I bought this product today after several friends telling me how good it was. It claims to refresh hair between washes.

Now I have quite greasy hair, it need washing every day really, and as it's quite long, this can mean I have to spend up to 1½ hours washing, drying and straightening my hair. Now, I can think of lots of things I'd rather be doing so I thought I'd give it a go.

I bought it from Boots for £2.09 which I thought was fairly reasonable. It is in aerosol form rather than spray and the canister including lid stands approx 7" high, so it doesn't take up much room.

The packaging is a bit bland, turquoise and medium green. To me these colours don't shout out 'hair product', but now I know what I'm looking for the green should stand out from other brands.

The tin claims that; Batiste Original Dry Shampoo, with a refreshing fragrance, revitalises greasy, dull and lifeless hair between washes. Instantly leaves your hair feeling clean, full of body and smelling beautiful. Quick and convenient to use wherever you go.

The instructions for use are; shake can vigourously before use and inbetween sprays. Hold can approx 30cm from hair and spray lightly, giving even coverage. Use fingertips to massage through hair and leave for a few moments. Brush product out, preferably using a natural bristle brush.

Now, I used it this afternoon. I washed my hair last night and I thought I'd see if I could manage without washing it today.

I followed the directions and sprayed the product on my hair. After reading another review on the product, rather than leaving for a few moments, I left it for about a minute before brushing out. As I brushed there were white dusty bits coming from my hair which looked a bit like dried hairspray when it is brushed out.

After I had finished brushing my hair looked shiny and felt clean. not just washed clean, but certainly a lot better than it was before. The smell of the product has been left in my hair and a few hours later it's still going strong.

I didn't use that much either, a few good squirts seems to have done the trick, making it even better value

While not a substitute for washing hair, it seems to have worked really well for that inbetween time. I will definately be buying it again.
