Advantages: Makes hair look less greasy, Volumises hair, Smells great, Convenient.
Disadvantages: Price.
I like to always have a can of dry shampoo on the go, just in case of a hair emergency or in case I am ever running late and do not have time to wash it. Dry shampoo seems to have become more and more popular now with many brands releasing their own version. The original and the brand I have known to use is Batiste who are very much famous for their extensive range of dry shampoos. After previously dabbling with a number of their products in the range, I decided to try out one of the newer ones. I went in with the intention of picking shampoo, and after seeing that there was a fruity one available, I just couldn't resist picking up this cherry option.
I purchased mine from Boots and the price of it is £2.99. Personally, I do think it is quite a steep price considering how quickly dry shampoo can be used up. However, this is a 200ml can which is considerably bigger than their original shampoos. It is worth looking for when they are on offer. As well, as other brands are bringing out similar products, these just seem even more expensive. However, I was in need of some and was not complaining too much about the price. These are available from many drug stores such as Boots and Superdrug.
The 200ml can is quite tall in size. This particular one comes in a greeny aqua shade with loads of little cherries scattered all over. I have to say that this one stood out to me and I just had to pick it up. It operates like all other dry shampoos, and is very simple to use. Dry shampoo is useful for when you have not washed your hair, or if it needs sprucing up a little bit. I tend to use mine most when I am in a hurry and don't have long to style my hair. To use it, you simply need to give the can a good shake and then just apply by spraying all over the hair. I focus particularly on my roots as this is where is the most oily. It is recommended that you hold the can 30cm away from your hair which I have found gives the best results. Once you have sprayed all over your head, you simply have to rub it in with your fingers and make sure you have not left and grey bits. Because it comes out at such a force and in a white powder, if you do not rub it in to the hair, sometimes you can get the odd patch of white/grey so be sure to blend it in. I have mastered this now so don't have this worry, but when you have dark hair like me you have to be cautious.
The thing that sets this dry shampoo apart from the others is its signature scent. Obviously, this being cherry. I would not say cherry is a particularly favourite scent of mine, however it works really well in this dry shampoo. It is quite sweet and fruity, and gives your hair a nice smell to it. It is in no way overpowering, and it's a nice little extra to the product. I really like the smell of this, and I would say that it is one of my favourite Batiste scents of the lot. It is quite sweet however, and I know that this would not be to everyone's taste.
The results of using this were really great. It boosted my roots and gave my hair much more volume, and made it just look healthier. It prevents your scalp and roots from looking oily, and leaves your hair looking bouncy and clean. Unfortunately, the results do not last for ages but they certainly last a good few hours. I carry it around with me in case I need to reapply some of it. I would say it lasts a good four to five hours, but obviously things such as the weather or touching your hair will make it start to look greasy again. However, I was really impressed with the results it gave my hair, and you can not expect it to work miracles.
Overall, this is a really nice dry shampoo from Batiste. It leaves your hair looking much better for a good few hours and definitely makes it look less greasy. The lovely cherry scent just adds an extra something to this wonderful product, and leaves the hair smelling lovely and clean as well as looking great. I am really happy with this purchase, and I will be awarding it four stars as it did everything that I expected. Unfortunately, I do think that £2.99 is just too expensive for something like this which I can use up within weeks, so for that I will be knocking off one star. Thanks for reading.
Summary: A fruity and effective dry shampoo.
