=== Introduction: ===
Batiste has been around for over 40years and is well known for their dry shampoo, a somewhat revolutionary product in the hair-care scene. This is a review of their original dry shampoo, which is my favourite!
=== The Product: Design/Packaging: ===
Batistes products all come in a bog-standard hair-spray style can. The packaging of this one is a blue, green and yellow stripe patter, with a white stripe that has ‘Batiste’ in big cursive writing.
=== Price and availability: ===
It’s available in 50ml, 200ml and 400ml cans.
At BOOTS and SUPERDRUG the prices are:
normal(200ml): £2.99 - they don''''t stock 150ml
It is also readily available Tescos, Adsa and other supermarkets and corner shops!
=== Using the product: ===
Batiste is really easy to use, there are very clear instructions on the back of the can, telling you to:
1) Hold the can 30cm away from the hair you want to put it on, then spray
2) Rub it in with your fingers (it brushes out)
3) Style the hair!
It''''s great because it only takes 1minute!
When you''''ve finished your day, just wash it out and give your hair a good conditioning treatment as it can dry the hair out a little!
=== Tips and tricks: ===
1) Make sure to really rub it in well, otherwise you can end up with grey patches
2) It brushes out, but this can be great, especially if you put too much in to your hair, just give it a few brushes and then rub it in some more!
3) It can be used as an effective styling product, I often use it to get my fringe to sit better in the mornings
4) Be careful when playing with your hair after you have this in it, if you have too much in, it can fall out and look like bad dandruff!!
5) I would not recommend ''''layering'''' dry shampoo and using it for a few days, it will not make your hair look any better!
=== Overall opinion: ===
Batiste dry shampoo is a life-saver! It is a great last-minute alternative to washing, drying and styling your hair. However, it is not meant as something to be used every day or most days of the week... it really should be used as an occasional item because it can dry out your hair a lot! While it''''s a great product, nothing beats the feeling of freshly washed and dried hair!

I have chosen to review the original Batiste dry shampoo, this review however applies to the whole Batiste range as they are pretty much the same apart from different fragrances.
I thought I would give this stuff a go after getting fed up of having to wash my hair every day. As a busy mum of 3 I don't always get time to do this, so when I spotted this can in the shop I had to try it out.
It comes in an aerosol spray can with a feminine, girly design. To get best results you need to spray a good few inches away from your hair, else you will end up with white bits (not good when you are brunette like me) it absorbs any grease or oil and always hides any smells (fried food, smoke etc) making your hair look, smell and feel fresh without the hassle of washing, drying and straightening!
The spray feels quite powdery which can irritate the back of your throat a little as it is very dry rather than a wet mist like most aerosol sprays. After you have applied just a small amount your hair looks instantly better, like the powder spray has literally mopped up any grease! After a quick brush (I recommend doing this to make sure there is no residue powder left over) your hair will look as though it is fresh and clean.
I also find it good for when I have returned from a night out it where I have been around smokers. As a non smoker myself I can instantly smell the stale stench after returning from a smokers house but find a quick spray of Batiste disguises the odour, making my hair smell fresh again.
It truly is amazing stuff! Rather than having to wash my hair everyday, I now do it every 3 days. I could probably get away with longer but that's my personal preference.
Amazing stuff, a must for every woman! I even have the trial sized one in my handbag for touch ups!
I discovered this product a good few years back when a friend of mine met me for lunch. The first thing i noticed was her amazingly bouncy hair. You see she like myself suffers from oily hair which has effected my confidence in many ways. I hadn't wore my hair down since my early teens and this effected me majorly as all my friends had beautiful hair that they all wore down and i couldn't because no matter what it always looked greasy and flat. I had to wash my hair almost every day so i asked her what she'd been using in her hair and she told me about Batiste dry shampoo and told me she got it in Morrisons. So next time i was food shopping i decided to go on a search for this dry shampoo. It only cost me £1 back then which i was pretty happy about.
The particular Can in the picture above is Batiste's old design. It was a light green in color and roughly the same size as most deodorants. It has information on the back such as directions of use, warnings and the ingredients.
Using the Product.
Following directions on the back i sprayed what i'd guess to be about 30cm from my roots and sprayed downwards. The first thing i noticed was white marks in my hair that i was a little worried about at first but moving onto the second direction i massaged the dry shampoo into my hair and the white marks did fade somewhat but were still noticeable so i got my comb out and started brushing my hair with it mainly over the white marks and eventually they did disappear. My guess was that i was holding the can too close but either way i wasn't too bothered because the marks were gone. The smell isn't anything bad but it can get pretty strong if you use quite a lot of the dry shampoo. Instantly i noticed a difference my hair looked 'dryer' but not like straw or damaged hair it looked.. normal with a little bounce and i was delighted. The first opportunity i had to meet up with my friends after a haircut and discovering the wonder that is dry shampoo i wore my hair down. I felt confident again.. i felt pretty.
I'd recommend this product to anyone i'm not kidding when i say it's confidence in a can because that's what it was for me. It gave my hair life. This isn't the only kind of batiste there is many different scented ones and ones for brunettes and blondes which i think is to help with the white streaks you can get in your hair. I have remained loyal to original though even after trying the others. The price has gone up quite considerably to £2.99 but so has the size and variety. Just today i bought a 400ml can of batiste dry shampoo for £4.99 in Boots which i'd never saw before as i usually buy the 200ml can.
I'll continue buying Batiste for as long as i'm around.
Thank you for reading my review.
I've always been fanatical about my hair, which I consider to be my pride and joy due to it being thick, long and naturally curly. Whilst it was subjected to quite a battering during my teens and twenties where it was every colour and style under the sun, these days I am far more reserved. My hair can be described as normal with the exception of the ends, which are prone to dryness and splitting especially as I regularly use heated appliances and styling products.
Whilst previously I could get away with washing my hair on alternate days, over the past eighteen months or so, I have found that the crown becomes slightly greasy and not having the time to commit to a daily hair wash, I would scatter it with a little talcum powder to soak up the excess oil. Not only was this messy, but my hair frequently gave the appearance that I'd aged a good few years over night! It was only sometime after joining Dooyoo that I learned of Batiste Dry Shampoo, which has since become one of my staple beauty items with this review discussing Clean and Classic Original.
I must admit that despite having read a considerable number of positive reviews, I really did not think this product would be effective for me and as a result, I initially purchased the small travel size, which if my memory serves me correctly, contained 50 ml. Due to my positive experiences I now purchase the largest size where we are presented with 400 ml of product in a metal aerosol can. If you are not familiar with the concept of dry shampoo, I would advise that it is sprayed onto the hair in between washes where it quickly absorbs excess grease and offers a just washed appearance.
It is essential that the can is vigorously shaken prior to use to enable the contents to be evenly distributed, as my first attempt was just to spray and I ended up with a mass of powder! The can offers an easy to open lid, which is securely replaced following use. There are easy to follow directions for use contained on the reverse of the can, which offer a good text size unlike some products that I regularly purchase where the instructions are so small that I struggle to read them despite the fact that I do not require corrective lenses. In addition, there are a few easy to follow diagrams, which support the small about of text.
Whilst Batiste do not offer these directions, I always ensure that my hair is fully brushed prior to application, particularly as it is so thick and I want to ensure that I am directing the product onto the areas that most need it. The can should be held approximately 30 cm from the roots of the hair and the easy to use nozzle pressed down, which will result in a short burst of dry shampoo being dispensed.
Each spray offers a good amount of coverage and I find that a total of three sprays is sufficient for the crown of my head. As directed, I massage through the hair with my finger tips where I am initially able to witness a very slight dampness, which dries within seconds of my fingers making contact. A point I would make here is to close your eyes tightly when spraying, as on a number of occasions the product has burned my eyes, which has caused me considerable discomfort. Provided the directions for application have been carefully followed, there will be no white powder in the hair, but if you spray closer than the recommended 30 cm, your hair will turn white in patches and will require a good amount of brushing to remove.
The aroma is extremely clean and fresh, which deems this product suited for both male and female consumers although the scent disappears too quickly for my liking, as it is non existent a couple of minutes later. As soon as I have brushed my hair I am able to witness a noticeable difference, which is most impressive, as whilst my hair would previously appear to be a little lank and offer an oily appearance in some areas, the dry shampoo offers freshness in addition to that just washed look.
Consequently, my hair offers a fuller and much cleaner appearance and of course, boosts my self-confidence. I like the fact that the product does not alter the texture of my hair such as a residue or stickiness, which can be the case with hair sprays and as a result, I am able to brush through it and style as normal. In fact, the texture of my hair is the same as if I had not applied any product and as a consequence, washing it away is an extremely simple task.
As previously stated, I only use the product on in between hair wash days, as I prefer to wash my hair with shampoo, conditioner and water on alternate days. This is an absolutely fantastic product and one I could not live without with my only regret being that I didn't discover it sooner. Bad hair days are now a thing of the past and if my hair is looking good, I feel good.
Batiste Dry Shampoo Clean and Classic Original is available in two sizes, namely 200 ml, which generally retails for £2.99 and 400 ml for £4.99. I find that with using on alternate days, the larger can lasts me around four months, which represents excellent value for money. As Boots are currently running a three for the price of two promotion on a number of their products, I have placed an online order for six of the larger cans, which will obviously last me a good couple of years. On reflection, I have probably gone a little mad, but I simply couldn't resist a bargain!
I can award no less than five stars together with a high recommendation.
I first bought this dry shampoo about 18 months ago now when I first got pregnant with my son. In the first 9-10 weeks I suffered from the most horrendous pregnancy symptom ever! Greasy hair! Even worse than the 6 months of morning sickness I suffered! Having never suffered much from greasy hair before I was really upset and frustrated at this problem which thank fully only lasted until I was 10 weeks pregnant. I would wash my hair and blow dry it as usual, and all along my parting at the roots my hair was just thick with grease no matter how much I washed it! I felt disgusting, and I just couldn't get rid of it by washing, so my friend advised I try a dry shampoo.
The only one I had heard of is the Batiste range, so I picked up the original version, which was around £1.50 a bottle when I first purchased it from Tescos. I tried this when I got home, I took my pony tail out, so I could spray it right through my hair, all through the roots, and I was so amazed by this product. It instantly made my hair look dryer at the roots, not wet or greasy. I was so relieved I had found something to help me, however the effects only lasted me an hour or so, and it looked greasy again! I had to keep spraying this in my hair every hour or so, every single day until my greasy hair problem went away on its own after around 10 weeks.
The spray comes out like an aerosol, and it was really easy to use. You spray the product 30cm away from your hair and massage it in with your fingers. You need to give the can a good shake before use too. The spray came out easily and evenly over my hair and you couldn't see the product in my hair once massaged in.
I was really pleased it gave me a temporary solution for my really greasy hair when I was pregnant, even if it did only last a short while, it made me feel self conscious when I left the house, and I have used this since on my hair for the days when I don't wash it. I usually wash my hair every day and only now and again leave it 2 days, so I spray this when I leave it sometimes, and it does make my hair look a lot better, it gives it a bit more volume and makes it easier to style.
I have bought a few cans of this over the last year or so and I love it. It smells lovely, and it's not too expensive. It gives hair a good boost on days you don't wash your hair, and does get rid of grease in your hair if it is greasy. I think it only lasted a short while in my hair as it was soooo bad, that I had to keep reapplying it. I would definitely recommend this dry shampoo if you are looking to try one, they come in a range of different scents and the cans are bright and colourful, and I will definitely keep buying this product!
I had never heard of dry shampoo before becoming a member on here, I guess I didn't examine the hair care shelves properly whenever out shopping! Now, I'm a huge fan as I can wash my hair every other day and use dry shampoo on the other days to give it a new lease of life.
The dry shampoo I started using was this Batiste original dry shampoo. For my first purchase of dry shampoo I purchased using Amazon vouchers so if I didn't like it I wouldn't have lost out, so to speak. It can be purchased from Amazon, Supermarkets and places like Boots. There are a couple of different can sizes available to buy and you are looking at spending between £2 - £5 depending on the size. I paid around £3.50 for a 200ml can.
The dry shampoo comes inside an aerosol can, just like hair spray. It is coloured in different shades of blue, green and yellow and has the Batiste branding on the front with the product information on the back. It has a lid to stop any mishaps and this sits securely on the can.
To use the dry shampoo you have to give the can a good, hard shake to make sure the product is all even in the can then spray it around 30cm away on to the roots. Once it has been applied, you have to run your fingertips through your hair to massage it in, and then style your hair as normal. I tend to spray the dry shampoo along my parting line then I can run my fingertips through both sides of my hair. Once I've sprayed it, I do find the shampoo sitting on my hair very obvious as it has a white powder look to it but this soon goes after you have massaged it into your hair.
Once I've used the Batiste dry shampoo, I do find that my hair looks clean and fresh. As I use it the days between washing my hair, my hair isn't that greasy or horrid looking but by using this dry shampoo it's almost like I have washed my hair and leaves it looking good. I tend to apply the shampoo in the morning and the fresh look does last all day. The next day my hair is definitely ready for its normal wash though.
I think this Batiste original dry shampoo is fantastic and a great way of giving my hair a new lease of life on the days where I don't wash it. For the price I think it is fantastic as a can of this can last me a couple of months. I think it represents great value for money.
I have to wash my hair every other day as it can get particuarly greasy- as i have a dark blonde/mousey colour type of hair I find it shows up a lot more when greasy than my darker haired friends.
There have been times when I've forgotten to wash my hair at night- I cant do it too late as its very long (down to my belly button type long) and a nightmare to get dry and then I realise I have baby group in the morning and trying to keep my toddler occupied while I get my hair washed and dried can be a bit of a fiasco.
Some mornings Ive had to resort to putting talcum powder in my hair for the morning and then doing my hair in the evening. Batiste does a much better job!
I had heard of dry shampoo before but wasnt sure whether it particuarly worked, having had a few talcum powder in mornings in the last month i decided to give it a go and was pretty impressed!
You spray it 30cm from head, it comes out sort of like a white powder (quite like talcum powder actually). You then massage it into hair and brush/style as normal.
It really does make a difference, my hair not only looked but felt less greasy to the touch. Obviously its no substitute for a real wash & shampoo but its definitly close.
Being the original brand it doesnt have a particular scent to it. I'd like to try out the scented brands in the future and see how they compare. The effect lasts all day but if you werent planning to wash your hair the next day you'd have to reapply.
I wouldnt say it particuarly boosts the body and texture of hair as it claims but not much does for my hair as its so long and heavy!
Design wise my bottle looks slightly different to the picture. Its tall with a clear lid. The botle is a mix of yellow, dark green, light green and white diagnol style lines. It has the batise dry shampoo brand written in green font and has the product type (original) in a green circle clearly on the bottle. The back of the bottle states dirctions of use, cautions, ingredients and company address/website.
Its currently selling in Tesco for £2.99 for a 200ml bottle although you can buy smaller bottles (easy perhaps to fit in your handbag!)
Id definitly say this is a good one to have in your handbag on those mornings where its needed!
This product is ideal for those with long hair who know that a hair wash and dry isnt always a quick thing (espcially if again like me you have very tangly hair!). It would also be good for someone who is keen on camping or festivals.
My mother in law found it quite useful after a shoulder replacement op when she was unable to wash her hair for a little while.
Definitly one to keep in the cupboard!
I have tried a range of the Batiste dry shampoo products but have chosen to review the original one.
My main purpose for purchasing this product was for use when I went camping or was at a festival, anywhere really where I didn't have as much opportunity to wash my hair as I need to straighten it after washing it.
I have to say overall I have found this product to be very effective. I generally wash my hair every other day but have been attempting to go a third day by using this, to prevent my hair from being so damaged by the straightening that I do. I don't have particularly greasy hair but it does go a bit lifeless after a day or so and this does revitalise it a little.
Directions for use:
You need to shake the can
Hold the can about 30 cms away from the roots (this is very important as the product comes out as a white powder and you don't want a load of that on your hair)
Spray the roots and massage hair
Brush through and style as usual.
Although it does not compare to a proper hair wash it does help my hair look fresher.
Where to buy
Most beauty stores and supermarkets stock this product, I generally get mine when they are on offer in Sainsbury's. It retails for between £2 and £4 so a bargain can be found if you shop around.
WARNING: Do not buy the Batiste Gold Shimmer unless you are a 12 year old going out to a school disco. I bought this thinking it might give my hair a bit more shimmer, it literally turned all my clothes into a gold shimmering mess, not the look I want at work. I can't see how it can be practical for anyone.
This is not to say however that some of their other products aren't great, one of my favourite being the tropical smell.
Overall a very handy product to have lying around.
My hair gets quite greasy and when it does it tends to lose all its volume and stick to my head which means I am generally stuck with washing it, drying it and straightening it every day. Some days all I want to do it sling it back and worry about it later. I had heard of dry shampoo but it was never something I thought I would be into when I tried to picture it I always imagined flaking, residue, dandruff appearance and solid hair that didn't budge however I was rather poorly for a while and my hair was depressing me so my mam bought me a batiste original dry shampoo.
The dry shampoo comes in a 200ml aerosol can which is striped with different shades of green. It displays the batiste logo and confirms that this is the original version of the shampoo. The back of the can advises that this product will banish greasy roots, giving dull lifeless hair a makeover without the use of any water. It also advises that a quick spray will add volume and texture and leave hair feeling as if it has been freshly washed.
There are also a few pictures on the back of the can explaining the instructions of use for the product.
Shake vigorously before use
Spray onto roots approximately 30cm away
Massage in with fingertips
Brush the hair and there we have it.
I apply this product simply as it is instructed and cover all the roots, you can immediately see the grease beginning to disappear as the dry shampoo absorbs it. I have blonde hair and the product does come out white so it has to be rubbed in pretty well to ensure there is no white remaining which can look a bit nasty, I would definitely say that judging by my experience with blonde then this product would be no good on brunettes and you would need the brunette type.
The dry shampoo definitely does coat the hair well and banishes the grease and I would agree that it gives the hair added volume and texture creating that washed and styled look for an extra day. This product is easy to wash out the following day and it has not left any damage or residue remaining on my hair which is a bonus. This product is a must for me now even if I just use it in the morning to freshen my hair to take my daughter to school and wash it when I get back. I would definitely recommend and considering you can pick this up for about £1.50 you cant go wrong.
Although I am posting a review on the original what I write goes for most of the dry shampoos in the batise range, they're all good, just depends on your personal preference fragrancewise.
This has been a life saver on so many occasions as my hair is type greasy and needs to be washed every other day, and though I try to maintain this regime life can sometimes get in the way. Unexpected invitations to go out when I thought it was safe to leave my hair til the morning, festivals when I just can't be bothered to queue for the showers, mornings when I wake to find that someone had obviously dumped a chip pan over my head during the night, all resolved by this little superhero.
I really like the clean fresh fragrance of the original which eliminates any greasy odours and just the right amount is sprayed from the can. Sometimes you have to watch that you don't spray it too close to the hair or you wind up looking like an eighty yr old granny but directions are on the bottle. Once the shampoo is massaged into the roots all grease magically disappears and as a bonus, a bit of volume is also injected. I use this when I want to back comb my hair too as it give hair more grip and staying power. The most amazing thing is the price, plus there is also a take away sized can, batiste is the gift that keeps on giving. Wouldn't use anything else.
Hi, I have just discovered Batiste dry shampoo, (Blush) & I just wanted to say that I am REALLY impressed by this product! I never ever don't wash my hair everyday, this morning I slept in & didn't have time to wash my hair. I was panicking! I remembered I had bought some of this product to try one day & hey presto it actually works!!So, although I am a late comer to discover this product, I will be telling any of my friends who will listen all about it!! So well done Batiste, you have another happy customer.Thank you, Linni.x
When you are in a hurry and need to wash your hair but haven't got time, this product is ideal. It allows you to miss a hair wash whilst still having clean looking hair. The first time I tried it was at Reading festival, and I didn't give it a test run before at home so was a bit apprehensive however I found that the positive comments and recommendations for this product are true! A few sprays and rub ins and hair is clean looking, as well as smelling fresh.
The bottle is a standard hairspray bottle featuring the Batiste logo on the front. It is nothing amazing, but they do have a retro feel amount them, and dont look too bad on the dressing table. Easy instructions - spray onto hair 30cm away from hair rub in and brush. There are even pictures to show you what to do on the bottle! However it is vital that you do not spray too close and make sure that all the spray is rubbed in otherwise you could possibly end up with grey hair or grey streaks!! Not a good look if you have dark hair!!
This dry shampoo gives your hair volume as well, and sometimes do use it instead of a wash for a more voluminous look, rather than washing and styling my hair as it is far easier and actually gives a similar effect. As well as this the effect does last several hours, this product is a must have I feel, wether you are going out or partying in a festival! I apply this product at night so I can wake up with no traces of the product in my hair in the morning but wake up with clean looking hair.
I do feel that the Batiste dry shampoo is rather pricey, but generally you can get it on offers. It is around £2.50-£3.50 a bottle. They also do a various amount of sizes from a huge 400ml to a mini travel sized one, as well as scents. My personal preference smell is the tropical one, but the original is just as fresh smelling.
I was always a bit reluctant to start using dry shampoo, mainly because I thought if your hair looked like it needed washing, then wash it! However, it was when I went to V festival I decided to try Batiste as I was dreading the communal showers and I have used it all the time ever since, I love it!! As well as not really having the time to wash and dry my long, thick hair every morning, it is not good to wash your hair every day anyway as it strips all the natural goodness out of it so this product not only makes life easier, but is probably actually better for your hair!
As it comes in an aerosol can, Batiste is really simple to use as you just hold the can around 30cm away from your hair and spray all over, mainly focusing on the roots. Then it will need brushing through quickly to reveal significantly less greasy hair! Not sure how it works but it always makes a difference on my hair and takes a lot less time than washing it properly. The Batiste dry shampoo spray also smells quite pleasant which I was not particularly expecting. Obviously, it doesn't smell as nice/strongly as proper shampoo, but not bad all the same.
Another positive about this product is the price. It is by far the cheapest dry shampoo I have found (at £2.99 at most supermarkets) and does exactly the same job as more well -known branded ones. It also lasts a decent amount of time; I probably use mine around 1 or 2 times a week and it lasts me well over a month which I think is pretty good given the price.
Having dark coloured hair, the major negative of the original Batiste is that it leaves your hair looking grey when it is first sprayed on which is never a good look! But it always practically disappears when brushed through and isn't noticeable however I now tend to buy the new line from Batiste which has a brown tint in it to overcome this issue.
Overall, this product is an essential one for me. It is obviously not designed to be a long-term solution or replacement for washing hair, but is great if you are in a rush and need fresher looking hair quickly and cheaply.
If you read my reviews, you are probably aware that I have very greasy hair that needs to be washed everyday. Sometimes I just don't have the time though, and so, when I became aware of the concept of dry shampoo, I had to buy some. I went with Batiste as it seems to be the most popular brand of dry shampoo in the market. There are a number of different formulas, scents and sizes available so you should be able to easily find one that works for you. Dry shampoo is basically meant to absorb excess oil and make greasy hair look and feel relatively fresh and clean between washes.
The dry shampoo comes in an aerosol can quite like a hairspray can. The can has shades of blue, green and yellow on it and is quite colourful and eye-catching so you will be able to easily locate it on the store shelf. The cap clicks into place quite securely so carrying this can around is not a problem.
How to use and does it work?
To use you are meant to shake the can vigorously, hold the can about 30cm away from hair, spray into roots and massage through with fingertips so that the white powder "disappears" and is no longer visible in your hair. After that, just brush your hair. I have dark brown hair, but getting the white powder out of my hair isn't very hard and just takes a little bit of massaging and brushing. Make sure you do this though as you don't want to be walking around with white powder in your hair! The scent of the dry shampoo is very fresh and clean, but doesn't really linger on my hair which is fine with me. My hair does start to instantly look less greasy and limp. This effect doesn't last all day and I have to reapply the dry shampoo as my hair starts to look greasy and flat again in a few hours. It doesn't work if your hair is super greasy though, so if you don't plan on washing your hair, start using dry shampoo before your hair becomes very greasy. As it is just a temporary fix, I only tend to use it when I really don't have the time to wash my hair.
Price and availability
This dry shampoo can be bought at most chemists and supermarkets. The 150 ml can retails at around £3, and the 50 ml can retails at £1.50. As I have mentioned before, there are a number of different formulas and scents available for different hair types and different results. Batiste dry shampoos can sometimes be found on offer, and that is when I tend to buy them.
This product does work, but only for a few hours, so it is just a temporary fix. If you are out and about you will need to carry the can around for "touch-ups." It won't work on hair that is already very greasy-in that case you will have no other choice but to wash your hair. However, it makes my hair feel a little fresher and cleaner (as long as it wasn't too greasy to begin with) so it is a godsend on days when I can't wash my hair. It is not expensive, and lasts for ages as I use it very rarely and only need a small amount each time. I definitely recommend you keep a can of this around, and I always have one in my bathroom cupboard.

I bought Batiste Original Dry Shampoo because I needed something to rescue my hair when it was lacking life but without a large price tag to go with it. Admittedly, it is very cheap, but you certainly get what you pay for.
I followed the instructions (also supported by helpful diagrams) and the dry shampoo does work quite well. On limp hair, it works very well to add volume, life and texture to it. I noticed a difference immediately. For such a cheap product, I was very pleased with this result. However, when used on greasy hair it did not have as much impact. Although it improved my hair, the effect seemed to wear off after a little while, leaving straggly strands of hair.
The main disadvantage of this product is the huge amount of white powdery stuff that it leaves on your hair. If sprayed really carefully and sparingly, this isn't such a problem, but when sprayed liberally it is like a layer of snow on your scalp. Annoyingly, this powder is not easily shaken off or brushed out.
The results match the small price and it is ok in an emergency but for really good quality, look elsewhere.
The in-between shampoo perfect for when your hair feels greasy and lifeless in-between washes / Shake can vigorously and in between spray bursts / Hold approximately 30cm from the hair and spray lightly and evenly / Massage throu
