Advantages: Works really well, somewhat bigger hair

Disadvantages: None

I have been using Batiste dry shampoo for a long time now and love the way it works on my hair. I have fairly greasy hair but don't always want to wash it everyday because it then takes me hours to style it afterwards to make it look nice. However, I still want my hair to look nice in between washes and Batiste really works for me. Over the years I have basically tried all the different fragrances, the Batiste with a hint of colour and the newest one I have tried is this Big and Bouncy version.

According to the packaging this Batiste XXL Volume, "revitalises hair, banishes oily roots and gives you so much body and texture, your up-do takes no time." They say that, "A quick burst with our unique formula gives dull, lifeless hair the volumising makeover it needs. No water and no backcombing - just big-style glamour and a great clean, fresh feeling."

A dry shampoo is basically a powder that you spray onto your hair that then soaks up the grease and leaves your hair nice and fresh and without grease in it. Like I've mentioned above Batiste works really well on my hair and I find it really easy to use. I was really interested to try this particular version because I find that the other sprays give my hair a bit of volume and texture anyway and I can get away with using it for at least 2 days in a row and still have quite thick and good looking hair so I was interested to see if this would make my hair any better than the other versions.

All the Batiste cans look pretty much the same apart from a bit of a different colour depending on what variety you use. This can of Batiste has pink swirly lines all over it and a big dark pink circle with Big and Bouncy, XXl volume written on it so you know which version it is. A 200ml can costs £2.50 so the same price as all the others. Gosh, I remember paying less than £2 when these first came out, oh how prices go up!

So, I used this spray the same way as I use all the other ones. When you spray it onto your hair it comes out in a fine mist much like the consistency of talcum powder. To use you shake the can first, hold the nozzle a little way away from your hair and then spray lightly onto your hair, concentrating on all the greasy areas. Beware: this gets everywhere! As it is a talc light mist if you spray it in the air it falls onto all your surfaces and covers them in a light powder so I would recommend not using over black surfaces where it will really show up.

After you have sprayed it on I suggest leaving it on for a few minutes. I then get my brush and brush/shake the excess powder off. Make sure you brush it out everywhere or it leaves a greyish powder in your hair that makes you look like you've got grey hair. The spray had a bit of a chemical smell, sort of like the original one in my opinion and didn't really have a particular scent to it but I find these fade pretty quickly on my hair anyway.

Well, I definitely came out with quite big hair after using this version of Batiste and liked the way it made my hair look but I wouldn't say it was that much more thicker and volumised than the other versions. I would say this spray would work well when you are wanting to put your hair up as it did make my hair quite thick so I will continue to use this and buy it now and again when I want to achieve a nice clean, non greasy up do!
