in most high street shops, larger supermarkets and online. It cost around £2.99 and upwards depending on the size of the can and what type you buy. The cans come in a travel size which is 50ml, a small can of 200mls and a larger can of 200mls.
Most of you will agree, that every person hates something about his or her appearance. While for some people it is spots, weight, wrinkles or whatever, the thing that bothered me the most about how I looked was my hair. I used to love the way it was cut (a bit past shoulder length, with choppy layers and a feathered shorter bit at the front), but it would only take a couple of hours after washing it before my hair would start to show signs of going greasy again. This was mainly a problem at the front of my hair, where it was shorter, and due to being next to my face, it would get greasy from my skin much more quickly. Whereas this wouldn't bother many people, it really annoyed me, as it not only made me look less attractive, I could constantly see it myself and couldn't forget about it. Short of washing my hair constantly, there was nothing I could really do to avoid it, so I let my hair grow to all the same length and kept it away from my face when possible, and while it stopped going greasy as much I didn't like the general appearance of my hair.
That is, of course, until I discovered Batiste. I decided to risk it, and got my hair cut back to how I liked it, and after hearing great things about Batiste's dry shampoo, hoped that my greasiness problems would be over. I hoped that with this spray I could clean just the affected part of my hair quickly, without having to have a shower and restyle my hair all the time. Even now that I have longer hair (haven't had it cut in a couple of years now, so it's about boob length) and have fewer problems with my hair going greasy quickly, I still find dry shampoo indispensable on days where I have no time to wash my hair or when it's starting to show signs of grease.
== Batiste Dry Shampoo ==
Batiste dry shampoo is a spray of a white and powdery substance, which, once sprayed onto the hair, removes most traces of grease from the hair, leaving hair looking shiny and clean once it has been brushed out. I found it easy to spray it directly onto the area that I wanted to de-grease, and as long as I brushed it thoroughly, no traces of the white powder were left behind in my hair (though I would always recommend checking to make sure before you leave the house!). I mainly used to use this on the front portion of my hair, so I had to close my eyes while spraying it to avoid getting it into my eyes, but it was easy to do, and the spray caused no reactions on any part of my head, thankfully. Now I don't really have a side fringe and so only use it on my roots and the results have been similar. These dry shampoos really work and although they are not an alternative to washing your hair properly in the long run, they are great if you don't have time or can't be bothered to wash your hair for a day or two longer than normal.
== Batiste Boho ==
Batiste dry shampoo comes in several different varieties, with new ones being brought out every now and then. I've probably tried all of them at some point, apart from the ones with a hint of colour, as they don't make one for my hair colour. While I tend to keep going back to my original favourite, the coconutty Tropical variety, I also like to try out the other varieties to see if I might like them as much. After trying the relatively new cherry scent, I discovered it to be as good as my favourite and so now would make it joint first choice when buying a new dry shampoo, but wasn't so keen on Wild, for example. Boho is not a new variety in the Batiste range - rather it is one that I first used a few years ago and have not been particularly tempted to go back to. Batiste describes the fragrance as including notes of sandalwood, spiced jasmine and citrus scents, and as being quite light and carefree.
== What I Thought ==
I can't really profess to loving Batiste Boho. While it works just as well as the others in making my slightly greasy hair look nice and clean again without having to wash it, I wasn't mental about its scent. While sandalwood and jasmine are nice enough and make good elements in some perfumes, they're not exactly what I want my hair smelling of. I'm much more a fan of the sweeter, fruitier dry shampoos and greatly prefer my hair to smell of Tropical or Cherry rather than Boho. This is all down to personal preference, however, and you may find that you like the smell of it, so you'll really just have to try it to see whether it'd be the dry shampoo for you.
== Conclusion ==
While Boho works as well as any other in the range, I wouldn't buy it again based on its smell. The scent is by no means horrible, it's just not particularly what I want my hair to smell of. If there were no other scents available and I needed some new dry shampoo I wouldn't be strongly against buying it and would probably do so, it would never be my first choice.
A little look around the internet for an average price has shown that I may not have to worry about being forced to go for this variety, as it no longer appears to be readily available. Searches in Boots and Superdrug gave no results and so I imagine it'd be hard to get your hands on one of these nowadays. It's just as well I'm not recommending it!
I always make sure that I have a can of dry shampoo for those days when I just can't be bothered to wash my hair!
This dry shampoo comes in a spray can and it's ready to use instantly. You don't need any water to use this as it just works from the can. You simply spray the dry shampoo onto your roots and massage it in with your fingers, simples!
The dry shampoo sprays easily onto your roots and it's easy to distribute through your hair. Sometimes it needs a bit of rubbing in as it can leave white marks on the top of your head! I suggest leaving it on your roots for a few minutes before working it into your hair. You can brush the dry shampoo through your hair if you like, this makes sure that your whole head is covered. Aswell as absorbing grease this stuff is great for adding volume to lifeless/ limp hair and it gives your hair a much needed boost. It is safe to use on coloured hair as it doesn't strip your colour. You only need a small amount per application as a little goes a long way, so one can alone would last you a while.
The product also leaves your hair smelling fresh and clean. It has a lovely uplifting scent to it that I would describe as sweet and girly. I would recommend this product to everyone, well to everyone with hair! It's great for travelling and for festivals when you know it's going to be difficult to find a bathroom!
A camping/ festival must have, I brought the Boho Batiste dry shampoo after a recommendation from a friend, and have to say I love the products as it's compact and efficient. It keeps my hair looking freshly washed for hours and is great for giving hair volume. The concept is great and is really useful for in-between days washing and really spruces up hair. The smell is pleasant without being overbearing or too unnatural and the only slight quark I have with the product is that it's sometimes hard to brush out of certain hair types, especially naturally drier hair so you have to be careful that you haven't left any grey patches; if this is a major problem they do sell a slightly more expensive brown spray to reduce the chance of grey spots! The price is fair and it is widely available across the country which is a bonus as I can get it with my weekly shop.
I have had many variations of batiste, and recently purchased the boho scent. Dry shampoo really is a marvellous invention, on days when you don't have time to wash your hair or you wake up to an unexpectedly greasy barnet, this is a godsend. It also makes quite a useful styling product, adding volume and texture to your hair. All you have to do is shake the bottle, spray into your roots or all over, fluff/move/play with/ massage it into your hair and brush out. It claims to leave you with clean, refreshed hair in seconds, and it sure delivers!
The packaging of the dry shampoo is very bright and bold. The new bottle (as batiste have recently re-done their packaging) is orange and yellow with flowers, fuits and plants on it, it has the name written along the top and a small circle with the words 'sweet & spirited boho' written inside it. On the back are some simple instructions, the ingredients and a brief description.
The smell of this is quite sweet and musky with a hint of fruit, it won't be to everyone's taste and i don't love it but it's nothing horrible. The scent doesn't last too long in your hair so it's not really an issue anyway. The shampoo comes out as a white powder and this could be an issue for people with dark hair as if not rubbed in properly it can make the hair look ashy or grey. It can be a problem for blondes too for very much the same reason so you have to make sure you massage it in and brush it out really well.
After spaying it in, massaging and brushing out the hair is no longer limp, but voluminous and fresh looking. You can feel the product in the hair a bit depending on how much you use but if you put it up, then this is no longer a problem. This has the potential to make your hair look quite dry but the clean effect lasts all day long and for that reason i would repurchase it. It's a brilliant solution for girls(and boys) on the go and comes in useful even if you don't think you need it. It retails for around £3 or £4 from boots and superdrug, and i find that the 200ml bottle lasts me around 8-10 uses (I have long hair though)
Overall this is a great product to have for emergencies or times when you need a little more volume and texture, it's well priced and lasts a long time too.
I had never heard of 'Dry Shampoo' until two summers ago whilst watching 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!' I watched bemused as Heidi Pratt regularly waved a large spray can around her head. I initially presumed that it was some form of insect repellent spray, but later found that it was in-fact Dry Shampoo!
I was intrigued by the concept, and thought it sounded like a brilliant idea for those who may be going on a camping trip somewhere quite deserted, but I didn't feel that the Dry Shampoo would be relevant to me, after-all I live in a house with running hot water, and generally wash my hair every-other day.
I hadn't thought much more about Dry Shampoo, until my friend mentioned 'Batiste' during a conversation. She highly recommended the product, and informed me that it could be bought at our local Superdrug for around £2.00.
Now I was intrigued, and decided that I would like to try this 'Dry Shampoo' for myself.
Browsing the Hair-Care aisle in Superdrug, I was quite stumped by the different types of Batiste available. I had thought there would only be one, but there were about eight different types. They were all 150ml spray cans, priced around the £2.00 mark, and it seemed that the only difference between them was the scent of the spray. I smelt the inside lid of a few and decided to go with 'Batiste BOHO dry shampoo'.
The spray can is bright orange, topped with a green lid. It simply displays the Batiste logo with a simple description of the product 'Refreshes hair between washes'.
The back of the can contains more detail on the product i.e, revitalises greasy hair. It also shows directions of use, and informs that this spray is 'quick and easy to use where ever you are'.
My first experience of using the spray wasn't great! I obviously hadn't read the directions properly and sprayed the can far too close to my hair. This resulted in my hair looking greasier than it had before, and I ended up having to wash my hair anyway, as it now looked terrible.
A few weeks later I decided to give the spray another chance and this time I read the directions properly:
'Hold can approximately 30cm from hair and spray lightly, giving even coverage. Use fingertips to massage through hair and leave for a few moments'.
So, I followed the directions, feeling and looking a little silly, as I am also informed to shake the can vigorously before and in-between sprays.
It is recommended that you brush the product out with a 'natural bristle brush'. I do not personally own one of these, but didn't see any problem with using my normal hairbrush.
This time, I was very pleased with the results! My hair was previously a little greasy and limp on the top, but after use, it looked clean and also had added volume. I was quite impressed as I hadn't really thought it would work.
The can describes the scent as 'Heavenly sweet'. I am personally not too keen on the smell. It isn't too over powering though, and wears off after a while, so I am not too bothered by this. Although I will probably try one of the other 'Batiste' sprays next time.
I have used this product on and off for the past 6 months, and my can has just finished! I have found it has come in very handy for those mornings when I have needed to get ready quickly, and haven't had time to wash my hair.
I will be buying another can, as the Dry Shampoo has 'saved' me on many occasions. I am hoping to start using the dry shampoo more frequently, as I know that washing my hair too often (every-other day) is actually bad for my hair. The whole process of washing, drying and styling also takes up a lots of my time, as my hair is so long. I also feel that the product is well priced, I would expect something like this to cost a lot more.
I am planning to wash my hair every three days, using this dry shampoo on the third day, to help me last through the extra day. This should help save me some time, and will hopefully help my hair become healthier, and keep it looking clean.
I would certainly recommend this product to other people. Even if you only use it rarely on those mornings when you wake up and realise that you really should have washed your hair the night before (ladies you will know what I mean).
I would also recommend that you do not spray too close to you'r hair, as I did, because you'r hair will end up looking worse!
Thankyou for reading.
Whenever I go and visit the hairdresser I am always questioning how to get my hair in better condition. A couple of times now she has recommended I wash it less, and to bridge the gap between washing, I should use dry shampoo. I wasn't entirely convinved, but when she said it a couple of times in a row and told me how cheap it was (just £2 at my local tesco). At that price I just couldn't help but give it a go.
The batiste dry shampoo range comes in a variety of scents. I had a brief sniff of the all in the supermarket (trying to not look too wierd!!) and all the scents seemed OK, so I picked up this one, the boho flavour! It comes in a spray tin, orange with a green lid. The packaging is qite young and funky, looks like more of a teenagers product than a classy adult one.
The can has a spray lid, with you press down like hairspray and spray evenly over your hair. I spray from some distance away and cover my partin, then lift my partin up to get some coverage underneath and under my fringe too. I just target these areas as they seem to be the only ones which get greasy. The spray is quite wide so disperses well rather than letting you get a big clump in any one area.
The scent is a very light and modern one, it is lightly floral and nice and subtle. It is not over powering or sickly at all.
Once you spray this on, your hair appears to be quite grey, but it brishes out quite quickly and easily. It blends in well to my hair being light blonde, but I'm not sure if it would quite be so ideal in darker hair. The dry shampoo seems to disperse a powder which soaks up any grease (or that's how my head thinks it works!). I was worried it would dry my hair out, but it really doesn't.
I was also worried that this product might remove my grease, but that it might leave it lank and lifeless, how it looks when it needs a wash, but it doesn't at all, it seems to give it a bit of volume along with it's new lease of life.
I really like his product and have reduced washing my hair every other day to once every four days now. The condition has really noticeable improved. I would 100% recommend this product.
This product is one of my all time favourite hair care products, i'm never without it!
I first heard about batiste from my bestfriend. I know i shouldn't wash my hair everyday, but i just love the feeling of my hair being clean and fresh. But somehow, washing my hair everday, lead to my hair feeling greasy and flat, so my friend suggested i used Baptiste, dry hair shampoo, and i quite literally fell in love with it.
Batisite BOHO is available from most supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Ocado and ranges from £2.00 - £2.15 in price. It's usually involved in deals in Asda, so check back for the best prices!
The packaging is a little delight. All of the sprays are brightly coloured, and the BOHO dry hair shampoo in particularly bright with the orange and yellow colours. The label is outlined in green, which makes it stick out and easy to spot on the shelves. It's got lots and lots of info on the back about the product also. The dry hair shampoo itself come out a spray at the top, which is really easy to use, and this is covered by a little lid, which i seem to somehow loose, all the time!
The scent of this product is actually amazing. It's really fruit, fresh and feminine, which i love! And rather tropical, perhaps with a little hint of citrus. It's also really easy to apply, just squeeze the nozel and out comes the product. The product itself is light, but when sprayed on the hair leaves a white/light residue which requires massaging or brushing into the hair in order to take full effect.
This product leaves fabulous results. Within a few seconds of spraying, lifeless, dull and greasy hair is transformed into clean, full, volumous hair. For me, this product worked a treat. It rid me of the greasy and lifelessness within my hair, and left it feeling fresh. It also slightly lightens the hair, and when i was blonde, found it was useful when covering roots from my natural dirty blonde hair.
This product is pretty awesome! If you haven't tried it already, i reommend you do. For me, this product is worth every penny and worth the time taken to apply. Makes a huge difference to my hair.
I have happy hair now, haha.
One of my must have beauty products.
I thought by now I must have tried all the different Batiste Dry Shampoo versions but I saw Batiste Boho in Boots a few weeks ago and realised I hadn't tried that one. I have reviewed all the other version so this review will be somewhat similar as they all work the same with just different smells but I sometimes think the smell is one of the defining parts of the product and if you like it, it makes all the difference.
Batiste Boho Dry Shampoo is described as having a heavenly sweet fragrance and I would definitely agree. It is one of the nicest smells of all the Batiste Dry Shampoo's range in my opinion. It is sweet but not chemically smelling like some of the others are. Also, it does not linger on your hair during the day, unlike the Tropical fragrance, and so you are not stuck smelling a bit of a strong smell all day and you can wear perfumes or other fragrances.
So, what exactly does this dry shampoo do and why is it one of my must have beauty products? As it says on the can, dry shampoo, "refreshes and revitalises hair between washes." It basically takes all the grease out of my hair, especially at the roots. It also gives my hair a bit of volume which is nice and sometimes it looks even better than if I have just washed it. My hair is quite greasy and often I do not want to wash my hair everyday as I have spent ages straightening it etc, the day before and love that this really works for my hair.
The shampoo is really easy to us. You basically just spray it onto your hair and it comes out in a fine mist much like the consistency of talcum powder. You then leave it for a few minutes and then brush the excess powder off your hair. It's really easy to do this and it comes out really effectively but I do suggest if you are wearing black to do it before you put your clothes on as because it is the consistency of talc it will get everywhere.
This product just really really works for me and I think it is such a god price which is why it really is one of my must haves! If you have quite dull and lank hair this will really perk it up. I have quite dark blond hair and I find this spray also lights it up quite a bit which is nice. I tend to find you can only use it for one or two days after washing your hair, anymore and the effect does not really work and the greasy look will still come through.
The container is pressurised as it works with butane and is extremely flammable. I find it's best to keep it in a dark place such as a bathroom cabinet. My only disappointment with this product is that I find a can does not last very long. Sometimes the spray does not come out too well even though there is some still left in the can and does not cover your hair with the powder like it should. This may be due to the nozzle being blocked which can be unblocked with warm water but generally I only get about two to three weeks of use out of each can. Saying that though for a great price and the fact that it works so well I would definitely recommend this product.
The Boho version comes in an orange coloured can with a green lid. THe orange colour distinguishes it from the other cans which are either green, yellow or pink. This can now costs £2.39 which has gone up from £2.09 when I first started buying this product a few years ago.
A product I definitely recommend!!
I want to start by saying before i used this product i was very sceptical that something could leave you hair feeling a fresh as the day your washed it however for under two quid thought it would be worth a try and if worst came to worst could always use it on the dog!
The product comes on many different scents however i opted for 'BoHo' due to the fresh, clean smell it promoted. The product is meant to be sprayed directly at the roots of your hair and then massaged in using your fingertips.
Personally i divide my hair into sections and spray directly on to the roots of each section to capture all the grease and make it smell nicer. One sprayed and thoroughly massaged you are good to go! I would however suggest this product is best for lighter coloured hair as it can leave a slightly white residue which is invisible on blonde but may be more prominent on darker hair. So for this reason The Batiste range also offers coloured dry shampoo for Brunettes. This is slightly darker in colour meaning it blends in to the hair easily and is great for covering up uncoloured roots!
Overall i would rate this product 10/10 - the smell is fantastic, it is great for achieving that freshly washed feel and washes out very easily. I would not recommend using it two days in a row as can leave hair looking a bit limp if re-applied several times.
I have used Batiste for a number of years. I purcahsed the Boho one in place of the Blush which I normally prefer. A can of this costs around £2 you can get it in Boots and all supermarkets. Compared to other dry shampoos on the market this is very competatively priced.
The product comes in an aerosol can and the full size is 150ml (you can buy smaller versions for holidays etc..) The packaging is very 1970's but as long as it does the job! It promises to refresh and revive hair in between washes.
When I first tried this I was sceptical as it comes out like a white powder which was a little offputting I had visions of my hair going white. However this is not the case. To use the product you need to spritz it on your roots, leave a moment and then rub in vigourously. You need to use this sparingly and add more as needed otherwise you can get a white build up in your hair. The product has a sweet smell I can't really describe it, it's not unpleasant. The first thing I noticed after using this was that my hair had increased volume and smelt fresher. It did a good job of removing the greasiness, you couldn't really tell I hadn't washed my hair.
I have blonde hair and it suits my hair colour well, I can imagine that on darker hair it may be noticable I have since noticed they make this for dark hair specifically.
I would recommend that you try this, I find it a lifesaver, it's ideal for camping or after a night out to refresh your hair. Of course it is no substitute for a hair wash but it does the job when you don't have the time.
I had never heard of a dry shampoo before I was recommended to take some to a music festival after talking about the lack of washing facilities there! It was then that I trotted into Boots looking for this product but not really knowing what to look for at the same time.
I came across this make, Batiste, who had at the time about 3 different varieties of canned dry shampoo which comes packaged in an aerosol can of 150ml. The description on the packaging stated that it refreshes hair between washes. This seemed to be just the product I needed so I bought it for around £1.80 which seemed very resonable if it lived up to it's claims.
The can was a bright orange colour and the version I bought was Boho as I prefered this scent which actually smells a bit like a body spray so it's nice to scent your hair. The full description on the can is - 'Batiste Boho dry shampoo, with a heavenly sweet fragrance, revitalises greasy, dull and lifeless hair between washes. Instantly leaves your hair feeling clean, full of body and smalling beautiful. Quick and convenient to use wherever you are'. I thought this was a bit of a bold claim but I looked forward to trying it out.
As the product comes packaged in an aerosol, it has to be stored out of direct sunlight and cannot be exposed to temperatures exceeding 50 degrees or 120f. This product cannot be used on sore or broken skin as it may irritate. The product is manufactured in England but there are not details of a website on the can.
I was very glad I bought this when I did as I had an emergency one morning when my alarm didn't go off and I was due in work in 15 minutes! I sprayed my hair with this and followed the directions which state to shake the can, hold 30cm from head and spray a light covering over roots. Then using my fingertips, I lightly brushed the product through my hair and left it for a couple of minutes as instructed. I found it wasn't very visable in my hair as I have very light blond hair but when my sister used this it looked like talcum powder in her hair and a lot more brushing out was required. After leaving it to settle in and soak up any grease you then brush your hair as normal.
I have to say I was very impressed with the results. My hair looked not far from freshly washed, there was no sign of any greasiness and it gave my hair more body than it had a few minutes earlier. The scent was also nice adding the extra feeling of freshly washed hair. I found that the product lasted the day so I didn't feel like I had greasy hair by the afternoon and the appearance was still good.
This product was a godsend at the music festival I went to as I was unable to wash my hair for 4 days!! They actually do a small travel size aerosol can too so this is great for weekends away or for going on holiday. I always keep a can at home now just in case the alarm incident is ever repeated, but I would fully recommend this product.
The only thing I would say is that I have seen reviews from people with very dark hair that have trouble removing the traces of this product from their hair as it does come out in a white powder form and can leave you with grey hair if not completely rubbed through! Therefore it may take more time to use for people with dark hair and you may want to be careful with the amount you spray onto your hair.
I'd recommend this product 100% for a quick fix but obviously nothing can beat the feel and the appearance of freshly washed hair.
Thank you for reading.
Batiste Boho is a dry shampoo that you spray on your hair, rub through and then brush. This product really needs to be shaken well and held at a distance from the hair. On some occasions I have sprayed the product too close to my hair and has left my hair with a pale white color and as a result needed washing anyway.
Since this occasion I have held the product at a distance and had fewer problems. The product does make the hair look less greasy between washes as it dulls the shine.
The product claims that "Instantly leaves the hair feeling clean". I find that it does make the hair feel cleaner for a short while but I start to feel like my hair still needs washing after a few hours. It also claims that it leaves the hair "smelling beautiful". This I have found to be true and does as it says on the bottle. The sweet fragrance of bastiste boho does last in the hair and is one of the main positives of this product.
Another positive is the instructions on the bottle are clear which makes the product simple to use. To balance my negative experience of the product it does clearly say on the bottle to shake well and not to spray too close. This problem was my own fault not a fault with the product. My only disappointment with this dry shampoo was the length of time in which the refreshing feeling of product lasts between washes.
The product is relatively inexpensive in comparison with other hair products on the market so is an affordable option for people who wish to leave their hair longer between washes. Although the product doesn't refresh the hair for as long as I would hope it does leave the hair smelling nice for the best part of the day.
The Batiste dry shampoo was recommended by a friend. I chose the bastiste dry shampoo: Boho because of the bright and warm colours on the bottle. There are other types and smells but the exterior attracted me to this particular product.
Overall I feel that the product is fair for it's price.
