I have very fine hair which is also dry from over bleaching so I only wash my hair every three days to try and prevent it getting even more dried out. Due to this I often get greasy roots so I have started to use 'dry shampoo' - shampoo that you spray onto dry hair at the roots like hairspray meaning you don't need to wash your hair as often. Batiste is probably the most well known dry shampoo brand in the UK and they now have quite a large range of different dry shampoos in many different scents.
Batiste Cherry retails at £2.99 for 200ML and there is also a travel sized can available at £1.50 for 50ML.
The dry shampoo is packaged in an aerosol spray can, prettily designed with a pattern of cherries all over leaving you with no doubt what scent to expect when spraying onto your hair. The can is very bright and colourful, I like the Batiste can designs a lot as they look very pretty on your bathroom shelf, and they're also easy to spot on shop shelves jam packed with other similar products.
The spray only has a slight smell of cherry which I imagine a lot of people would be disappointed by, but I'm actually quite glad the smell isn't too strong as I don't like hair products that are too overpowering. Like all dry shampoos, the consistency of the spray is quite thick and can look quite white when first sprayed onto the hair. The directions on the can are to spray it onto the roots of the hair and then massage in with fingers and then comb through and style as necessary. The effect the spray has on my hair is amazing, even on days when my hair is really greasy, I spray this and it has my hair looking it's best again. Usually the effect lasts all day but there have been a couple of occasions where I've had to respray my hair again in the afternoon. Batiste dry shampoo is also good at giving flat hair more volume, it also seems to be good at covering root growth if you dye your hair blonde - probably due to the fact it has a white consistency.
The only real drawback I have found with using Batiste Dry shampoo is that if you run your fingers through your hair during the day absentmindedly you will often find that some of the powder will transfer to your hands and can get on your clothes where it leaves white marks. These do however wash out easily.
Overall, a great product that I will continue to use.
--- Introduction: Why I brought this product ---
I have very long, thick hair that is a nightmare to get dry once I have washed it. For this reason, I don't often have time to wash it on week days. Dry shampoo is my savior, it means I can refresh my hair without having to worry about getting up really early to wash it or sleeping with it wet. I am a big fan of Batiste dry shampoos, and when I saw this flavour I knew I had to try it.
--- The Product ---
Like all Batiste dry shampoos, this product comes in a tin can with a aerosol spray on the top. The can is sturdy and doesn't dent easily, even when dropped. The design on this can is a turquoise colour, with red cherries printed onto it. I think this design is very appealing, it is very modern and I think it looks very nice on my shelf, much more exciting than all of the plain bottles.
This dry shampoo is designed to refresh hair between washes and is 'Cheeky Cherry' flavoured. The spray has a wide range and you can cover your whole hair with just a few sprays. This is great as it means you can apply this product really quickly and brush it through your hair, leaving you more time for a lie in!
This dry shampoo is available for around £2.99, which is fairly pricey but it does last for good amount of time, especially if you are only applying it to your roots. Batiste products are regularly on offer at either Boots or Superdrug, so it might be worth picking up a few if you see an offer. Even at full price, I still think this product is good value for money. I use it so often, and it makes such a difference to the way my hair looks, saving me so much time in the mornings.
--- My Opinions ---
I wanted to try this flavour because my one issue with some of the other Batiste dry shampoos is the scent. They tend to be very strong and I'm not a huge fan. However, I love cherry scents and the idea of my hair smelling like cherries was very appealing to me! I have to say I was not disappointed by the scent of this product! It does have a hint of the 'dry shampoo' smell that I am not a huge fan of, but the over riding scent is definitely cherries. The scent of this dry shampoo isn't too strong, but I can definitely smell it in my hair.
As with all dry shampoos, this product needs to be used carefully and it a good natural light. The product can spray onto hair like a white powder if you apply it close to the hair or a lot in one place. This can be resolved my rubbing it in, or by brushing it through with a good hairbrush. However, make sure you are in a natural light when you apply it. So many times I have put this product in my hair and it's looked fine in my bedroom and then when I go to the bathroom where there is more natural light, I realise that the top of my hair is actually really white!
Apart from the fact that if you are not careful, you can end up with a white head, Batiste dry shampoos work amazingly well. My hair looks completely refreshed after using this product and it can turn my hair from looking dull and greasy to clean and ready to leave the house. I was skeptical before I tried dry shampoo, but I can honestly say they are amazing if you want to quickly refresh your hair before you go out. Obviously, this is no substitute for washing your hair and it doesn't look as good as if you had washed your hair, but it is a close second and a takes a lot less time!
Dry shampoos are mainly used for refreshing hair and making it look clean between washes, and this is what I primarily use mine for. However, it can also work well in hair to add volume if sprayed in the underneath layers and to help hold styles. I don't often use mine for this, as my hair is naturally really thick and has a lot of volume, but I have tried it to see how well it works with good results. I think if you have thin, flat hair this can work as a great alternative to expensive volumising products.
Overall, I love this product. I couldn't get through the week without dry shampoo and Batiste is by far the best brand that I have tried. The quality of this product is in line with the other Batiste dry shampoos, doing exactly what it promises to. This has fast become my favourite dry shampoo, because it smells so good and I personally think it definitely has the best scent of the Batiste range. I would highly recommend this product if you are a busy person who wants a quick and easy way to refresh their hair when they don't have time to wash it.
I had never heard of a dry shampoo before I was recommended to take some to a music festival after talking about the lack of washing facilities there! It was then that I trotted into Boots looking for this product but not really knowing what to look for at the same time.
I came across this make, Batiste, who had at the time about 3 different varieties of canned dry shampoo which comes packaged in an aerosol can of 150ml. The description on the packaging stated that it refreshes hair between washes. This seemed to be just the product I needed so I bought it for around £1.80 which seemed very resonable if it lived up to it's claims. The can was a bright green with pink cherries printed on it and the fragrance was 'Cherry', the can was quite attractive and the product smelt nice, very fruity. The full description on the can is - 'Batiste Blush dry shampoo, with a heavenly sweet fragrance, revitalises greasy, dull and lifeless hair between washes. Instantly leaves your hair feeling clean, full of body and smalling beautiful. Quick and convenient to use wherever you are'. I thought this was a bit of a bold claim but I looked forward to trying it out.
As the product comes packaged in an aerosol, it has to be stored out of direct sunlight and cannot be exposed to temperatures exceeding 50 degrees or 120f. This product cannot be used on sore or broken skin as it may irritate. The product is manufactured in England but there are not details of a website on the can.
I was very glad I bought this when I did as I had an emergency one morning when my alarm didn't go off and I was due in work in 15 minutes! I sprayed my hair with this and followed the directions which state to shake the can, hold 30cm from head and spray a light covering over roots. Then using my fingertips, I lightly brushed the product through my hair and left it for a couple of minutes as instructed. I found it wasn't very visable in my hair as I have very light blond hair but when my sister used this it looked like talcum powder in her hair and a lot more brushing out was required. After leaving it to settle in and soak up any grease you then brush your hair as normal.
I have to say I was very impressed with the results. My hair looked not far from freshly washed, there was no sign of any greasiness and it gave my hair more body than it had a few minutes earlier. The scent was also nice adding the extra feeling of freshly washed hair. I found that the product lasted the day so I didn't feel like I had greasy hair by the afternoon and the appearance was still good. This product was a godsend at the music festival I went to as I was unable to wash my hair for 4 days!! They actually do a small travel size aerosol can too so this is great for weekends away or for going on holiday. I always keep a can at home now just in case the alarm incident is ever repeated, but I would fully recommend this product. I even use this to brighten my roots if I need to cover them up before having a chance to colour it!
The only thing I would say is that I have seen reviews from people with very dark hair that have trouble removing the traces of this product from their hair as it does come out in a white powder form and can leave you with grey hair if not completely rubbed through! Therefore it may take more time to use for people with dark hair and you may want to be careful with the amount you spray onto your hair.
I'd recommend this product 100% for a quick fix but obviously nothing can beat the feel and the appearance of freshly washed hair.
Thank you for reading.
Some time ago I bought my very first dry shampoo to use between washing my hair and found I liked the dry shampoo quite a lot. I decided to buy this one from the Batiste range because I like the smell of cherries and thought this one would have a fruity scent.
The shampoo comes in a can and it is very easy to use by just holding the can around 30cm from the root of the hair and just spraying it directly onto the roots. The can must be shaken first before using it. The shampoo smells of cherries and a really nice pleasant fruity fragrance. It isn't too strong a smell but it does smell really nice in my opinion.
It leaves a very fine white powder on the hair root and it then has to be just massaged gently into the hair, it only takes a minute or 2 to fully massage it into the hair. After a couple of minutes the white powder residue is absorbed into the hair and disappears. I cannot see any of the powder on my hair after it has absorbed. I have blonde hair and it blends well into my hair colour and my hair colour looks exactly the same colour as before I used any of the shampoo and my colour doesn't fade at all. You do have to make sure all of the powder is absorbed fully though so that no powder can be seen on the hair. I haven't had any problems with the powder blending into my hair.
I would advise to place a towel around your shoulders when using it if you are dressed because some of the powder may fall onto the clothing. If I am dressed when I use it, I just wrap a towel around my clothing so no powder is on my clothing and I don't have to get changed etc. I usually use it when I have had a shower in the morning and maybe don't want to wash my hair in the shower and then have to blow dry it etc. This powder just helps on days when I cannot be bothered to blow dry my hair.
The powder is designed to help greasy, oily roots, I find it does work well for absorbing any oil and it does clean my hair well enough to allow me to wash my hair every couple of days instead of every day. I use it on my very lazy days and find I can style my hair well and it doesn't feel too lank or weighted down or look greasy etc. It just allows me to have clean hair and not have to wash it more often than I actually want to wash it.
It is easy to brush from the hair and I find no powder is on my hair when I brush it out. My hair is quite long at the moment and this shampoo has left my hair in a good condition and not left it feeling dry or too greasy until I wash it with a shampoo.
If you have never used a dry shampoo before you will be amazed how well they work for cleaning the hair. The very first time I used one and saw the white dusting of powder on my hair I thought it may not disappear completely and I would then have to wash my hair to remove it. I was very wrong and it does disappear in no time at all.
My hair does smell of cherries and I do like the smell quite a lot, the fruity fragrance is apparent on the hair for a good while after spraying it. I find it does last a good 3 or 4 hours on the hair.
It gives my hair that boost I need until I wash it and it gives it some body and I find it does also condition my hair quite well too. It just revitalises my hair well to leave it looking nice and with some bounce. Just adds a little body to my hair. Also leaves it clean looking and refreshed.
I am really happy with the results this dry shampoo gives my hair. I bought it for just £2.99 for a 200ml can, for this price I think it is a good price and well worth the money. I think it is affordable and is a good quality shampoo.
I think it is ideal to use if you don't have too much time to wash your hair if you have a lot of children and don't have as much time to spare if a child may be ill etc. I think it will just keep your hair looking nice until you have more time on your hands again.
I highly do recommend this dry shampoo to anyone who hasn't bought it before and are wanting to use a shampoo in between washing your hair in the shower or bath. Works well for my hair and I am more than happy with the results. I will most certainly buy this one again in the future.
I give this one 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
I have used Batiste dry shampoo for a number of years when I started using it there was only one scent original but as time has gone on more fragrances have been introduced as well as coloured versions to suit each hair colour.
The cherry was a fragrance I hadn't tried. It is currently half price in Superdrug at £1.48 for a 200ml can. This particular variety of Batiste is described as cheeky and fruity. The can is really nice it is a pale green colour with cherries all over it.
I normally use dry shampoo every other day or so, I have hair that needs washing every 2-3 days but since going brunette from blonde I find some days it is in need of freshening up because my hair in t as dry as it used to be.
To use the shampoo you are directed to shake the can vigorously and spray 30cm from the roots and massage gently with your fingertips. Once massaged into the hair you need to then brush and style as normal.
The scent of this shampoo is really nice, it reminds me of cherry drop sweets. I have found that if I spray this shampoo to close to my roots it leaves too much white powder, if you spray it further away it applies a fine coating of the powder which can easily be rubbed into the roots. I find that after using this my hair looks a lot fresher the shampoo also adds volume at the roots which gives any lankness. It also makes my hair smell nice even when it is in desperate need of a wash.
There is no substitute for washing your hair but this does a good job of hiding greasy roots and means I can go for another day without the hassle of washing and drying my hair.
I would recommend this dry shampoo, it is the best on the market, I have tried several brands and I always come back to Batiste.
I tried the Batiste Cherry dry shampoo because it was on offer in Boots reduced from £2.99 to £1.99 for the 200ml can, I also had a £1.50 voucher so I was able to get a can for just 49p, can't go wrong at that price I thought.
I was interested in trying dry shampoo because I am going to the Sundown music event at the end of August so I wanted a way to keep my hair fresh whilst camping - I'm glad I tried it before going though as it really isn't for me.
The can is simple like a can of hair spray and there are many varieties for different hair types and with different scents, I liked the sound of the cherry one so I went for that, it is advertised as 'for all hair types'. Batiste say that the dry shampoo revitalises hair between washes so it sounded perfect for while I was camping.
To use the shampoo just shake the can, spray over the hair ( 30cm away), massage into hair and brush through, then you should be ready to style your hair as usual. Not me though! I found this was not at all suitable for my hair, it may be because I have curly hair which is a bit frizz prone anyway, but my hair puffed up into an afro style mess and it looked like I was going grey, i just couldn't get the spray to massage in and my hair felt horrible. I ended up having to wash my hair anyway so rather than save me time it took longer - I am just glad I tried it before I went away or that could have ended up being a bit of a hair disaster!
The only positive thing I found about this was that the scent really is yummy, it is a soft fruity cherry scent and I love it, so its a shame I won't be using the shampoo again.
I still have some other varieties to try out, including the hair plumper and the conditioning mist, but I have a feeling I should do that on a day when my hair style isn't important!
I have previously reviewed the blonde and light version but at £3.99 a can thought I would try out the more cost effective options! A 200ml can of this costs £2.99 from boots and I am sure I have seen priced a bit lower in other places. In any case it is frequently on offer in places like superdrug.Whilst it does seem expensive for what may seem like a non staple product I do think it is reasonable as a can like this will last me between 3 and 4 weeks (although the can feels very light and like there isn't much in there I think that is just the nature of the product).I have fairly fine hair and it does get a bit greasy especially at the front and roots so need to use dry shampoo if I want to avoid washing my hair every day.The product is thus cost effective for me as I saved on normal shampoo plus don't have the hassle of having to wash imy hair every day.
The product comes in a 200ml can.The can is covered in little red cherries with a light green background. It has a bit if a cheesy but also retro feel and you can instantly recognise the product as the cherry scented one. The instructions for application are on the back.
I use the product in two different ways. Firstly the recommended way which is to spray onto the roots for around 30 seconds massage and brush through desired.I will do this first thing in the morning as my main application.I will then use it maybe once during the day to freshen up but just use a 5 second burst this time.application is easy.I turn my head upside down to make it easier to apply directly to the root also. The mist can be a bit of a pain and can be a bit choking so don't know if this is adviseable for people with asthma or other health problems. The nice smell does take the edge off though aalthough does smell less cherry and more like strawberries.
Maintains my hair for the day and reduces grease significantly without over drying.I can only use for the second day of non hair washing but people with less greasy hair may be able to go longer and use for a third day.does leave a white residue even when brushing out but this isn't really noticeable on my hair as it is light blonde.people with dark hair may struggle more.
A couple of weeks ago I bought the very small container of this that was of the floral scent. After enjoying its effects I bought the very large Cherry Batiste. The first thing I did when I spotted this new product was spray it to smell it in the shop. It was lovely. It was very sweet, though it smelt more like strawberry than it did Cherry. The product works the same as the others. You simply spray on the roots and brush it through well. Afterwards I find my hair feeling very fresh and thick as if I had just washed it. All this product is made for is getting rid of oily roots and that is exactly what it does. It works all day too.
The product comes in a very large tin cylinder that is turquoise with lots of sketched cherries on the front. It has the batiste branding logo and the small caption new on the upper left hand corner of it. The lid is grey and it is very easy to pop off. The product is also very easy to use. You just simply pop the cap and push on the dispenser and it sprays powerfully.
I bought mine in Wilkinson for £2.00 and this is great considering that now you find this product for around £2.50. I remember when it first came out when I was in school and it was around 79p. Of course, that is not the Cherry scent because that is a new scent. I would highly recommend this brand and scent as a quick clean over not as a substitute for not washing your hair. However, the price could be a problem in some areas.
=Batiste Cherry Dry Shampoo=
We have one school night where my daughter literally has time to get home change, tea and back out to ballet lessons, and it is a night where you could do with washing her hair, but as she has long thick hair, by the time we have done shampoo, conditioner, detangle then blow dry that is an hour gone, an hour which we don't have spare, so it is dry shampoo to the rescue.
=Price and Availability=
I paid £2.99 for this from Boots, it is available from most retailers. This was a 200ml tin, the brand also do a travel version which is a 50ml size.
The version I purchased was the Cherry variety, this was in a brightly decorated can, which was a pale blue and green colouring with bright red decorated cherries across it.
=What does it do?=
The dry shampoo banished oily roots and gives dull lifeless hair a wash without using water, it adds texture, body and revitalises from the roots upwards. As well leaving the hair smelling of cherries.
=How to Use=
After giving the can a quick shake, the instructions tells you to spray into the roots and massage into the scalp.
=Ease of Use=
On my hair this was really easy to use as my hair is short, so that when I spray the roots, I cover the length of my hair, and for me, I massaged through, and brushed my hair and it did make a massive improvement, and was easy to style.
=On My Daughters Hair=
As my daughter has long hair but it is thick, so I went against the convention and I sectioned her hair and did a section as a time, spraying from the roots then combing out, as we were going along I could see the immediate difference between what had been done and what was waiting to be done.
=Ease of use=
This was so easy to use, for my hair it took about 2 minutes from start to finish, whilst on my daughter it took about 10 minutes, but with practice we had got it down to about 5 minutes, which is brilliant compared to anything up to 1hr on her hair.
This is a really great invention, as it so much time saving, and really does look as though the hair has been washed and styled, the hair has a lovely smell of cherries, without being over powering.
The spray is so easy to use, just follow the instructions such as 30cm away, otherwise you end up with a lot of who of white speckles in your hair.
I don't feel that we could go more than one application of this between washes as it is more of a fresh up process rather than a deep clean, but if you're in a rush or going camping then this would make an ideal product to take with you.
On average this gets used one night a week, when she has ballet and tap, and it does make her hair fresher and a lot easier to manage, as some times we have to have her hair up in a bun or plaited back, so this is a must have for us product and a tin lasts us about 6 weeks, so it is great value for money.
~*~*~ Batiste Dry Shampoo - Fruity & Cheeky Cherry ~*~*~
~What is it? ~
Well, I am sure most people would have heard of Batiste and I expect a lot of women have used it on some occasion or another but for those who are unsure, this is basically a dry shampoo. I would used the term shampoo lightly as it isn't the same as washing your hair with water and regular shampoo but it is for freshening up hair.
~ Packaging ~
I really feel the need to comment on the packaging as the can for this is really chic and cute looking. It comes in an aerosol can which has the usual push down button on the top allowing you to spray your hair. The plastic lid is white and the can itself is rather gorgeous. This particular one is a minty green colour and adorned with dozens of bright red cherries. I think it's really pretty.
~ Why not just wash your hair and be done with it??? I hear you ask ~
To be honest with you, I do wash my hair on a daily basis, and never leave it go greasy, so you may question as to why I bother buying Batiste.
So to answer that - I buy it to add volume to my hair.
My hair is quite fine and flat which isn't ideal for the kinda styles I like which require more volume than I naturally have and that is where this is my saviour!
Of course it is also good for slightly greasy hair or hair that needs a quick freshen up and it does smell nice. I wouldn't really say it has a strong cherry smell but it does smell clean and fresh.
~ Using it ~
If you are unsure how to use it, don't worry as there is a set of three directions on the back of the can.
Shake before use.
Spray on the hair from a distance of around 30cm away, spray into the root area, massage in, brush and style.
It really is that easy.
The spray that comes out of the can is white in colour so keep this in mind if you are dark as it will need to be well massaged in and also used sparingly.
I have blonde hair and even as light as mine is I still find that the white colour is really visable until I have properly gone through my hair.
~ A lot of faff or quick and easy? ~
I think using this is a pretty quick and easy task, you simply spray it, like you would hairspray really but aiming it more to the root area. I don't use much and it takes my hair from fine and flyaway to easy to manage.
If I am in rush to get out of the house and just want to stick my hair up I will spray this on before I start my make-up, massage it and style it after and I find it goes up in a band/bobble much easier, I don't have little flyaway bits, it doesn't slip out of the ponytail and is just easier to manage.
This is something I do tend to use on an almost daily basis and to be fair, I don't even think about it anymore, just do it!
~ Price & Availability ~
Batiste is quite widely available and has a retail price of around £2.99 for a 200ml can. I bought this last can in Superdrug a few weeks back whilst on a half price offer.
Check around in Boots & the like for offers before you pay full price as I usually buy it for around the half price mark.
It is also available in smaller 50ml cans for around £1.50.
Thanks for reading :o) x
I think that dry shampoo is an absolute God send and makes those days where I sleep in and have no time a lot more bearable thanks to the fact that I can quickly make my hair look less greasy without having to take the time to wash and condition it.
I also don't wash and condition my hair everyday so it is good for a little bit of freshening up in between shampoos.
There are loads of different versions of Batiste to choose from but I like the cherry version the best because I like how it smells on my hair.
It comes in a 200ml can and costs £2.99. It is also really easy to use. I just spray the dry shampoo into my roots and then massage it through. Once I have made sure and massaged it all in and really got it in my roots which are the greasiest part of my hair I then just brush and style as normal.
This makes a huge difference to how my hair looks if it is really in need of a wash but I can't for one reason or another. It really absorbs the grease and makes my hair look less lank and lifeless. I do need to be careful to massage it in properly though as if I don't then it just sits on my roots and makes them look grey.
This is just really for removing the grease as it doesn't make my hair look and feel as nice as though I have shampooed and conditioned it but that is to be expected and for what it is I think it does a good job. I also like the smell and think that it fragrances my hair nicely and the cherry fragrance is light and subtle but it lasts in my hair and makes it smell fresh even if it hasn't been washed.
Batiste is an invaluable part of my hair care routine and saves me loads of time when I can't wash and condition my hair as I would like. It leaves it at least looking cleaner and smelling fresher for the hair until I have the time to wash and condition it normally.
It is also really good value and even using it a couple of times a week a can will last me a couple of months at least.
When I was buying bits and pieces to take away with me to Disneyland I decided to pick up a can of dry shampoo just in case I didn't get time to wash my hair like I would when I was at home. As it happened I didn't use the product when I was away but I did end up using it a couple of times before I went and then some afterwards as well! This is my review of the batiste brand cherry dry shampoo.
I actually bought this can of dry shampoo from superdrug where I noticed it as I was queuing up to pay for some other things and as it was half price I decided to get some. I am the marketers dream in the sense that I see things near the tills and impulse buy! Normally a 200ml of dry shampoo costs around £2.99 but this was on offer for £1.49 which I think is a reasonable price to pay for a large enough can of a product you aren't going to be using every day.
The reason that I chose the cherry shampoo was simple and that was because it was a mint green coloured can which featured a really cute cherry print all over it! I am such a girl when it comes to things like this and I love a cute pattern on a product! I did have a quick look at the other products as I think the batiste brand do offer quite a funky range of packaging anyway but I decided to opt for this one which claimed to be an instant hair refresh for all hair types.
The 200ml can is a really good size to hold and the aerosol isn't too wide so I can grip it easily when I want to use it. There are full instructions on how to use the product on the back of the can but I don't think that it is rocket science really and so I didn't really need to read all of this! To use you need to remove the white lid from the can and give it a good shake. You should then hold the can a good distance away from your hair, around 30cm or so which is similar to what you would do if you were using hair spray and spray it in to the roots of your hair. You then need to massage the product in to your hair for a little while and then you can brush and style as normal.
The first time I used this product I actually used it when my son was sat in my bedroom with me and of course I knew that it was going to make my hair look quite white/grey but he was mortified that my hair had changed until I started to massage it in to the roots! I do believe you can get batiste dry shampoo for brunettes; blondes etc nowadays and whether they are a different colour I am not sure as I haven't tried them but this one is certainly white! The dry shampoo is easily massaged in to the roots though and I tend to just rub my hair quite vigorously until there are no traces of it left. Although my hair doesn't feel wonderful when I have used this product and to the touch I can still tell my hair needs washing it does do a great job of making it look better and so you can get away with washing your hair that evening or the next day in my opinion. I wouldn't like to try and use this product for a few days in a row as opposed to washing my hair because I don't think it would work all that well but for the odd day when you wake late or are tired at night it is a really good option to use.
The product does have a sweet cherry fragrance which is quite notable when you spray but the general scent is just that lingering one that you seem to get when you use any aerosol really. I don't seem to notice the cherry fragrance lingering on my hair but this doesn't bother me really as the main reason I want to use a product like this is of course to just freshen up my hair if I have not been able to wash it for whatever reason.
I would recommend this product because it does do what it says on the tin and refreshes your hair in between washes and it will remove any excess grease that you may have on those occasions you cannot wash your hair. I do think personally that it feels a little odd on the hair but it does the job and I think at the half price offer of £1.49 it really is an excellent product.
Thank you for reading my review!
I have previously reviewed the Batiste "blush" dry shampoo which used to be my favourite in the Batiste range until I recently tried this "cherry" Batiste dry shampoo. My hair tends to last only around 24 hours after being washed before it starts to look a bit greasy. As I can't be bothered washing and drying it every day and don't think it's great for my hair to do so either, I regularly use dry shampoo to freshen my hair up a bit.
The Batiste range of dry shampoos come in various scents, each in a different coloured tin. The Batiste "cherry" dry shampoo comes in a lovely tin - it is turquoise in colour with red cherries dotted all over it. There is a white banner on it with the "Batiste" logo in darker turquoise. On the back of the can is the product ingredients and instructions for use.
To use this product you simply apply it in the same way you would any dry shampoo. You spray it onto your hair, rub it in a bit and brush it out. Hair can then be styled as normal. I find giving the can a good shake before spraying, and also spraying lightly minimises the white tinge that is often left behind. I usually apply the shampoo only around my roots as this is where is affected, and I find that immediately after spraying and rubbing in this product the grease has disappeared.
After using dry shampoo in my hair I find that my hair looks a bit duller and less shiny than it does if I have washed it with ordinary shampoo. While the dry shampoo removes the grease it doesn't leave my hair looking as "nice" as it would when I have washed it properly. This is something that I find happens with all dry shampoos so isn't a negative for this product in particular.
This product smells gorgeous - it is fruity and sweet and smells mildly of cherries. I find that unlike other scents in the Batiste range, the cherry variety has a smell that stays in your hair all day which adds to the clean and fresh feeling. I definitely prefer the cherry scent above the other varieties that I have tried.
The can size is 200mls which lasts me around 3 months, with an average use of about 2-3 times a week. The price of Batiste varies depending on where you buy it, as it is readily available in many shops including chemists and supermarkets. I purchased mine for £1.99 and on a 3 for 2 offer in Tesco.
All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Batiste and it is definitely the best out of any dry shampoos I have tried. The "cherry" fragrance is lovely and is definitely my favourite in the range. I give this product 5*. Thanks for reading/rating and I hope you found my review useful.
Despite washing my hair every other day, my hair would turn greasy and oily on the 2nd day. The oiliness gets worse if I'm out and about because fine dusts and particules get attracted to my hair. It doesn't help that my hair is quite thick and quite dark in colour. I have heard of dry shampoos before and I admit that I scoff at the idea of a product that seems to be made for lazy people when I first heard about dry shampoos. However, I have come to realise that, unless I'm willing to watch my hair everyday - which would be a great hassle as my hair length is down to my waist and takes long to dry, I have to start using dry shampoos.
When I was browsing for dry shampoos, I was looking for something cheap and works well. Of course, my first thought is to buy Batistie dry shampoo that is a very popular brand and I have heard good reviews about this brand. Batiste does a very large range of dry shampoos for various needs catering to different hair colours and smells. Since I have never used a dry shampoo before, I decided to go with the Batiste Cherry dry shampoo. For one thing, I really like the retro packing and presentation at a first glance. Also, the price is quite reasonable for a dry shampoo. A 200 ml can of this dry shampoo costs £2.99 more or less depending on retailer. Sometimes, this product is included in the 3 for 2 offers on Boots for anyone interested.
From my experience, this cherry dry shampoo does a very good job. The product comes in a metal canister with a plastic cap and it is very easy to use. Also, it is very lightweight, which makes it easy to be carried around in my bag when I'm out and about. During busy weeks, this product made me looks very presentable if I have to socialise right after a full day at university.
I have quite a long hair, down to my waist, but I don't need to use much of dry shampoo as I only need to apply to the roots. I have dyed my hair to a dark brown/auburn colour and I have no problem with this dry shampoo. I usually do a quick spray of the dry shampoo along my parting at a distance of 6 cm. Then I thoroughly massage the dry shampoo into the roots, so that the oil is soaked up. The scent is quite sweet but doesn't linger for long. However, it does leave my hair quite smooth, as if I've applied invisible talcum powder to my hair.
Since the dry shampoo comes in a metal canister, it is difficult to see how much is left. However, from my experience, a 200ml bottle lasts approximately 2 months with frequent usage. I don't use the dry shampoo continuously between washes; I only use it when I have to make myself presentable and doesn't have time to wash my hair.
Overall, I am please with this product. The only drawback I can think of is that it is quite expensive (about £3 for a 200 ml). However, I buy dry shampoos using vouchers or promotional offers. I am planning to try using other products from the Batiste dry shampoo just to mix and match. I would recommend this product.
Thank you so much for reading. :) x
I have the type of hair which needs to be washed and blow dried every single day in order to keep it fresh and healthy looking. After years of doing this, my hair was showing signs of damage with lots of split ends and heat damage and the hairdresser suggested that I try washing it every second day instead. Whilst I appreciated her advice, I knew that I just couldn't get through a second day without ending up with a head like a chip pan, until a friend recommended Batiste dry shampoo.
This is so easy to use, yet so effective. On the second morning, I now get up, hang my head upside down and spray the product liberally around the roots of my hair. I then leave it for a few moments before rubbing it in and brushing through. At first, I applied too much of the product and ended up with very white roots which just didn't look right, however after experimenting a few times, I figured out the right amount to use and now it is a breeze to use. It dries to an invisible finish and soaks up any grease at the roots, leaving the hair looking good as new.
The scent is lovey and fresh with a hint of cherry which helps to keep you feeling fresh throughout the day.
My only criticism of this product is that whilst it leaves the hair looking good, it does make it feel sort of dry and like it has a heavy coating on it however I feel that this is a small price to pay for the extra time I now get to spend in bed as a result of using it.
