Advantages: Makes hair look fresh in between washes

Disadvantages: Not convinced by the 'hint of colour'

Since having discovered Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo, I have become a firm fan of Batiste. Despite being completely happy with the results I got from the Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo, when I ran out of it, I opted to try the Batiste Dry Shampoo with a Hint of Colour. Thinking that it might be more convenient to use a dry shampoo that was more closely matched to my hair colour rather than the white/grey marks that come from a normal bottle, I was quite happy to make the switch despite it being a little more expensive.

If you're unfamiliar with the idea of dry shampoos, they are used to be sprayed upon greasy hair in between washes to keep hair looking clean. To use, pull hair back so that you can see the roots, and spray as required. You can then either brush it out, or like me, massage it through the hair with your fingers. I find this to be more effective at making the spray look less obvious.

So, the point of this dry shampoo, as I mentioned, was to make the shampoo look less obvious than the white marks you'd otherwise get from dry shampoo, as it comes in a variety of colours which can be picked to suit your hair colour (Light and Blonde/Medium and Brunette/Dark and Deep Brown/Black). I picked 'Medium and Brunette' as I thought that this was the shade that would most suit my hair. However, I was a little disappointed with the shade of colour I picked, as it did not give the effect I had hoped for. I found it to be too light for my hair, and I probably would have been better going for the 'Dark and Deep Brown' shade if I'd wanted to make it blend in with my hair better. This does, however, suggest to me that the darkest colour would appear light on a person with dark hair, as I really do not believe I have dark brown hair. Additionally, if I happen to scratch my head after having put this spray on, I find that the coloured spray gets under my fingernails, giving them a really dirty look which is quite unpleasant.

The 150ml spray can can be bought from Boots for £3.05.

Overall, this spray does do what dry shampoos are meant to - it makes my hair look fresher in between washes. However, I was a little disappointed that this had not looked as natural on my hair as I'd hoped it would. I think I would have preferred to have saved the extra 80p on the cheaper, nicer smelling version of Bastiste Blush Dry Shampoo that I know I like. I'll continue using the spray until it runs out, however after that I won't be buying it again.

Summary: Not as good as the cheaper Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo
